this is probably the best DLC for CK3, before the video i was thinking that CK3 was a better role playing game than a strategy game. This DLC is exactly what the game needs to be fun.
CK3 *is* a strategy rpg lol the "strategy" part is very easy. Unless I purpousely roleplay and limit myself, I could literally restore the Roman Empire in less than 3 characters, CK3 is easy heck haha
Idk how easy it’ll be to mod this DLC, but prolly possible to make something that lets you play as a traveling merchant peddling goods! Modeling different wares and prices for them would be a massive pain, might be possible to fake convincingly though?
I know it is the Middle Ages, but with a mechanic like this I'd love to roam around as a Spanish Conquistador (actually making it to India) or as a Ancient Greek Hero travelling the world like Iason, Heracles or Odysseus... I hope future dlc's also expand on this, for example a Republic dlc with trade and seafaring could add a Pirate mechanic
It would have been nice if they added a "renowned adventurer" trait, which tracked, via xp, how much and how well you do given contracts. And rather than inflating stats even further, it would adjust the distribution of contracts you are offered. (Also certainly some way to track your reputation with particular clients, so that you could build up meaningful patronage. The implementation of just getting a bonus reward is rather shallow.)
