This is one of the most beautiful pieces ever written; I've wept over it every time I hear it. I don't care what anyone says -- there will NEVER be another piece like this; nor anyone else who could ever compare with Mozart.

The second movement of this concerto is pure lyrical genius, the interplay between the Flute and Harp is so very beautiful and illustrates how Mozart was able to begin a seemingly unremarkable phrase and suddenly transform it into something so very exquisite. No words can express such genius.

MOZART is the JOY of music which speaks where words fail! I come to Mozart when my spirits need to be lifted and I need some "sunshine" in my life. His music helps almost as much as my granddaughter's voice on the phone or a visit with her! In my old age, our granddaughter and Mozart are the Joy God gave us to make up for growing old!

I agree. It's even better than the second movement of his clarinet concerto. I'm more a fan of Beethoven and Bach, but those two concertos are exceptionally fine pieces of music. I find it hard to believe Mozart didn't like the flute or the harp when he could make them sound so good together. Nobody could be that commercial and maintain such subtlety.

So it is said. Be circumspect about everything you read, especially anything offered through the media, including explosions and tsunamis. Film; photographs, coalition media can be used to convey and cement falsehood. Who wrote; when, was it written, that Mozart 'didn't care' for the flute or the harp? Your opening phrase covers it.

I like some of Mozart's earlier works just as much as his more mature well composed works. This piece is one of those, full of youthfulness and full of lyricism, yet it is so obvious that this is a music composed by genius. It's hard to believe that flute or harp was not his favored instrument. I really enjoyed listening to this piece.

Rosa Angela I have the Mozart 225 collection and in the book about his music one expert said that he has been "said" to have disliked the instrument. I'm pretty sure that he didn't like the harp but I'm not sure about the flute. Sorry if my grammar is wrong hope you understand what I meant

Mozart supposedly said: There is only one other instrument that sounds as off-key as a flute. And that's another flute.

This is truly a masterpiece of Mozart. Played superbly as this is, you just can not get tired of it. When you compare the color and imagination of this to 95% of the classical works by other composers it towers above. Mozart was truly inspired. And it almost shouts to you in the notes - imagination, joy, vitality.

Such vivacious and artful music, composed in Vienna and performed most artfully here by gifted musicians in Croatia! I have always adored the flute and harp concertos of Mozart. Indeed, this was the music I chose for Britani and my wedding, led by a Pagan priestess at the Jackson Well Springs, and it was very well received. Of course our marriage didn't last forever but we were loyal to each other(it was most unusual outside circumstances;) we created and showed collections of visual art and conceived and then to this day properly co-parented our daughter Amity, who is also a musician in education. Thank you so kindly, Croatia!

All the other great composers were touched with genius, but Mozart was saturated with it. The sheer number of masterpieces he wrote in all the available genres (and a few extra ones of his own devising), and in such a short lifetime, was extraordinary. Listen carefully to his skill at orchestration, or his skill at dreaming up a great vocal line, or even his ability for formulate complex contrapuntal material - they're all of amazingly high quality. He'll forever remain, for me, musical perfection personified.
