To be clear, I dislike gimmicks because when Ben has them, it waters down the whole point of the Omnitrix. In isolation, they’re all fun in their own ways. For example, Fusions are great as an Omnitrix malfunction, like “Dr. Animo and the Mutant Ray” and “Outbreak”, and Ultimates work for Albedo as a way to one-up Ben. But I don’t believe they work for Ben Prime.
You know what really sucked about this ultimate gimmick, at least for ultimate swampfire is that he is very wasted, and this is the last time he is used, by ben. His last true appearance is Night of the Living Nightmare. Where it's just him and a bunch of other common aliens ben uses walking toward albedo.
I pointed this out on a Quick Review, but I feel like it’s worth bringing up again: Both of the secondary characters’ gimmicks that are complementary to going Ultimate - Gwen’s Anodite form and Kevin’s mutations - have BOTH been treated with more weight and reverence in UA than the gimmick the show is named for. I think I might have liked Ultimates more if they got to explore that plot line they were planning to, as brought up in Fame, but overall, for one reason or another, I think they dropped the ball with Ultimates.
I had this theory that the reason this Ben 10k doesn't switch from human form is because the Classic Ben 10k never switched to human form. So they were like opposites in personality, powers, and everything.
That's exactly what I thought too, I like how this Ben 10,000 is like the opposite of the one in the classic series, since in that episode the whole conflict with Ben 10,000 was him basically leaving his humanity aside and becoming so focused on being a hero and not being himself. This Ben seems like from what he saw in that future he feels he should be more lighthearted and appreciative of his human side.
@@viniciusuchoa2487Remember Ken 10, we already seen what a good version of 10,000 look like. That's especially since Kevin in omniverse' future cosplayed as himself!
Fun little fact, since in Omniverse, Albedo isn’t linked to the official Omnitrix, and can access Gravattack, that’s means Ben10k unlocked it for Ben Prime during this episode :)
It's probably unintentional, but I sort of like the idea of how Ultimate Ben is like the antithesis of the Omnitrix. If he gets to use all his powers in human form, it means he's using the Ultimatrix ONLY for the powers, which directly goes against Azmuth's original goal for the watch and explains why he hates Ultimates so much. Admittedly that is kind of muddled though with how nobody picks up on it in-universe.
@@Strike-hopper The Omnitrix in the original thru AF was a prototype (according to Azmuth). The real Omnitrix was presented to Ben in the last episode of UA and he has it all through Omniverse and beyond what we see from there.
Regarding Eon's tangled backstory in this episode, the way I always tried to work it out is that he was indeed from Race Against Time... but was the Ben from that movie. To explain, some time after defeating the 'original' Eon by bonking him into the Hands of Armageddon, RAT Ben eventually got stuck as his Eon/Chronian transformation, leading to him becoming the dimension hopping Ben/Eon seen in Ben 10,000 Returns and Omniverse. Also, with the line about 'that wasn't me' Eon says when fighting Ben 10,000 at the start of the ep, I took that to mean that firstly, Ben 10,000 was referring to fighting Eon as 16 year old Ben later in the episode, but from Eon's pov that hadn't happened yet (because as Paradox says he wanted to be shunted back through Ben's timeline). As for why he can't travel there on his own, maybe it's because Eon is somehow synced up to his present, where he's the same age as Ben 10,000, and can't time travel willy nilly like Paradox. It all just about makes sense if you think about it that way.
Sort of like if Eon was treated like that version of Ben's Alien X where he's basically trapped in that form thinking it was safe to use? Because we DO see that sort of plot line kind of reused for the Evil Adult Alien X Ben in the reboot's finale.
i personally interpreted it as a version of ben who went through the events of race against time but was stuck as a chronian after being transformed by eon
It's all very wack. The idea roughly makes sense until Omniverse redesigned Eon to no longer look like Ben 10000 but rather look like how he looked in RaT, implying he is the original one and his only direct retcon was that he tried to take over the other Ben to avoid getting old soonish, rather than already being old. Or sth, idk.
You know, with all the "this is Ben's true future" being said in this episode, I like to imagine that what changed Ben's timeline was Ultimate Ben giving him more aliens than he should have to "spite Azmuth"
@Random Idiocy Basically I like to imagine that when Ultimate Ben restored Ben Prime's transformations, in *his* timeline that's all that was done when he went through these events, but he decided this time to also give Fasttrack, Eatle, Clockwork, Gravattack (I'm just saying, UA Ben from this point on should have access to Gravattack as Albedo is able to turn into it later on and he can only turn into what Ben had access to when his DNA got messed up) when he wasn't supposed to
@Random Idiocy I went to comment on the other person's comment, but I actually like this concept! Granted, when I do fanfics, I usually base them off the episode I'm on, not really changing much except for just adding my OC and a few more interactions to make like "okay, this oc is part of the story, but she has her own plotline going too"
I feel like his ability to stay in human form is a response to the original ben 10000's refusal to turn human until og ben convinces him. Except in this one future ben is treated as an ultimate hero as opposed to someone who's really awesome but ultimately flawed like og ben 10k. I think if they'd kept ben 10k flawed, but in the other direction, where now he puts too much value in staying human and forgets that the original purpose of the omnitrix was as a tool of understanding, not as a weapon, and by the end he realizes that sometimes going alien is the way to go, that would have been awesome. Though this may undercut the theme that Ben's personality makes him a hero, not the omnitrix, but that's already been undercut worse in episodes like primus, so this would have to be an interesting balancing act.
I feel you could still keep it in line with Ben's character as Ben definitely cares about his transformations and sees them as real people, so you could see it in a way this Ben 10K stopped caring about hai transformations outside of the power they could give him and just put too much stock in his humanity forgetting that the Omnitrix was about becoming and experiencing what others species are like
This is such a strange episode, it re-introduces such a unique and interesting villain concept in Eon (who is actually a Ben Tennyson gone mad) and I feel like starts the inspiration for the numerous Bens we see appear later on in Omniverse.
i think a beter idea would have been for Eon to be a Ben 10 that didn't escape the Chronian transformation. He was locked into it and despite fighting to free himself, it warped his personality and view of the world.
@@rushalias8511You're talking like it's not what the episode is saying. Because if you think about, it makes sense for eon to be same as race against time one! Time travel?
@@erikbihari3625 no I mean...in recent against time Ben was turned into a chronosapien and was then turned back thanks to Gwen talking him down. What if instead of being able to turn back he was just locked into and started thinking that he was a chronian and that the alternate Ben's were just impostors needed to be destroyed
@@rushalias8511 I’m pretty sure what you’re saying is what Eon is supposed to be it’s just executed poorly Was I the only one who got that even Rat Eon was always meant to be Ben
I think it was meant to be more of a contrast. The first Ben 10k didn’t ever become Ben. Nor did he particularly seem to enjoy the job anymore. While as this Ben 10k is definitely more vane and self involved and loves his job. Pretty much reflecting who Ben is now. I think they just thought of that and didn’t work out the details.
25:40 I think it's like Eon's lightning has aged the aliens' genes to the point where they've turned to dust, but that, despite erasing the alien, makes Ben go back to normal, as if the alien dies, so he becomes untransforms. But as the alien's sample was damaged, he lost the alien completely.
I believe why Eon is "a Ben" has to do with the fact that Eon said he would "reborn" within Ben after giving him his transformation. So maybe Eon has always been a Ben just trying to perpetuate his existence by trying to give the transformation to a new Ben every time. Perhaps, and this is pure head canon, each time he transfers his consciousness into a new ben, his memories get more diluted to the point he ended up forgetting his whole goal and become obsessed with taking Ben's for his own purpose.
As a fan of Vixen, a DC character that uses animals powers with their “holograms”, I have warmed up to Ultimate Ben’s powers💚. They definitely took the inspiration from Vixen. Of course nothing will ever beat Ben transforming into Aliens, which come on, it’s one of the main things we love about the franchise. ❤️🔥
They're very similar, but Vixen's powers also allow her to grow wings and claws (which look like holograms/spirits). I think it would've been neat if Ultimate Ben was the same, seeing him flying as Jetray without wings was very strange lol
I think the implication is that the Eon in this episode is a living transformation of a Chronoian, and probably just used Bens older DNA to make this form, going with "he came from our watch line" and probably believes himself to be the only Ben that should exist.
Personally while I dislike the whole Ultimate Ben thing too, I got a soft spot for this Ben 10000, because I love a lot of the smaller stuff around him. Him knowing some magic, the fact he was apparently president of Earth for a time.... that's honestly neat little world-building stuff that makes him stand out as more unique.
I def agree that ultimate ben’s gimmick can be well improved if his body parts shape-shifted to his alien counterparts like basically a suit of armour or like iron man’s nanotech suit.
@@pablosilva6932 that was probably why his gimmick was to stay in human form instead of the shapeshifting version cuz these aliens would’ve compromised it heavily
Was honestly thinking of the Omnitrix symbol on his chest, he slaps it, then a Upgrade like suit goes over him so he can shapeshift parts of his body needed for the alien while keeping his shape and making him visually distinct form other Ben 10,000s. Plus helps avoid potential body horror stuff if we see parts of his body morph while still his fleshy self and the animation saving, but visually lazy version we get here where he just kinda does it.
It would have been so easy to just have Ben really die when Way Big was killed, and then have Ben 10.000 just use Clockworks power(which he was already using) to undo it. Not only would it make much more sense than the nonsense we got, it would also have really hyped up the power of Ben 10.000
Fun fact: here in brazil, Clockwork is presented as "Ampulheta" (Hourglass) at first, but I guess the translators realized that it was a horrible name so they changed it to "Contratempo" (Google translate says that in english it's setback)
I really liked the idea that every time Ben meets Ben 10.000 he will be slighty different because the future changes everytime present Ben interacts with his future self. But everybody just wanted Ben's future to be set in stone with all of his battles already won and decided before they happened. I really liked the Evil Ben thing, it reminds me of The Valeyard from Doctor Who.
Something that I see that many people don’t bring up, is that the concept of Ultimate Ben makes sense for this iteration. After OG Ben met Ben 10,000 and taught him that he doesn’t always have to be alien, Ben would take this to heart and find a way to become alien while still being Ben. He is ultimate Ben because he doesn’t want to become like the future of himself that he saw. I think that’s a little poetic and makes this version a little cooler. Still though, could’ve been improved
@@theking8347 I did hear that, but in the film he had the same gauntlet on both hands. It would’ve been best to show his backstory in detail. Like is Eon just an evil Ben or just stuck in a Chronian form controlled by Eon’s DNA? Even if he was a Chronian, why would he look like Ben’s future self? Was Eon from the film always Ben? Does his gauntlet relate to any of this? Because it would seem pointless to “rebuilt” it if it’s not shown doing anything specifically throughout the show.
@@ghostspider2056 yes actually In the film Eon is Ben’s future self turned evil by the Cronian transformation and he goes back in time to ensure his future and resurrect the Cronians who he now believes himself to be one of He even says “you are me Ben Tennison”
They brought him back in Omniverse, could have done so many cool things with this character, yet they completely fucked him up. They didn't even bother to explain how Eon is still alive
"Introducing Ben 10 who can't transform!" But nah, in all seriousness, I actually really like the concept of Ben that takes on the powers of his aliens without actually transforming into them. I just wish it would have been done in more interesting ways, maybe something similar to the Osmosian powers. Ben "Transforms" into heatblast and his hands darken and receive lava cracks. He "transforms" into Rath, becomes very hairy and his nails become claws. He "transforms" into Lodestar and his skin becomes metallic, filled with sparkles, and limbs become more akin to crab claws. + Keep the iconic green eyes whenever he transforms.
@@N.I.A23 Because she forgets most of her spells. And the time-freezing spell is most likely a "last resort" spell (like Ben using Way Big, Alien X, Clockwork, Pesky Dust, and Atomix, and Kevin absorbing DNA).
@@samdalseide5060 there's a major flaw in your comparison is that most of the last resorts used by ben and Kevin has an actual effect and reason on why they're a "last resort" -Kevin absorbing dna is self explanatory considering Ultimate Kevin's arc -Atomix is a very destructive alien who can affect his friends with radiations -Waybig is big making him tricky to use -Alien x has the whole "multiple personalities" thing. -as for clockwork and pesky dusk I don't think ben know how to utilise them well Gwen spells on the other hand? There is absolutely no consequence to most of her spells. The spell didn't drain her power or has any side effect. So I don't get why it would be a "last resort" when it has no negatives at all. Maybe If the spell can freeze everyone around her INCLUDING her allied then ill understand
The way I like to explain the fact that way big dies but Ben survives despite being basically the same individual is that the Omnitrix releases the gennotype of that alien to make it take the damage instead of Ben (similar to how the ultimate aliens got sentient and were released from the ultimatrix or how Ben had to collect the aliens that went missing after he tried to get the master control causing Kevin to mutate or how ghostfreak got out of the Omnitrix in the original series). There are many instances of the Omnitrix literally creating aliens that work as a separate entity from Ben. So the failsafe just makes the alien real to protect Ben from any harm.
I would also take it while it mutates and restructure Ben,I would say it restructure his body enough to not permanently damage his body and can maintain his alien form And the green extras are basically the energy that is used to build the extra meat off Ben If you seen Reincarnated as a Slime anime. This was the thought I took it off from The slime transformed and the energy makes up the mass difference of his original body to the form he takes
The later parts of UA really felt like it was based on a checklist of story element requirements: Movie Adaptations, Importance for Forever Knight, Classic Story Element Expansions (Viktor, Ripjaws lore, Ben 10,000, etc) and just a lot more stand alone stories
Something interesting to point is that in the Brazilian Portuguese version of this episode the dialogue after ben 10,000 lands the plane implies that when he goes ultimate he not only recives the alien powers but he also his base traits are increased maybe that is where all the strength comes from he says something to the effect of "When you grow up you will lear that there is much more going on when you go ultimate" and gwen realizes what he means and says out loud "ultimate ben" basically saying that he himself is on a ultimate form not just copying alien powers
Even tho i don't like Ultimate Ben. I aways liked imagined him using the concept of Ultimate Ben actually being a alien in the omnitrix. Kinda like a "loop" in the system. He turns in to himself, the omnitrix stays the same, when he chooses a alien his dna is mixed and he just gain the powers. Doesn't make any sense but it's so wild that still my headcanon
Some cute detail: The spell Ben 10,000 uses Contigo is Spanish for “With you” so it makes it very cute that the following line is “be around an Anodite for a long time and you’ll pick up some tricks” idk if Gwen names her spells but wouldn’t it be so cute that the spell she taught Ben was called like that?
Or she got inspired by ben naming his aliens and that's why she named her spells and her teaching ben making it come full circle ben inspiring her and her inspiring ben to name spells now that's cute
@@frankchen4229 Presumably, but Gwen didn't show any sign of it either at the beginning of the OG series until she start practicing Magic and by extension Mana Manipulation.
21:13 "turn into an alien that does just hover" like Lodestar, which has the added benefit of not making the audience question an established alien like Jetray(and considering they've never demonstrated Jetray to be superhumanly strong in a pure lifting ability), opposed to Lodestar, who's powers have little bit of wiggle room with how the audience may perceive his strength.
@@samdalseide5060 good point. Lodestar was just the first one that came to mind, mostly because big metal ship and alien able to control metal, to put it in the most blunt way possible. Plus I like the sort of effects used to represent his magnetic fields.
One theory I had about Ultimate Ben's device is: It was rebuilt from the remains of the Omnitrix at some point and updated to include the ability of Ultimate Ben (Presumably inspired by both the Ultimatrix and Eunice)
My headcannon was that Ben 10000 upgraded the ultimatrix and made it recalibrate, similar to how the original did in the first episode of AF, to look like the original since the made a comment saying he liked the old one better.
Maybe it's to avoid spoilers, or maybe it's to not take away from the actual plot of the show/movie, but between this episode and Race against time I'm surprised Kuro didn't take the opportunity to talk about 5YL more, given how important Eon is to that story. He had to address this episode in particular in the comic, in order to bring things back in line with the Race against Time version of Eon, and I do really like how Kuro was able to tie everything together in 5YL
Kuro talking about how much Ben doesn't need gimmicks is exactly why I think Ultimate Aliens are implemented well. Like Kuro said, they're not really that of a big deal. They're basically just new transformations.
@@viniciusuchoa2487 kinda feels like the writers were forced to make the main aliens who have ultimate forms a more powerful version of themselves instead of coming up with a new alien cuz thinking about it, ultimate swampfire can be such a cool new alien if he didn’t have so much in common with swampfire.
then what was the point of introducing them if they weren't going to be used. It better off if ultimates remained as albedo thing and ben overcame them with skills and his own aliens.
@@viniciusuchoa2487 i think a better work around would have been if the utimates were either limited or the ultimatrix merely locked away any other aliens. Essentially it would have locked Ben to all the aliens he had in alien force, thus making it impossible to unlock new ones so the ultimate feature would have been a work around to it. Now instead of using newer aliens per se he could upgrade his already existing one in a sense to make them more versatile.
21:16 He already took Humungousaur on his back without much trouble in the episode where Albedo first appears, and this is a Jetray from the future, so he should be strong enough to smooth a crashing ship
The anticipation building up to Ultimate Ben 10k getting that hotdog was immeasurable.....until Kuro snatched it away. He took away the poor man's lunch.
When Ultimate Ben says “I threw in a few new ones” to Ben prime, this is pretty much how Ben unlocked Gravattack as Albedo also uses Gravattack in Omniverse.
The irony being that this is the fans paying more attention to continuity than the people behind the shows. There has been a statement that "yeah, admittedly the idea of Albedo only having the aliens that were unlocked at that time does not make sense with gravattack", even tho it evidently does.
Eon probably didn’t need Ben to send him back in time, but as he likely realised he couldn’t beat future Ben, he staged his death in order to trick Ben, which technically worked since it was paradox that told Ben it wasn’t over
I liked how you reconciled Eon’s conflicting backstories in 5YL as him feeling as though he was Ben. Not that he was actually Ben. Because it would make sense his psyche would be affected by decades or centuries of hunting, collecting and possessing different Bens. Possibly even forgetting his origins and his goals.
I feel like it would make more sense if this Eon and Race Against Time Eon weren't the same person, but this Eon was the result of a timeline where old Eon actually managed to turn Ben into a Chronian. So like, this Eon is from a timeline where Ben wasn't able to transform back into a human. Or something like that.
One thing I always headcanoned is that paradox is the narrator in Gwen 10, especially since in omniverse he even says a similar line at the end of and then there was ben
@@bashengatheblackmanta7003 I always thought that this happened during the night after Gwen finds the omnitrix cause we see she doesn't know the other aliens by name

I know I'm probably in the minority, but I REALLY like this incarnation of Ben 10,000. Him being diametrically opposed to the classic version in his powerset and attitude is great, like Ben learned from meeting the original and resolved not to end up the same way; where classic never turned into a human and remained an alien all the time and was overly serious to the point of being brusque, Ultimate Ben has learned to use the powers of his aliens while in human form, and has retained his fun loving, at times overly cocky, attitude. I really like the concept of Ultimate Ben as his peak transformation, since it's taking Ben's ability to use his alien's abilities in creative and unique ways, and the human ability to adapt, to it's absolute extreme. Plus it gives more of an excuse to show how Ben has matured in his own skills, him showing off his martial arts and whipping out the spell were some of my favourite moments. That said, his design is absolutely the most bland of the Ben 10Ks, he absolutely needed his own unique Omnitrix/Ultimatrix design, and probably a different shirt, though when the Ultimatrix symbol was on his chest the shirt didn't look too bad, it seemed more balanced. And like Kuro said, his body should have changed somewhat when he was using abilities humans don't have the biology for, so while I ADORE the concept of Ultimate Ben as a transformation and him being able to utilise powers while in human form, it definitely needed a bit more work. And yeah, not being able to see older versions of his transformations in the holograms was kind of disappointing, that would have been a nice touch. Overall though, I really like this incarnation of Ben 10,000, I'm torn between him and the classic version (post Ken 10) as my favourite versions of Ben's future, and I really wish Ultimate Ben had shown up more, even just one more appearance would have been cool to see, it would have given them a chance to flesh out his powerset and rules more, and hint at other future storylines or concepts that they could use.
I think one thing that reinforces that this Eon is the end of Eon's timeline is that he's the one that looks the most different compared to all his other appearances, so "absorbing Bens" maybe made him stronger. and healthy, like what happens when Darkstar absorbs a lot of energy
I can't believe you didn't mentoin that one of the info cards of the Race against Time film mentoins that "Eon's prievous attempts to overtake Ben's body were thwarted by the mysterious time traveller known as Paradox" when this entire Episode seems to be based around that card.
I can imagine this version of Ben 10k could lead to a lot of implied body horror, which is ironic considering the month is break down is coming out. I do agree that having him change physical is much better. Xlr8 could make him slimmer, clockwork could make him cyborg like, heatblast is easy magama hands etc.
I can feel his annoyance about Gwen's power coming out of no where There should be a count of how Gwen's Power came out of nowhere counter or somethin.
13:50 actually the wiki does state that this Tennyson trio is the RAT version so it’s likely that the reused footage of Eon fighting ultimate Ben is supposed to be an animated version of a scene from the movie (most likely the Diamondhead fight at the gym since we saw Eon use his powers in that scene)
21:08 Not wanting to defend the animation that could be better, but considering that Jetray flies in space, it makes sense that it doesn't need to glide to fly, but rather has some sort of invisible propulsion
10:59 I personally love this shot because it looks like the effects they used when Ben transformed into Eon in Race against time, so a keen eyed viewer could see he's not defeated and is using his powers
The way I interpret Eon in this episode is that he isn't the only version of Eon that exists. UAF Eon is aware of other Eon's, but unaware that Ultimate Ben is a version of ben that defeated UAF Eon as UAF Ben in the past. UAF Eon knows that some Ben's have already fought other versions of Eon before, but not that UAF Ben fought him specifically or that UAF Ben and Ultimate Ben were part of the same timeline at the point when they fought.
"Burn that bridge when I come to it" is actually a malaphor of the two you mentioned! Typically used for "I'm putting this off for later, but I'm sure I'll mess it up when I get there"
3:20 I love blair's take on albedo. he's now stuck in a human form with some slight galvan features. His dna has became so unstable he can't modify himself anymore without risking death.
“I’ll burn that bridge when I come to it” is actually a malaphor, combining 2 idioms into one. For example, “it’s not rocket surgery” which combines brain surgery and rocket science.
Asmuth did say he hated the craftsmanship and design of Albetos Ultimatrix so he probably converted it back into its prior design cause he prefered the esthetic of it, even Ben said he liked the old one better too.
I think it was Ben who did it, whether by causing it to recalibrate like the old one did in the first episode of AF or by using his smart aliens to upgrade it.
Ok so theory on why Eon fought Ben 10,000 in the beginning. He was making a diversion for the Sotobro effect. When there was a ripple it would cover Eons movements and then nobody would question it because Ben used clockwork
I love the Ben 10 transformation gimmicks...for the villains. Albedo using Ultimate Aliens and Kevin from the reboot with his mutated alien forms. Giving them an "upgrade" to Ben's arsenal but with their twist and now Ben having to deal with the new power ups with his current abilities and his wit.
I think that Eon's goal and appearance being different actually makes sense. The hand of Armageddon that could save his race is destroyed- thus, he has the new goal of being the best and only Ben- who he is without the time race stuff. That's also why he had to come out of the omnitrix to get in the past, because he is no longer a time alien as that has been lost with the destruction of the hand, so he has become connected to the Ben of this timeline.
9:31 I like to think that the reason why they made ultimate Ben able to obtain the abilities of his aliens without physically transforming into them is so they don’t have to design adult versions of Bens aliens since they always reuse the same design for every individual alien
My theory was always that when Eon was thrown into the HoA he was merged with a future version of Race Against Time Ben and had merged memories making him believe he was a Ben and kinda losing his chronian memories
I think the reason why the Eon at the end was revealed to be another ben was because it was the transformetion from race agaenst time and the one from the begining of the episode was the real Eon. When he was deafeted he was banished from ultimate ben's timeline which got disconected from the ben prime timeline at some point or was never the same timeline in the first place
23:10 My personal belief is that Eon during his cross-time travels found and defeated a Ben 10,000 in the same manner he tried to do to race against time Ben, and once he was rejuvenated via the power of that one's omnitrix, he realized he still couldn't return to race against time Ben's world, is forced to give up on saving his race in that timeline, and decides to begin hunting alternate Bens down, trying to gain enough power and minions to take down and rewrite the prime timeline (this episode), which would allow him to both eliminate all Bens and rewrite time to revive the chronians if he so chooses.
Here's what I've been thinking, people seem to confuse the creation of the ultimatatrix as being albedos, but in reality it was an unfinished azmuth Omnitrix core that was stolen before he could put all the necessary safe locks into it. if azimuth has the ability to remove the core of the Omnitrix at any time, what exactly stopping him from replacing it with the ultimatatrix core?
Also, Ben saying "I'll burn that bridge when I get to it" is an example of something called a Malaphor, which is when you mix 2 metaphors, or idioms. So its a combination of "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it" & "don't burn your bridges". What I've seen on the saying it means that when you reach some sort of obstacle in life, you're certain you'll mess it up in some way.
10:14 I think he's referring to fighting Eon when he was 16 in that same episode, but from Eon's point of view, that hasn't happened yet, and that's why he says it wasn't him.
My theory is that when Eon was knocked into cross time, his past became twisted and changed, altering him into becoming a future version of ben. So he was originally a chronian, but cross time literally altered his past.
The way I always imagined Paradox coming in and out of scenes is that he's "listening" to timelines to make sure he gets the "correct" one that's currently working with. So him answering Kevin's question isn't that far-fetched, at least to me.
Ben 10000, while surely could have been better executed, seems like an exciting character. Although I must admit that seeing him use the powers of varying aliens and not physically transform does take the fun out of the action scenes. Like it's the transformations' individuality that makes them feel like separate characters. Here they feel just like they are no longer that personal to Ben
Ben 10,000 Returns first introduced me to the concept of the multiverse. 10:39 maybe he was referring to when they fight in present day Bellwood and is in denial that will be him. 17:01 That was probably Gwen 10,000’s plan, she didn’t want to create a paradox just to give Ben 10,000 a wake up call. 21:23 I think he still has Ultimate Humungasaur’s powers. My theory is that when he ‘switching’ he is actually adding alien powers to his current form and keeping the ones he has already activated. 28:05 Ultimate Ben would survive he’s from an alternate timeline. 28:32 not every quip has to be accurate.
31:05 It's called a malaphore. When you combine two metaphors like figures of speech into one. Hell, "I'll burn that bridge when I come to it" is so commonly stated.
Ok, I know nobody likes super arrogant Ben, but why do I actually love arrogant Ultimate Ben. That “I’m you, only even more awesome.” line did it for me.
I've actually thought a little bit about why Ultimate Ben's Ultimatrix looks like the Alien Force Omnitrix, and it actually has to do with Paradox saying that Ben didn't have to destroy the Omnitrix in his fight with Vilgax. We know that the Ultimatrix isn't actually the whole device Ben is currently wearing. When we first hear about it as Asmuth's greatest creation, it's only the dial, which Albedo then puts into his device to make it work. So if Ben never destroyed the Omnitrix, he probably got the Ultimatrix back from Albedo and returned it to Asmuth, who then replaced the Omnitrix's dial with the Ultimatrix as a reward and show of trust to Ben for defeating Vilgax and Albedo again.
@@wingedbluj1674 As I said, the Ultimatrix is the dial part, which was stolen by Albedo. Azmuth believes that the workmanship that Albedo did was pathetic and inferior. In the episode we first see it, Myaxx calls it Azmuth's greatest creation (at the time), to which he says the thief wouldn't be able to make proper use of it without knowledge on how it works.
That's what I've been thinking, people seem to confuse the creation of the ultimatatrix as being albedos, but in reality it was an unfinished azmuth Omnitrix core that was stolen before he could put all the necessary safe locks into it. if azimuth has the ability to remove the core of the Omnitrix at any time, what exactly stopping him from replacing it with the ultimatatrix core?
Honestly I think it'd be interesting if Ben took the ultimatrix and replaced the core on the omnitrix by himself. That would certainly be another reason azmuth doesn't want to give him the final omnitrix Plus yeah it's likely cores can be switched around, the unitrix core for example I think could have been originally for the watch, but used outside of the watch it absorbed dna and became sentient on its own. As for why ultimate ben has the same memories I'm not 100 percent on that though ben owning the ultimatrix and destroying the watch and ben taking the ultimatrix core to put in the watch wouldn't affect that much? Greg would still be around, azmuth, even while particularly angry with ben, would still have to help him etc etc. The power seems to come from the core so ultimate kevin would still be around aswell
I feel like this episode would benefit from being a two parter. Have a few scenes with the future cast expanded on, then have Ben 10,000 tell a Future Kevin & Gwen that they aren't needed for this time travel adventure since Ben 10K doesn't remember them being there. With the first part end revealing that Eon reworked the Hands to free him & him actually disintegrating Prime Ben. Then the 2nd part could have the present & future versions of Kevin & Gwen trying to find a solution while Ben 10K is stuck as Clockwork because the moment he reverts back the timeline would catch up to him. Allowing the audience to get used to Clockwork's abilities & set up for how they would fix this problem. With future Gwen's help & future Kevin 11K fighting off Eon, present Gwen uses her time travel spell to send Herself, Kevin & Clockwork Ben 10K back to when the three of them arrived at the museum. They try to explain to a confused trio what's going to happen but their all blasted by Eon's Time rays, disintegrating Kevin & Gwen while almost draining Ben 10K's remaining charge. But gives hims just enough time to unlock this Ben's Clockwork transformation & the key to Eon's defeat. As Clockwork's hologram loads up, Eon blasts and disintegrates this Timeline's version of Gwen & Kevin. Motivating Ben to transform into Clockwork & try to fight Eon, but he's still to weak. Almost getting destroyed, like how Ben 10K appeared to destroy Eon at the start of the story. So Ben kicks it up a notch! Transforming into Ultimate Clockwork! A Humungousaur-sized gundam-like golem with the ability to create clock themed weapons. Like clock hand wrist blades, co-co springs in his joints & alarm-bombs. With the last few minutes of the 2nd part being an Ultimate Clockwork vs Eon battle, end with Ultimate Clockwork return to the point where Eon first arrived & was about to blast Waybig. Chopping down with an Axe in the shape of a grandfather clock's pendulum, cutting the hands in half & saving the timeline. With Ultimate Clockwork seeming to vanish in a flash of Green light & Prime Ben somehow unlocking the Clockwork transformation. But Paradox warns Ben (along with the Old George warning) to NEVER use that form of Clockwork unless absolutely necessary. As while Ultimate Clockwork gained a vast amount of firepower, it lost its reasoning. Making that Ben become an machine that only focused on how to keep the timelines safe, which is why (after the gates were destroyed) that version of Ben erased its own compromised timeline (including itself) from the timeline.
@@ardzzz1010 True, or just reworked as a proper 3 parter. Like the Finally of Ultimate Alien, but I'm sure that will be hit on when this series gets to it.
I said it in the Race Against Time video, but my enjoyment of this episode becomes exponential when I try to find ways to rectify it with the movie. My personal headcanon: -Eon is a Chronian, everything about his motivation and backstory from the movie is still true. -In one timeline, Eon succeeds in his plan to essentially reincarnate into Ben through the Omnitrix, and this Ben-Eon steps into the role of Eon Prime ("two cannot exist in one world") -Despite his success, his plan still fails, and he has to go back in time to try it again. This happens repeatedly, because each time, excessive use of his powers ages/damages Ben-Eon, so he has to keep reincarnating into Ben as he did the first time. -But through the loop he keeps failing in different ways. Maybe Paradox stops him one time, maybe Ben exerts enough control to use his powers to destroy The Hands, maybe the Chronian invasion happens but his people turn on him, so he deems it a failed timeline. Point is, he's caught in a loop. -Since he reincarnates into Ben each time, and he's essentially hacking the Omnitrix to do it, the resulting Eon transformations are a little more human/Ben each time. -The natural end/breaking of the loop is Race Against Time, where Ben is fully able to resist the transformation and become himself again. But the Eon from within the loop still exists (for simplicity sake let's say it's the specific one from Race Against Time) and he's essentially a 50/50 Chronian/Human hybrid, with Ben's personality and Eon's personality all swirled up together. THAT'S who UA Eon is, still a Chronian but one altered by Ben's personality. Getting knocked into the Hands of Armageddon essentially just knocked him out of his loop. tldr: Race Against Time is still canon, but Eon was caught in a timeloop which caused the Omnitrix to basically fuse him with Ben, which drove him insane.
I always thought Eon was a Ben because in the past he had successfully transformed a Ben into a younger and healthy copy of himself. And had the minion bens as backups when he needs to do so once more, his desire to destroy all Ben's in this sense would mean make them all Eon's. Or Eon minions.
Maybe this Ben 10000 DID get the completed omnitrix, but found a setting that allows him to alter how it looks, and he just decided to switch back to the recalibrated version's design? Like how you can change the band on a regular watch to give it a different look, maybe the completed one has that feature too and Omniverse Ben just hasn't discovered the option yet. (Or Ben 10000 just added it himself for his own convinence)
I love Ultimate Ben because he finally gets what he's always wanted for him to be the hero... He's always had this kind of disconnect with his aliens were he considers them as different entities from himself that's why he gives them names for them to be heroes in their own right even though he knows they are all just him but now he gets to be the Hero not his aliens him that's why he's always day dreamed about Ultra Ben
Eon is still an alternate Ben in Omniverse, hence why he gets erased by the Chronosapien Time Bomb along with the other Bens. And he still has the same voice as Ben 10,000.
Maybe it was a another timeline that had similar events from the ones of Race against time. That’s why Eon says that he’s not the same one, that could explain why his backstory is changed.
19:41 and it won't be the first time Ben chooses the wrong alien because he wasn't paying attention. I feel that Omnitrix and Ultimatrix sometimes change the order of the aliens and Ben doesn't notice
15:09 I think it's because he stops counting how many aliens he has after 10000 (at least that's what I remember hearing in one episode, but I can't say now which one or if I'm remembering wrong)
A Ben 10,000 with Ben's lighthearted personality is why this episode was (and still is) my favorite. Granted, you're definitely right, they could have done this execution a whole lot better. I've always thought the "That wasn't me!" Line was a fourth wall break because it's not the same actor as in Race Against Time, and they've also changed the backstory.
Idk with others but I still appreciate the ultimatrix. I honestly would’ve preferred if Ben kept the ultimatrix in omniverse and they can dive deeper into the benefits of going ultimate, which wasn’t utilized as greatly in ultimate alien.
I doubt you remember Kuro but back in the Benwolf review, I brought up how a former friend of mine ended our friendship because of me saying to him that "I don't care about Ben x Julie" but there was another reason he ended it and that was me bringing up Derrick J. Wyatt calling the idea of Ultimate Ben stupid, which I agree with DJW since it pretty much nullifies the reason why Azmuth created the watch in the first place; to walk a mile in a alien's shoes. If Ben only uses one form that allows him to uses his aliens' powers, it ruins the Omnitrix's whole reason for it existence.
I alway thought Eon was a Ben that transformed in to Eon's race but it took over his body like Ghostfreak tried to do and the reason he can't transform is that he is already is.
I agree with you about the gimmicks, Kuro. It is okay if they come from a glitch or used by Albedo, but if feels out of place when Ben uses them. This is why I like the first 6 seasons of this franchise so much. Well, that and Ben's personality and growth.
Despite the retcons, I prefer UAF Eon than Omniverse Eon. He is more intimidating in UAF and destroyed Bens aliens by himself, as Omniverse Eon serve Vilgax And Maltruant and took loss. I love Omniverse, but I don’t like the way Eon become later, but I love the design changes.
UAF Eon is really raw. The amount of lines they've written him is so good. My favorite line is "I'm FREE", then actually killing Way Big and laughs maniacally.
@@mechajay3358 exactly like sure they might have done something like that in UAF but I give them points for trying the omniverse interpretations of the returning villains just gave up (except for filler villains like Animo or villains that already gave up like the forever knights)
I’ve seen that animatic before! It’s cool and short, highly recommend. While I think the holograms are cool, I think the one in animatic was cooler. As for the different Eon versions, I kinda like the Omniverse Eon better. Maybe because I REALLY liked the episodes with the other versions of Ben. I’m biased. I think it’s cool that Ben could grow up into a villain. The movie one is cool too.
I'm willing to bet that the "I'll burn that bridge when I come to it" line was an intentional spin on the regular phrase, I've heard that particular play on it a few other times as well.
I think the absolute best way we can make the Transformations of Ultimate Ben 10k work is by allowing, Him to first gain the powers of the alien he chooses at first. Then if he decides to change himself and become more like the alien he can and obviously if he needs to become more of that alien he will. Untill he fully transforms into that Alien, It is possible for that to happen because of his Omnitrix.
Ben Classic: Haha cool watch go brrr
AF,UA, and Omniverse: *Time travel shenanigans*
You know what really sucked about this ultimate gimmick, at least for ultimate swampfire is that he is very wasted, and this is the last time he is used, by ben. His last true appearance is Night of the Living Nightmare. Where it's just him and a bunch of other common aliens ben uses walking toward albedo.
I have a theory, Because Ben is older in this episode (Ult Ben), I think that the device is a way to transfer the dna into his own Dna
When will the next ultimate evolution episode gonna released
That’s actually clever symbolism.

I think Ultimate Ben 10k had children.
"See, he could have at least gotten these balls on his feet"
Ben 10k just pops out his heelies when he becomes XLR8

@@Strike-hopper yeah, true that....
It all just about makes sense if you think about it that way.
man, theyll need to make a spinoff show just explaining eon's backstory, but this actually makes sense that the RAT ben got stuck as eon
@@22Hammy wasn’t it always made clear that Eon in Rat was Ben’s future self corrupted by the Cronian DNA
Granted, when I do fanfics, I usually base them off the episode I'm on, not really changing much except for just adding my OC and a few more interactions to make like "okay, this oc is part of the story, but she has her own plotline going too"
Bro really ended his entire existence just to spite Azmuth.

@Random Idiocy Maybe? Hard to say. If the Ben 10 Omniverse is truly infinite, then yeah, cuz anything should be possible in it
I feel like his ability to stay in human form is a response to the original ben 10000's refusal to turn human until og ben convinces him.
That would have been pretty interesting as opposed to what we got
I feel you could still keep it in line with Ben's character as Ben definitely cares about his transformations and sees them as real people, so you could see it in a way this Ben 10K stopped caring about hai transformations outside of the power they could give him and just put too much stock in his humanity forgetting that the Omnitrix was about becoming and experiencing what others species are like
@@blastthechaos6083 ooh I really like that
This is such a strange episode, it re-introduces such a unique and interesting villain concept in Eon (who is actually a Ben Tennyson gone mad) and I feel like starts the inspiration for the numerous Bens we see appear later on in Omniverse.

Of course nothing will ever beat Ben transforming into Aliens, which come on, it’s one of the main things we love about the franchise. ❤️🔥
Still, while Ben 10 always had comic book feel to it it's not completely identical.
Good point! I still don't like it but I don't minding either Em
I also just realized that the hologram thing with Ultimate Ben was similar to how Vixen's powers are shown
Dwane macduffy did work on both shows
They're very similar, but Vixen's powers also allow her to grow wings and claws (which look like holograms/spirits).
Especially since a Ben did defeat him.
The problem is with aliens like cannon bolt or goop, whose powers are their body's physiology
@@pablosilva6932 that was probably why his gimmick was to stay in human form instead of the shapeshifting version cuz these aliens would’ve compromised it heavily
@@pablosilva6932 goop could be how Ultimate kevin did it while cannonbolt at minimum needs the back so just rolls around
Dude! I have thought of that same idea myself!
That’s what I thought was gonna happen when I was watching this breakdown.

Setback does sound better for a time based alien
I think DJW said they would’ve liked to explore more of Eon’s backstory, yet having the most appearances in Omniverse, it’s still the same as ever.
I think we missed this due to canceled last 2 seasons

I would also take it while it mutates and restructure Ben,I would say it restructure his body enough to not permanently damage his body and can maintain his alien form
And the green extras are basically the energy that is used to build the extra meat off Ben
If you seen Reincarnated as a Slime anime. This was the thought I took it off from

The later parts of UA really felt like it was based on a checklist of story element requirements: Movie Adaptations, Importance for Forever Knight, Classic Story Element Expansions (Viktor, Ripjaws lore, Ben 10,000, etc) and just a lot more stand alone stories
We haven’t gotten a important forever knights episode yet though
@@axelnilsson5124 it’s comin soon, if I remember correctly they’re pretty important towards the end
Aww that's nice
Or she got inspired by ben naming his aliens and that's why she named her spells and her teaching ben making it come full circle ben inspiring her and her inspiring ben to name spells now that's cute
And not to mention Ben is embracing is ¼ side.

Chromastone would be a good choice, too.
Once again, Kuro, the Ben 10 man, blesses us with breakdowns. I am hyped for the next arc!
Honestly, I love the idea of Ultimate Ben only transforming the parts of his body necessary for his powers.
Kuro talking about how much Ben doesn't need gimmicks is exactly why I think Ultimate Aliens are implemented well. Like Kuro said, they're not really that of a big deal. They're basically just new transformations.
So, do you prefer when Ben going ultimate isn't treated like a big deal? Like it's just another alien?
@@TyandOnGoing oh yea that would've worked so well
21:16 He already took Humungousaur on his back without much trouble in the episode where Albedo first appears, and this is a Jetray from the future, so he should be strong enough to smooth a crashing ship
The anticipation building up to Ultimate Ben 10k getting that hotdog was immeasurable.....until Kuro snatched it away. He took away the poor man's lunch.
Gwen is the ultimate “yeah I probably coulda done this all myself and the writers are never going to explain why I don’t”
When Ultimate Ben says “I threw in a few new ones” to Ben prime, this is pretty much how Ben unlocked Gravattack as Albedo also uses Gravattack in Omniverse.
What
@@Strike-hopper Yeah , It's canon. This is the reason why gravattack is the only omniverse alien to have a ultimate form
The irony being that this is the fans paying more attention to continuity than the people behind the shows. There has been a statement that "yeah, admittedly the idea of Albedo only having the aliens that were unlocked at that time does not make sense with gravattack", even tho it evidently does.
Eon probably didn’t need Ben to send him back in time, but as he likely realised he couldn’t beat future Ben, he staged his death in order to trick Ben, which technically worked since it was paradox that told Ben it wasn’t over
29:00 Kuro.exe has stopped working 😂

Xlr8 could make him slimmer, clockwork could make him cyborg like, heatblast is easy magama hands etc.
i love the running joke of Kuro getting annoyed when Gwen does something so powerful. Also is the airing date off by a year?
I can feel his annoyance about Gwen's power coming out of no where
There should be a count of how Gwen's Power came out of nowhere counter or somethin.
That could be true!
Remember that kuro use to fix that flashback young gwen?
Kinda wish he kept the ultimate transformation function though
I think it was Ben who did it, whether by causing it to recalibrate like the old one did in the first episode of AF or by using his smart aliens to upgrade it.
When Eon says “That wasn’t me”, I think it’s because Ben 10,000 fought him from the future
Then how about the original?

My theory was always that when Eon was thrown into the HoA he was merged with a future version of Race Against Time Ben and had merged memories making him believe he was a Ben and kinda losing his chronian memories
I think the reason why the Eon at the end was revealed to be another ben was because it was the transformetion from race agaenst time and the one from the begining of the episode was the real Eon. When he was deafeted he was banished from ultimate ben's timeline which got disconected from the ben prime timeline at some point or was never the same timeline in the first place
23:10
My personal belief is that Eon during his cross-time travels found and defeated a Ben 10,000 in the same manner he tried to do to race against time Ben, and once he was rejuvenated via the power of that one's omnitrix, he realized he still couldn't return to race against time Ben's world, is forced to give up on saving his race in that timeline, and decides to begin hunting alternate Bens down, trying to gain enough power and minions to take down and rewrite the prime timeline (this episode), which would allow him to both eliminate all Bens and rewrite time to revive the chronians if he so chooses.
Just starting the video. Regardless of what will be it's score, i absolutely love this episode ❤️✨ and always will ❤️✨.
I personally do like the Reboot gimmicks and Omniverse gimmicks. The Fulmini upgrades and Omnikix armor are personally my favorites.
Ultimate Ben's way of "transforming" is my favorite. Reminds me a lot of Vixen
It’s my favorite because he’s the only one who does that since we never saw anything like that before or after this episode
I don't think he is an alternate future, since Paradox himself said that he is the real future
31:05
It's called a malaphore.
But why does he have the Prime version's memories?
Except Azmuth would destroy the Ultamatrix, as he views it as an inferior device.
That would certainly be another reason azmuth doesn't want to give him the final omnitrix
Plus yeah it's likely cores can be switched around, the unitrix core for example I think could have been originally for the watch, but used outside of the watch it absorbed dna and became sentient on its own.

I said it in the Race Against Time video, but my enjoyment of this episode becomes exponential when I try to find ways to rectify it with the movie. My personal headcanon:
-Eon is a Chronian, everything about his motivation and backstory from the movie is still true.
-In one timeline, Eon succeeds in his plan to essentially reincarnate into Ben through the Omnitrix, and this Ben-Eon steps into the role of Eon Prime ("two cannot exist in one world")
-Despite his success, his plan still fails, and he has to go back in time to try it again.
Way too nifty and complicated for the flimsy lore and writing staff of Ben 10
That’s basically what Kuro did in 5YL
As someone who plays a sorcerer in D&D it hurts so bad when Gwen busts out an overpowered spell against a crowd of goons and never uses it again
20:59 I think the projector is following the body, which is not 100% resisting the movement
I still can't grasp what they were trying to do with Eon after all this time and Omniverse just gave up trying to explain him lol
I absolutely loved this episode ❤️✨. This hyped me up so much as a kid. And to this day i still enjoy it a lot.
It's time for the moment we've all been waiting for!
Yea
Ben could have recalibrated his ultimatrix to look like this as in the second Eunice episode he said how much he preferred his old Omnitrix
Yeah some of the returning villains in omniverse is arguably worse than they were before and the biggest examples of that is Eon and Vilgax
UAF Eon is really raw.
