One of the things you can do with the unlanded characters is travel to areas with special retinue, like Constantinople with varagian veterans. Or polish areas with the op horsemen, or India with the op bowman and hire them for your mercenary group. It makes for some of the strongest armies possible.

Crusader Kings always differenciated itself from the rest of Paradox games in that it was about the rulers themselves rather than the nations, but CK3 in particular is slowly becoming the roleplay-heavy legend simulator that the series always aspired to be.
I think that's why CK3 and Stellaris are the two Paradox games I play, Stellaris does most things like economy, combat, diplomacy, and roleplay well enough, but it lacks in the actual attachment to leaders, and a story for them, so CK3 fills in that final niche for me.
@@POKENAR I found stellaris to be a bit lackluster (at least without the DLCs). I much prefer Europa Universalis in regards to economy/trade management. You can stack crazy bonusses if you know what you're doing

Love CK3, and I find videos of it lend themselves to some light roleplaying as your current ruler, including elements like playing up their traits and making sub-optimal decisions based on the kind of character they are, which you kinda accidentally did by making your ruler basically you.
In the Anbennar ck3 mod it is pre greentide so there will be no adventurer tags. I think powerful mage adventurers will be the most interesting if they can implement them (they will have powerful mage rulers since the war of the sorcerer king would occur during the time period of the ck3 mod if I recall)
Liking the ck3 videos so far:) Tho I personally enjoy a slower roleplay heavy and heavily modded playstyle, everyone plays the game differently so I wouldn't say "hey, go do that!" or something. My main problem with vanilla CK3 in regards to playing it myself is how easy it is, so I feel like as a player you have to set yourself your own challanges, tho that is obviously only relevant once you actually have "mastered" vanilla.
I'd love if instead of taking culture into account for building MAA they would allow location specific events to build them up, possibly through character events or not, just as an idea to "gotta catch 'em all" before settling imho.
Everything I've seen about it looks great. I've been burned in the past, but it feels like after a big dud (Legends of the Dead), they tend to come back with something really high effort.
yeah, and if you get higher levels of the trait it also increases your prowess by fame or devotion. Knight-Errant is a very strong trait and worth building into any martial build/conqueror. On the other hand, Gallowsbait and criminal contracts are also very rewarding.
I spent almost the entire game reviving Hellenism and spreading it across all of Europe My next heir is going to revert to Christianity and become a Christian warlord whose sole goal is to wipe out Hellenism.
The conqueror trait is overpowered nonsense. It's primarily intended to buff a handful of independent AI rulers so that they actually are a threat to players. It's an admission of defeat that Paradox has no idea how to make the AI smarter without just giving them cheats. A player with that trait is the second easiest way to play the game, and the only easier way to play is to have both the conqueror trait and the scourge of god trait.
I don't play CK3 that much, so I would also appreciate tips or feedback on the video 👍
