Yes I work for an agency like this. If you have an abusive caller you can’t disconnect and if you continue to speak to the caller and attempt to help them, but the caller makes a formal complaint about you, even though you were polite, you will be written up and then told you were impolite.

I was a CS rep, but that does not mean I am a punching bag - I really wish my call center understood that. I was required to take the abuse with a smile, while the customers could be as rude and abusive as they wanted. The company did not care about us. It is no surprise why they were short staffed.

Same at my company, one of my co-workers was being yelled at for 1/2 hour, our manager was able to listen in on the call and she told her to apologize to him so he would calm down, and when he finally hung up, the manager accused her of hanging up on him. I honestly cannot wait to resign in a few months.

Just make sure ALL the information you’re working with is accurate. Otherwise, maybe the customer has the right to be rude.

@@straight.no.chaser1708 Veronica has a clear understanding of her value, priorities, and boundaries and can articulate those clearly with others. She’s amazingly self aware. Any potential suitor who just wants a new mommy to care for them and doesn’t want to be held accountable for their actions would clearly hate a woman as good as Veronica.

haha! I had a customer who was harassing me- I was a receptionist and wasn't legally bound to say information, especially in front of other customers in a no private setting. after the 6th call I politely said "as I've been trying to tell you, I cannot help you but a broker can, so when you can speak to me with respect and calmly, I will transfer you to a broker" to which he waited, then called back and could speak to someone. yelling at me got him no where and I looked him up on facebook because I could. he came in the next day in person, I'd fire him as my client.

The more people who watch Veronica and start realizing that they have value and deserve proper treatment, the less corporations will be able to abuse its workforce. You cannot run a business without labor, and I am grateful that labor is learning how to set boundaries.

Veronika and people like her make lousy employees and customer service reps. Call centers are most often the ONLY method of account problem or dispute resolution a paying customer has.
What know it all reps like Veronika don’t stop to realize just because it’s in the computer doesn’t mean it is correct. If all a rep does is hang up on frustrated customers, they are not doing the job and customers never get their problem heard or solved.

@@davidszmagalski4233 lousy from whose perspective? From a corporate office that is constantly trying to abuse her through scope creep, wage theft, and denial of agreed upon benefits? Or from rude customers who are trying to abuse company policies? Veronica is always happy to help anyone who is polite and treats her with respect. Please do not defend the people who cannot behave like adults.
