    Interesting that Humongousaur made an appearance in every map piece episode.
    1. His failed beat down on Greg

    3. Having an Ultimate appearance

      although ben didn't use him in forge of creation, his hologram appeared there when 10 year old ben is checking the ultimatrix, so I think humunguosaur appeared in all of the map of infinity episodes.

      The omnitrix might've been getting in those Humungosaur transformations when Ben didn't need them because he usually always wants but never gets him. So the omnitrix can say it still gives Ben Humungosaur for whenever he complains.

    I will admit that even though the Ripjaws scene is short, and a little underwhelming, it is a pretty realistic transformation. He was used when absolutely necessary, got the job done, then reverts back before the lack of oxygen takes hold (presuming that's still a problem). Plus the transformation really was a nice surprise at the time, kinda like the Ghostfreak one later down the line.

      That is the thing that sucks about Ripjaws. At this point, Ben has so many Aliens that do what Ripjaws does, but better because they can also breathe above water, like Jetray, AMPfibian, and presumably Brainstorm as well. There's basically no reason to use Ripjaws anymore.
      Hell, even in Classic, he didn't get much love. He got used a decent amount in Season 1 & 2, but he only popped up twice in Season 4, and one was a mistransformation. And he didn't show up AT ALL in Season 3.

    • @varuhash50
      @varuhash50 2 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      I guess this also sets up how the Omnitrix works in OV, where the alien Ben turns into depends more on the circumstances and setting than what Ben actually wants. Like when he got Astrodactyl, he was on its homeworld and surrounded by Khybers Panucian, or like you said when Ghostfreak returned in both UA and OV. Heck even in Classic.

    Dont really wanna do this but:
    - Ben gives the map piece to Kevin and then he and Gwen go to save the sentinel and distract Greg until Kevin riches the ship;
    - After distracting Greg for enough time Kevin signals them that they are ready to fly away;
    - Gwen teleports everyone including the guard inside the ship and they all celebrate the victory;
    - Greg shows up from within the debree of the cube and shots the RB3 with lasers and ampiri energy;
    - the RB3 is now drifting half destroyed along with half destroyed Perplexahedron into space;
    - Either into a mana buble or in they suits the trio realize that the map piese is lost floating within that chaos;
    - Greg now shows the other pieces he has and the missing one slowly floats and reunites with all of the others;
    - Greg teleports or fly away while Ben almost has a mental breakdown and he shots Gregs name once more but the camera is set outside of the mana buble so the scream has some type of filters or is even muted because there is no sound in space;
    - Episode ends. The next one starts with them still floating in there. They get teleported to Galvan 2. The Sentinel dies and Azmuth goes from calmly recaping theyr failure to screaming at them like an old angry man.
    There...I did it...

      I dont think its a plot hole, since Paradox main goal isn't to protect the map at all cost but instead to make sure the timeline flows into a optimal future, it clear he knew how things would turn out and that Agreggor would ultimately fail so him getting the pieces wasn't a problem, and these events most likely needed to happen so that Ben, Gwen and Kevin would mature and grow into greater heroes

    A lot of people kind of underestimate just how strong Kevin is just using his powers normally (aka absorbing materials into himself and physically becoming that material). A lot of people think he can just shape-shift a little and gets a durability boost, but they forget his bones and muscles are made of the material he absorbs at that point. Just imagine how much strength can be produced by someone with a humanoid muscle structure made of steel or harder materials. If you were to squeeze someone as hard as you can like that, it would be like getting crushed by a hydraulic press.

      I never understood why Kevin never tried absorbing and utilising energy, like electricity or fire, the flashback of his dad shows it should be possible; also, despite his powers being described as "capable of absorbing matter, energy and powers", he seems to focus only on solid matter, but what about liquids and gases, could he turn himself into water?

    • @kaiyamazaki1684
      @kaiyamazaki1684 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@mastergreeen1385 I can kind of understand not using liquids or gases since that could be dangerous to test in an Uncontrolled environment. Turning into one of those things without knowing how to control it could end up getting you killed since he may turn into them in those cases. But energy is a different matter. We've seem Kevin absorb electricity in the original series and the reboot I believe so he can canonical do it with no issue, seems like having power cells or energy ammunition on hand might be useful to him.

    I'd like to imagine that the reason Ben held on to the piece of the map of Infinity instead of giving it to Kevin like he should have, was because he needed it to navigate back to the Sentinel's room and then back to the ship.
    There was that hint that the map piece was the thing that was leading him to the ship in the first place, so it's not a stretch to imagine that whoever holds it basically has the ability to traverse the Perplexahedron effortlessly and the rooms order themselves to the holder's preferred destination.

      I'd believe you if that clearly wasn't true. Kevin was able to get back to the ship no problem, and he wasn't holding a map piece. Gwen's Plumber Badge was also leading them back to the ship. Maybe Ben would need it to get back, but to me, the implication was that since the Map Piece was removed, all the traps and shifting rooms of the Perplexahedron were disabled, so Ben probably would've been able to get back to the Sentinel without it.
      Of course, I'm not going to fault Ben for not thinking that in the moment, he's under extreme stress

  • @gildarmesh3809

    I always assumed the doors being different was intentional as it makes it more of a maze and gives each room a differentiation for the audience. The mana "not lining up" could be the start of the path and not where it connected to that room via the first door so it makes more sense for shifting as well. Fans work by using tilted blades to pull or push air... those blades were not tilted so they were not pushing or pulling strong enough to do much even counting the sharpness being slightly angled. (could have been fixed with slight shadows)

    my theory on how aggregor made those constructs: galapagus’ species, geochelone aerio, is noted as being VERY mana-sensitive, hence why Addwaitya is seen as the most powerful magic user in the series, and since now we know that charmcaster and gwen’s mana constructs are different colors, AND gwen’s magic was normally depicted as being blue in the classic series, I’d say aggregor was using his own novice version of a mana shield. but that’s just a theory.

  • @Hadeks_Marow
    @Hadeks_Marow 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I like to think that power belongs to the turtle guy. They are known to be very in tune with life energy. . . him visiting the realm of magic might have unlocked his magical potential and what we are seeing really IS mana like gwens. This could ALSO explain why gwen can't track him anymore. That being that he can now pull a dragon ball and "suppress his power level now that he has access to his ki", or in this case, mana, which gwen uses to track.

    4:40 Problem with that idea is that, once you figure out how to get one piece, you pretty much figure out how to get them all. With how Paradox did this, you need a wide variety of knowledge and powers in order to not only figure out where the pieces are and how to reach them but also to do so.
    6:07 Well, Terraspin's species can manipulate mana. So maybe a mix of Galapagus and Ra'ad.

    Aggregor to be reminds me of the quote from Thanos "The Hardest Choices Require The Strongest Wills", in that Aggregor keeps winning because he's willing to do anything, while Ben and the others are held back by their morals and fears. It took Kevin making a big scarfice to actually beat the man, and it certainly affects Ben during the ultimate Kevin arc because last time he held back, they almost lost to Aggregor. So while I wish Aggregor could have been a more well rounded character/we got to know more about him, I do love the effect he has on the characters.

    Felt like the inclusion of Ripjaws was made entirely pointless by him not showing up ever again- which of course this episode had no control over, but still.
    As a moment on its own it comes off as “wow, Ben pulled an old one casually that we didn’t even know was re-unlocked! He’s getting real good with this new watch and is a versatile hero”. Outside of that moment though, he rarely ever does stuff like that again, so it’s like… did they forget a big part of the premise was how many aliens he has or was there some kind of network mandate that prevented them from capitalizing on it?

    12:50 I don’t know if you’ll read this but I guess it’s worth a shot.
    In my opinion, sometimes I think Ben doesn’t quick change because maybe he kind of goes:”Eh, wasnt what I wanted but I can still make this work” after all in the classic series he’s had tons of practice adapting to the omnitrix’s mistakes on the fly.
    I know the meta reason is just to make it a callback to the original but I do believe in some cases this can be explained in a character choice as one of Bens defining traits as a hero is his adaptability.
    “Yeah I wanted Waterhazard to douse this fire but maybe I can use Heatblast to calm the flames, I’m also immune to fire in this form so maybe I can use that to my advantage to”

    One of the most memoriable episodes in the Ben 10 history and they executed very well. Everything was enjoyable in this episode. The characters' personalities were well done. Especially Ben's. It redefined what kind of a hero he is once he put on the omnitrix from Alien Force. And the ending where Sentinel dies always gets me. It was a perfect build up for the "Forge of Creation" episode that is to be followed.

    Paradox probably made this thing in the most literal way possible, "one piece at a time", cause he's got infinite time on hands (and no ptobem with spending an infinite amout of time too), heck, that's probably how he must've cleaned up the mess afterwards too; just came in, took a piece of debris, dumped it somewhere/incinerated it, rinse and repeat

    I know they want to escalate Greg being a threat but they don't need to make Ben do the wrong choice like letting Greg escape from Pisciss and try to save Sentinel from Greg, they should've wrote it that Ben tried to stop Greg but got one shot as Greg hits him with electrokinesis that magnified by aquatic environments and Ultimate Big Chill 's vulnerability that Ben fainted and Ultimatrix switch him to Ripjaws to save him from drowning. And here, Greg was aware Ben has the fragment and fought him then used Sentinel as hostage, taking advantage of Ben's heroic nature and he will still get lectures for letting his morality gets the best of him, causing Kevin to tell Ben sometimes you must take the hard decision, even if it goes against everything he stands for, with Gwen being against it (as she tried to be pacifist).

    Stopping in the middle of the review to air out my thoughts on the conversation that Ben and Kevin have regarding how Ben views Kevin and how Kevin views himself. While it's a really sweet sentiment and I love the tender moment they have together in a long overdue heart to heart, it rings a little hollow after the events in the Forge of Creation. I understand that Kevin has given in to his Osmosian instincts and is on a rampage, I feel like Ben's sudden resolution to straight up kill him is very out of character after calling Kevin "The big brother he never had." With that kind of attachment, you would think he'd rather find a way to cure him instead of resolving to straight up put him down. The 180 Ben has in that regard feels very forced.

Even though this part is head canon, I do believe that they both had a conversation with each other about taking the other out if they were to go crazy with power. Based off of Kevin’s statement when he’s cured at least. Ben took killing Kevin seriously bc he knew he was the only one who could. The only one who could release Kevin from his imprisonment. Dooming the others, Ben in that moment knew Kevin couldn't protect the map piece if aggregor found him so he kept it knowing he and gwen could at the very least protect themselves even if aggregor got the map piece, i believe he didn't want to put Kevin in danger mostly because he doesn't want to potentially lose him but I also think partly because he knew aggregor would most likely destroy the ship aswell meaning both Ben and gwen would also be doomed
