This seems to be a serious MSI problem as I have seen hundreds of forum threads specifically relating to their 24" to 32" line of monitors having these glitched cold lines.. Maybe half a dozen relating to ANY other company. I have the Msi Optix G273 27" and these cold lines are ridiculously bad when the screen is anywhere under 60 fahrenheit. I Live in New England in a 138 year old house... it's currently the tail end of winter, and I don't have the best insulation in this place lmao. If your situation sounds anything like mine and you are reading this idk what to tell you other than the monitor is only going to get worse, hair dryer works for like 15 minutes then the lines come back... just save yourself the hassle and if you have an old monitor or even a small tv just use that, otherwise just give up lol it's not worth the hassle at all.
Had this issue going with my MSI Optix MAG27CQ going on about 4years now, fortunately I live in a warm climate so the lines usually only last a minute or so and then it fixes itself, I figured it was just a cheap capacitor gone bad. I also have one of the designer lights on the backside of my monitor burnout, but so far not a dead pixel *knock on wood*
I have 3 of these and it happens to 2 of them... thought my graphics card was going bad and affecting only 2 of the 3 outputs but then was like, it goes away after a while so it has to be something else. Now I know...

Mine does this well it's obvious it would happen since the monitor and the PC is older than me, I guess making an old PC a sleeper wasn't a good idea...
Had a single white horizontal line at the bottom of my old Philips LCD, disappeared by itself after about a month. Don't know what caused it, don't know how it fixed itself, was preparing to buy a new monitor since this one is pretty old (more than 10 years old), but i guess it still wants to live. :) Never had issues with Philips monitors before, but i was expecting this one to die at some point...
I think I have the same issue on my lg 27gp850-b. Cold boot it flickers above 100hz but after a while I can bump it up to 120hz and its fine. The monitor (165hz) isnt a year old and if I set it to anything above 120hz the flickering grows immensely. Very disappointing
@@shanesgettinghandy do you have any recommendations for a new gaming monitor? At this point I'm scared to experience the same issues again in the future
I have a MSI G271 too with exactly the same problem, and the warranty (2 years) expires 4 months ago :( It seens a pretty common problem for these monitors.
My AOC Agon also does the same thing. It's 4 years old so not worth fixing but still a shame as I paid over €600 for it. I have seen people on Reddit using it like this for years and it not breaking so it's not the end of the world if you just wait 1 min before using from cold boot.

Damn, this is exactly what is happening here, a thin horizontal line at the bottom starts flickering on the very first start up of the day when my LG IPS monitor is cold then about 1 minute + or - disappear. At least it disappears for now, I thought could be the HDMI cable, try to change but happens too on other port or DVI and other GPU, so should be definitely the monitor. Just for curiosity it's very unlikely that it could be a problem on the PCIe x16 slot in these situations right?
I have been having this problem for a week now, I see that for some ppl here its getting worse and worse over time. How long do I still have before im done?
Mine was minor for a few months, went away when it warmed up. Eventually it wouldn’t go away until I lowered the refresh rate. I guess it ultimately depends on how low of a refresh rate you’re willing to deal with. Mine still works today just fine but only at 60hz. It’s now a second monitor.
