Honestly the whole "Azmuth didn't help Malware enough" VS "Malware didn't have enough patience" thing for me comes down to how long Malware was stuck waiting. Like if it was only a few years then yeah, I can understand Azmuth's side of things. But if it was decades of waiting, I'd say Malware has a point.
@InevitableOption-ic2vxidk if its centuries or not but even if it were like 50 years between Malware's birth and this episode I'd still say Azmuth fucked up.
Azmuth is in the wrong, but he's not new to being in the wrong lmao, he didn't gave credit to Myaxx for assisting on creating the Omnitrix and he left it lost somewhere in the universe with people like Vilgax searching for it. Azmuth is intelligent, but he's also arrogant and a jerk sometimes. Doesn't excuse Malware's actions though.
This episode illustrates why Malware is my favourite Ben 10 villain due to his personal connection to both Azmuth and Ben while also being a threat in his own right.
Honestly, Malware is far better than Servantis since his motivations and twisted personality make sense when you consider how he came to be and his inferiority complex turning into an Albert Wesker-esque superiority complex. It also leads up to the creation of the Nemetrix, and by extent, Khyber's involvement in Omniverse.
Even when I was watching Omniverse as a kid I knew Malware was something else. Hes incredibly intimidating, very well animated with all of his powers, and he holds a ton of weight since hes one of the very few villains who actually scares Ben to his core. He hasnt been this screwed up by a villain since Vilgax or classic Kevin. And Corey Burtons vocal performance is top notch.
@mayotango1317 Well, when malware met ben again, bens tone seemed afraid, saying things like no it can't be or stay back I'm warning you so the trauma was probably returning
So glad everyone agrees Corey Burton is an amazing voice actor. The champ's been doing this since the 80s, and he's one of the many voice actors Derrick worked with on Transformers Animated. Except with Corey that was kinda like working with Yuri Lownethal for us. Corey Burton voiced Shockwave on the original show, and a lot of fans love him. On Animated he not only reprised his role, but got to play Megatron. Keep that in mind whenever Malware fights any of David Kaye's aliens. You're hearing a rematch.
What if max was talking to azmuth about the feedback issue? Maybe ben was stuck as feedback during the month or maybe max already noticed the ben and feedback situation and wanted to get azmuth 's opinion
Theres a couple of ben's original aliens I'd like to see malware fight: - Wildmutt, just because it'e be interetsing to see how Wildmutt sees him - Stinkfly, what would happen when stinkyfly's goo touches malware - Ditto, just think it'd be cool
Honestly, Malware probably wouldn't have been as memorable if it weren't for Corey. The man has a talent for voicing these kinds of characters. I mean, he's Shockwave, after all.
17:30. I would honestly like to see any of his aliens go up against Malware. But for original series aliens, the first one that comes to mind is Wildvine. Mostly because I like the idea of a technology alien going up against a plant alien.
Also to point out something about Blukic and Driba. Blukic is based on Butch Lukic and voiced by Paul Eiding, and Driba based on Dan Riba, and voiced by Eric Bauza.
You know part of me always wanted to see Ben accidentally transform into Upgrade just to see how Ben would do in a form that would be instant death for him against someone like Maleware
I’d love to have seen Upgrade VS. Malware purely for the potential threat it poses to Ben. Malware can do that thing that effectively kills mechamorphs, so having Ben have to go on such a sheer defense would’ve been interesting
Malware is my favorite ben 10 villain his character is just so fascinating how you can understand his logic and his anger while also clearly seeing how it all keeps escalating bcuz of his impatient when others where just trying to help (and like you pointed Azmuth is also a little to blame on not showing concern in how this made Malware feel). And yeah his design as the yellow version is absolutely amazing it totally sells the incomplete and sickly feel.
22:50 to answer that question Asmith was shutting down the helix which had these four energy prongs that stabilize the who thing so when it shut down it spit out what was left
9:34 I like both pronunciations for the same yet different reason: while the Omniverse pronunciation is more human the UAF pronunciation is more strange and due to him being an alien it makes sense for something like that
Malware is the antagonist Ben was ever more afraid of and didn't want to meet again. I mean he dissolved 3 times and kept coming back from the supposed dead.
I think the conversation with Azmuth was probably him asking questions on the Omnitrix to try to prevent issues and to help coach Ben to use it better. Maybe he asked Azmuth for a solution to always getting the wrong alien or to ask him to stop Ben from always picking the same one.
23:56 To play devils advocate for a second, Azmuth did spend an unknown amount of time on Xenon out of bitterness while Malware was waiting for a cure.
Yeah Azmuth fucking off to Xenon for who knows how long definitely didn't help things with Malware. It's never directly acknowledged but it makes sense if you think about it
If Malware did not borned during the between time of SOTO and Ov,than he probably been waiting for hundreds of years. Since this means he borned before Azmuth isolated himself by going to Xenon. "So a dangerous tech vampire has been begging you to fix him for YEARS and you told him you'd get around to it?" "You have no idea of the responsibilities I carry, Ben Tennyson." Azmuth did not dendy the time period, and simply said Ben oversimplfying the issue. So Malware really is neglected by Azmuth. İts not even out of character. Since Azmuth was preety ok with the destruction of the universe in SOTO.
Genuinely surprised you didn't give entertainment a 5. I think its arguable whether to give this a 4 or 5 but I'm curious about your reasoning aside from "oh its a flashback so we know there's no consequences". I think a good flashback is still worthy of a 5 if its entertaining enough especially since we finally see how malware came to existence, we know he's impatient, explained what he can do and why he's different, and also gave us a motivation or reason as to why he is the way he is.
Malware for me was always one of the most memorable villains in Omniverse and I'd even argue the entire Ben 10 saga. I can't wait to see your analysis of the arc. Also seeing feedback taken away from young ben still gives me chills.
20:42 Here’s some info on messing with the moon from your local science person. TLDR? Azmuth’s experiment on Galvan B would probably be perfectly safe. The reason messing with the Moon is a problem is that the Moon helps regulate the tidal forces on Earth via its gravitational pull. So moving or even outright removing large portions of the moon (thus changing its gravitational field) would cause the tides to suddenly change, producing massive waves and permanently changing the tidal currents. However, simply adding an atmosphere to eventually allow for habitation? That’s perfectly safe provided the air you add doesn’t add to much mass to the planet (and it shouldn’t). So Galvan Prime would be fine after Azmuth messed with Galvan B, unless he decided to take a MASSIVE chunk out of it.
Corey Burton is one of my all-time favorite voice actors. Malware is one of his best performances. The character combined the calculating apathy of Brainiac from the DCAU with the frigid malice of Megatron from Transformers Animated.
33:40 I do wanna say, about Max's talk with Azmuth, I just realised maybe it was about Feedback? Remember later on, in the episode where we learn how Ben lost feedback, before that happened Azmuth, Max and Gwen were talking to Ben about overusing Feedback. I feel it's implied in Feedback's first appearance that Ben had him for a while, so maybe Max was already starting to notice that Ben was overusing Feedback and went to Azmuth to talk about it and that lead to them sitting down to talk with Ben about it later on.
I forget where I read it, but it was something like “intelligent people develop a superiority complex because they spend so much time in their own heads” and I feel like that is a good way to sum up the Galvan’s attitude towards other species. Why they are so condescending from Azmuth and Albedo to the random Galvan soldier that insists on calling Malware a subspecies. They just are so full of their own intelligence, it makes them take a clinical, “we are always right because we are smarter” view towards every other species.
I actually do like that Malware was retconned to being the reason Ben took off the watch, but a part of me likes to head canon that he's part of the reason Azmuth cut ties with Albedo. By upgrading Malware he not only made one of Azmuth's creations even more dangerous and unstable but he also inadvertently caused Ben to lose Feedback after Malware destroyed him. At that point I don't think Azmuth would be on good terms with Albedo afterwards, it might not have been the nail in the coffin between the two but it was, in my opinion, probably the shovel that started the digging.
I feel that's unfair, it's not like Albedo predicted all this or was his intention and it's not like Azmuth cared in particular about Feedback that much aside from how it affected Ben
I think Malware’s upgraded and modern forms are his best and if the writer’s wanted, they could have made his modern form an upgraded combat form while his upgraded form could be his normal form. That way he can take his enemies by surprise if he so wished. Regardless, Malware is still one of the franchise’s best villains hands down.
You know, as someone who loves Omniverse to the point it's my favorite of all 5 series. These breakdowns just reinforced why it's my favorite and gives me a greater appreciation for this series than I already have, keep up the good work Kuro!👍
Malware scratching buildings and the buildings exploding reminds me of Thrax from Osmosis Jones, where everything his finger scratched melted or exploded
Malware was always in that S or A tier when it comes to villains for me the flashback of him in the season 3 premier (my favorite episode of Omniverse) made him truly awesome for me
The season 3 premiere is supposed to be the season 2 finale but Cartoon Network, as always, messed up the order they aired the episodes in. Cause I mean, logistically, why would you even have the conclusion of an arc as a season premiere?
It's likely that there's very specific minerals in the ground that comprise the Mechamorphs. I think the helix was preventing the materials that created the Galvanic Mechamorphs directly beneath it. Then, he finally sprang to life. It'd also explain why he's different since he'd have a longer gestational period before he came to life.
What if being stuck as feedback for a week was his favorite alien out of the four, which is what lead to his attachment to the alien throughout early omniverse.
Ah Malware. The only alien that killed one of Ben's aliens and led Ben into removing the Omnitrix until the events of Alien Force. Edit: 5:55 They forgot the green glow that happens when Ben transforms.
Completely understand that the channel is going in a different direction and I'm really excited to see what happens big ups to the new frontier But damn it feel good to have another breakdown 😂
8:00 that just makes me wonder why Myaxx ain’t there since she also assisted Azmuth in making the omnitrix and they even went to Galvan Prime together at the end of SotO
Malware was the goat. A cool idea that expands on your idea of Albedo reviving Malware instead of teaming up with Vilgax (for the 3rd time despite being betrayed the first 2 times) would be having Alpha return and having him and Malware meet (even seeing how similar they are) and fuse. Maybe Rex could bust out some new builds like the un-used concepts such as the Slick Trick.
I think the talk Max had was already told to us in the finale of Alien Force. He prolly had to argue the case that Ben needs to keep the Omnitrix because despite him being a child he’s decently adjusted and is highly capable.
In Omniverse’s logic, sure. But dang that would seriously be out of character if that was the case. Azmuth at that Omniverse flashback already accepted Ben to be highly capable already during his debut. And had let Ben get away with a slap on the wrist for much worse (Destroy All Aliens).
heres my theory as to why the scratched buildings exploded only the first time. he probably messed with the mechanical components actively as he scratched it since it looks like the buildings look like its pretty much completely machine
27:21 I don't think that scenario would happen. Malware despises Galvan so he would never work with Albedo. Even if Albedo somehow manage to persuade Malware to cooperate, there's no doubt Malware would either take advantage of Albedo and ditch him when things go south or he would double cross him at one point.
I love your passion for each series and how you compliment omniverse, It's nice to see more people appreciate the details and love put in OV Great work as always Kuro!
lately I'm seeing a lot of love for OV, like if in a video someone would say OV is bad (and u guessed it that person would have barely watched OV), the people would correct that guy in the comments by saying OV is good
@@theamazingspooderman2697 critics are annoying not gonna lie. I used to love tv shows and anime. Now I barely can watch it since most of them are just boring and feels outdated
My favorite form has to be the sleek red one. He doesn't look like he's suffering anymore, but he doesn't look monstrous, either. Malware is impactful for the same reason Vilgax was impactful: Ben didn't create them as he did Kevin 11(and unless you're a UAF purist, by extension Greg), Albedo, Billy Billions, Nemesis, Harangue or even Dr. Animo. He was simply in their way. But they fundamentally changed him. I feel like a lot of the flashback lines are less snarky and more juvenile. OS!Ben and ESPECIALLY Gwen acted like kids LARPing as teenagers. Ben was like midway between rowdy kid and bratty teenager and Gwen acted like her sequel personality was a role model she's emulating. OVFB!Ben and Gwen act like kids with some extra wisdom thrown in to remind the audience they're 11 and not 6. Gwen was probably allowed to touch Azmuth's equipment because by that point she's been established as better behaved i.e more likely to stop when told to. I'd actually like to see Juryrigg trying to outsmart Malware. As for his patience, I think it's part of his deficit, and that Azmuth interrupted its life code to prevent an even more catastrophic outcome. Plus as Ben just proved, the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and maybe Malware would still be broken had he not squeaked like a slaughtered pig. And I headcanon Chadzmuth helped Azmuth draft laws regulating the consequences of the scientific process he ushered, that they have a "natural sciences & humanities" duality Walt & Saul style.
Everything from Malware's origin and design to his threat level and the sheer trauma he put Ben through honestly reminds me of Ghostfreak from the original series ,in the best way possible. Malware, despite being softly retconned into the series' timeline, fits pretty well as one of Ben's arch enemies
I like to think that Ben spun the dial as like a "Spin the wheel" kind of thing. He wanted diamond head but was gonna leave it to chance, for a rush. Make the fight even more fun
Corey Burton is incredible in every role he has ever played but to me he will always be Brainiac. The calculating and emotionless voice he had as Brainiac was one of the first legitimate times I remember being blown away by the voice of a character as a kid.
I think Malware was actually a mecamoph that was about to be made but sadly never finished. It's why he was made after the machine turned off. He was not done being born. It can explain he has power to absorb machines, it was a mutation because he was born without the ability to merge. (Like how people born blind can have incrase hearing, except super alien logic. Which can explain why azmithe feels responsible, malware could have been a normal mecamoph if the machine was turned off a little later.
Am I weird for thinking Malware remindse of Cell? It's a such a cool coincidence that both of them start out as sort of unperfected creations and we get to gradually see their change. Not to mention both were amazing Villains
17:28 what i wanted to see before, was ben as uprade, vs malware. But i feel like upgrade would've end up being another victim of malware like what he did later on to the other mecha morphs.
A theory I have for what Max talking with Azmuth would be him noticing signs of Ben's Feedback dilemma or at least the early signs of it but its just a theory and it doesn't really hold weight. I enjoyed this episode growing up and wow Malware really is such a good villain and I forgot how dangerous he was and will eventually be in the future.
Malware is honestly my all time favorite Ben 10 villain, he was always a threat and didn't overstay his welcome, even though I would've loved to see him come back
Malware is my favorite Ben 10 villain. I love that they make full use of him being a Galvanic Mechamoprh, and while we're only seeing the start of his relationship with Ben, I love that he's one of the few villains that legitimately strikes fear into Ben after what he did to Feedback.
6:38 Never noticed this, but Khyber is wearing the Nemetrix here. He even still has it after the flashback is over. Considering he went nuts when he tried to do this later, this is a really weird thing to have him do.
It still amuses me to this day the episode itself goes "it's not that simple" about the Malware situation, and some fans still think they know better and that they know Azmuth just didn't care (him trying again and again over and over is evidence he does truly want to help)
Bro a channel like yours deserves millions upon millions of subscribers... I've been watching you guys ever since I can remember and you are truly underrated. Keep being awesome, love these videos :-)
I think the reason why the Malware arc was so well-developed, and the frog arc, but not any other arc was because they had only planned for 3 seasons. Thankfully, they expanded it from 3 to 5 and then further on but they didn't focus too heavily on stories. On the plus side, we got less and less flashback episodes whiich is a bonus

Azmuth is intelligent, but he's also arrogant and a jerk sometimes. Doesn't excuse Malware's actions though.
18:44 I mean yeah but he also seemed to have been keeping Malware completely in the dark about progress towards the cure for years
17:02 its funny how he said he wanted Diamondhead yet its a running gag in classic of how he never gets Four Arms
I never feel that teenager Ben was scared of him.
@@mayotango1317 Because u are a typical ov hater.
@@erkantiryaki5542 What the hell?
@mayotango1317 Well, when malware met ben again, bens tone seemed afraid, saying things like no it can't be or stay back I'm warning you so the trauma was probably returning
Corey Burton’s voice fits so well for Malware, and the mechanical filter they used reminds me of his time voicing megatron lol
They probably used the same filter. Since Derrick J Wyatt worked on transformers animated with him.
@@kermitgotthesickkicks4265 probably is
So glad everyone agrees Corey Burton is an amazing voice actor.
Never thought of it that way, heh nice
What if max was talking to azmuth about the feedback issue? Maybe ben was stuck as feedback during the month or maybe max already noticed the ben and feedback situation and wanted to get azmuth 's opinion
That's actually possible!
16:53 I don't think that counts as a wrong alien transformation because Ben says he was "hoping for diamondhead" and didn't choose him
He’s said like twice that it counts as a mistransformation if Ben doesn’t get the alien he wants regardless of anything
*reads title*
well, the design, the powers he has, and the fact that he can TRANSFORM INTO A FRICKIN KAIJU!!!
Its literaly godzilla earth 😂😂
27:01 The range of the Ben 10 voice actors is RIDICULOUSLY INSANE!!
Theres a couple of ben's original aliens I'd like to see malware fight:
- Wildmutt, just because it'e be interetsing to see how Wildmutt sees him
- Stinkfly, what would happen when stinkyfly's goo touches malware
- Ditto, just think it'd be cool
Wait, did we ever get to see OV's version of wildmutt vision? I can only remember OS doing that
@@GreaterGrievobeast55we do. Idk if it was in more episodes but the one I can remember is in Fight At The Museum.
@@erikpngWe also see no watch Ben seeing Gwen 10 in this vision
9:34 I like both pronunciations for the same yet different reason: while the Omniverse pronunciation is more human the UAF pronunciation is more strange and due to him being an alien it makes sense for something like that
The sense of dread I felt when malware absorbed Ben can only compete with the relief I felt when he turned into feedback
Malware is the antagonist Ben was ever more afraid of and didn't want to meet again. I mean he dissolved 3 times and kept coming back from the supposed dead.
Not even the vilgax did that
I think the conversation with Azmuth was probably him asking questions on the Omnitrix to try to prevent issues and to help coach Ben to use it better.
It's never directly acknowledged but it makes sense if you think about it
That makes solid sense.
If Malware did not borned during the between time of SOTO and Ov,than he probably been waiting for hundreds of years. Since this means he borned before Azmuth isolated himself by going to Xenon.
"So a dangerous tech vampire has been begging you to fix him for YEARS and you told him you'd get around to it?"
"You have no idea of the responsibilities I carry, Ben Tennyson."
Azmuth did not dendy the time period, and simply said Ben oversimplfying the issue. So Malware really is neglected by Azmuth. İts not even out of character. Since Azmuth was preety ok with the destruction of the universe in SOTO.
I'm glad you pointed out that this episode is one of Chromastone's 2 appearances in the entire series. At least it's better than Fasttrack or Jetray.
and his appearances are memorable, like in the finale when he appeared with alien x sword
Thanks for the facts bro.
Corey Burton is one of my all-time favorite voice actors.
Malware is one of his best performances.
The character combined the calculating apathy of Brainiac from the DCAU with the frigid malice of Megatron from Transformers Animated.
That's why he sounded so familar! 😂
Man, seeing the new breakdown notification literally made my heart race from excitement. I am sooo addicted!
You know, as someone who loves Omniverse to the point it's my favorite of all 5 series. These breakdowns just reinforced why it's my favorite and gives me a greater appreciation for this series than I already have, keep up the good work Kuro!👍
23:00 here I get the feeling he was powering down the machine causing a unfinished sample to leak out becoming Malware.
Yeah I figured it always felt out of place to me to have two big 2 parters like the Showdown and Frogs of War in the same season @@erikpng
@@erikpngit is sometimes and not always
It's likely that there's very specific minerals in the ground that comprise the Mechamorphs. I think the helix was preventing the materials that created the Galvanic Mechamorphs directly beneath it. Then, he finally sprang to life. It'd also explain why he's different since he'd have a longer gestational period before he came to life.
16:56 Kuro's reaction had me cackling
Also in case y'all didn't know 5YL is being uploaded to Line Webtoon too
Ben : *Uses the Omnitrix in a weird way*
Kuro : You little shit-
@@kamijounotouma5596I love when Kuro becomes toxic when that happens
What if being stuck as feedback for a week was his favorite alien out of the four, which is what lead to his attachment to the alien throughout early omniverse.
16:52 As you can see, Kuro’s soul is leaving his body yet again.
Ah Malware. The only alien that killed one of Ben's aliens and led Ben into removing the Omnitrix until the events of Alien Force. Edit: 5:55 They forgot the green glow that happens when Ben transforms.
Loving the breakdowns, and the little iterations you make to the OV theme song. "To make a pickle fine, you soak it in some brine" made me chuckle!
Completely understand that the channel is going in a different direction and I'm really excited to see what happens big ups to the new frontier
But damn it feel good to have another breakdown 😂
Truth haha
8:00 that just makes me wonder why Myaxx ain’t there since she also assisted Azmuth in making the omnitrix and they even went to Galvan Prime together at the end of SotO
could be in another room
My headcannon is that Myaxx was on vacation.
20:50 only if they’re significantly altering its mass or orbit or something. That’d start messing with the tides and other gravitational interactions.
Don't remember if this happened in the show, but Big Chill fighting Malware would have been fun to see.
They appeared in the same episode but we never actually see them fight
Big chill will freeze Malware ben tranform back to human then Malware break free form ice like almost every bad guy ben tried to freeze
Maybe
27:21 I don't think that scenario would happen. Malware despises Galvan so he would never work with Albedo. Even if Albedo somehow manage to persuade Malware to cooperate, there's no doubt Malware would either take advantage of Albedo and ditch him when things go south or he would double cross him at one point.
I love your passion for each series and how you compliment omniverse, It's nice to see more people appreciate the details and love put in OV
Great work as always Kuro!
Nice!
FACTS!!
lately I'm seeing a lot of love for OV, like if in a video someone would say OV is bad (and u guessed it that person would have barely watched OV), the people would correct that guy in the comments by saying OV is good
@@theamazingspooderman2697 critics are annoying not gonna lie.
"if the moon gets messed with even a little bit the whole planet goes to shit"
its fine azimuth took a page from piccolo's book on ignoring physics
Everything from Malware's origin and design to his threat level and the sheer trauma he put Ben through honestly reminds me of Ghostfreak from the original series ,in the best way possible.
Malware, despite being softly retconned into the series' timeline, fits pretty well as one of Ben's arch enemies
6:17 To answer that question, Ben was still covering his face from the blaster.
I love how dedicated you guys are to the channel even when you're doing less work you're putting in even more effort
30:54 Grandpa Max: "It's always the same plan"

Omni verse is pretty underrated, when I was little I was not a fan of the art style, but being older I can appreciate it
No, still is bad later.
Art is inherently subjective
@@mayotango1317that has nothing to do with what he said 💀
He plays his part very well. Except this episode everytime he faces Ben he will always have a goal not just try to kill Ben and get the Omnitrix
One of my favourite Ben/Max exchanges near the end of this episode "My plan always works"
"It's always the same plan" it really is, Ben
A theory I have for what Max talking with Azmuth would be him noticing signs of Ben's Feedback dilemma or at least the early signs of it but its just a theory and it doesn't really hold weight.
I enjoyed this episode growing up and wow Malware really is such a good villain and I forgot how dangerous he was and will eventually be in the future.
Malware is honestly my all time favorite Ben 10 villain, he was always a threat and didn't overstay his welcome, even though I would've loved to see him come back
19:46
THE CUTENESS! IT'S TOO MUCH!
Probably just carrying it around for safe-keeping, or to keep Zed from uncontrollably changing like in Outbreak
I love that rippling sound effect. Headcanon is that they're not speaking English at all and it's actually just the translator's noises
Malware is probably the best villain in Ben 10 Omniverse like ever. Also love how the arc introduced Feedback, best omniverse alien.
