Never understood why some string musicians insist on playing Mozart like it is Baroque music. From the holding of the instruments and bows to the style itself. Baroque period ended in about 1750 and Mozart was born in 1756.
Actually, people played like these styles until the end of 18th century ,of course some things re-evaluated in each period,but generally it was similar to the Baroque style.
1750 is just a time stamp for people to distinguish Baroque from the Classical period...but the Baroque period didn't actually end on January 1st 1750...it's most likely that Mozart was taught to play the violin and the viola in a baroque style from his father...also look at their bows...u can easily distinguish them from the bows used in the Baroque period...I don't see a reason why this performance isn't historically accurate...but i guess that's just my view of the subject

Cuz, like no one in Mozart or Haydn’s day played like Brahms. They are using classical bows, so not Baroque style.

I liked their tempi, round sound and dynamics in the 1st mvmt. The second mvmt needs a bit more dark drama IMO.
