I have a 4.2 SC L332 and I love it. I did 1 year of research and test driving different years and engines before deciding. I also bought the GAP far in advance so I could scan all the vehicles I test drove. Information is key when deciding
Great buys. Got a 20 year old one, 4.4 litre for 5000 euros. Filled it up with 10€ of diesel every week in an abandoned gas station, gave it 4 cheap used tires, all odd ones of course, serviced it 0 times a year and it served me well. Just sold it yesterday, I'm sure the new owner is real happy with it.
Good video. Happy with my 2012 4.4TDV8 L322. Had it over 3 years, Had no issues aside from usual maintenance. Use for all long distance travel we do. Great vehicles and driving experience.😊
Had 9 big range rovers over the past 15 years my latest one is a hybrid 530 SV. I’ve owned it 12 months and have to say whilst the car is lovely, the quality of build is off the mark. It’s been the first one I’ve had so many problems with it and even now it’s waiting for bits of trim that have fallen off and backorder to be fitted. Paid 165 for it 12 months ago today it’s worth around 95. not sure if I will buy another one
Great feedback and something I’ve heard repeated a few times now is the latest RR model having problems that are quality control related - I know they were essentially sold old for the first 12-18 months of production, wondering if the need to catch up with demand has been at the cost of quality, but either way thanks for adding you experience as it helps me collecting owner info to make the buyer guide on the L460 👍
Most things covered there but as you say much to look at also . Had few sports from 2007 all no problems but just got my first range rover last week 16 plate 3.0l D . LR W to boot so see how it goes but autotrader say thats best so . But love it the drive is unreal comfy and great .
Without doubt, R/R is one of the best driving experiences a driver will ever have. Truly a fantastic drive! Unfortunately, they can be unreliable. I have R/R 3ltr Sport 2018, had its 50,000mile service, which included cam-belt (R/R advice!) cost breathtaking £2,500!!…A week later car goes into ‘limp mode’. Oh dear, what now??.. Cracked rocker cover??…a further cost £2,000!!..Apparently a very rare fault. R/R customer service just laughed, no help there!!… I still like and prefer R/Rs, moral of the story……Always pay extra, get the Warranty!!.. It really is a lottery for what can go wrong.
Sub par quality makes Range Rover a foot note in car history. It could have been great but there is no pride in the company. They can't manage the engineering basics. I rather buy a Kia Ceed and a luxury furniture set. It will take me from point A to B without failing. At tha I can enjoy my luxury furniture instead of the workshop.
I have been thinking of getting my first FFRR, a late L405 but perhaps with the 3L straight 6 petrol P400 engine. Not heard much about this engine in terms of reliability etc, even on FFRR forums. Just wondered if any thoughts? Can probably pick up a low mileage LR approved P400 with FSH for £42K to £50K depending on spec.
Hi, yes i drove one when they released it (MY2020 if memory serves me) smooth power delivery and a quicker response than the D300 (both are the new gen six cylinder engines). if you want a few details on it I covered the engine on the recent F-Pace guide but to save you time, here's some clippings from the script "The biggest problem this engine faced isn’t mechanical but simply its place in the lineup .... the diesel option with better fuel economy ... the 5.0-liter V8 for power, the inline 6 petrol exists at a time when its 395bhp matches the much more efficient hybrid" Essentially, when it was new, few were sold because it only existed for the end of production and business buyers had the diesel or hybrid (depending on which benefitted them tax wise). So even though the L405 P400 was a great option it is rare (why you will find few forum reports) this can make a bit harder to find the spec you want used. Advice, it's a new motor, so I can't speak to its long term reliability, but I can't say anything against it so far, but have a drive of the D300 if you can, and if you're at a dealer ask to have a quick go in the hybrid, if after all three you like the P400 best, go for it 👍
2013 - 2021 was most handsome looking for me. Slooping roof in big suv like was milestone design( started this with evoque in 2012 ) / design was so good new range rover kept core design of that generation. L322 earlier- bmw- year specially was worst one on reliability in all generations i think and i dont like very boxy looking too. As final , land rover make nice looking vehicles but not good quality ones surely it is m7 general view on jaguar also....
Have 161k miles on my L320. 4.4 . Great vehicle. More reliable that a lot of trash out there. Much more robust. Cooling system the one weak area on the engine.

Nice choice, and yes research is key 👍
Hey, did you have to renew the GAP license everytime you test drove one? I thought the GAP tool was just for one specific VIN

I love my 2010 L320 so much, I have had it for 10 years. There is nothing else that I’d rather drive and have no intention whatsoever of changing it.
Totally agree. I’ve got the same as you.

Thinking of getting a 2005 with the bmw 4.x L v8, $8k with 80,000 miles

To answer the posters question: Mitsubishi indeed.

Handsome.
You should buy a car based on reliability only. Rest is irrelevant. And range rover is all but reliable.....
That's why mine has + 420.000km and still running strong with just regular maintenance.....
@@pieterluckerath7235which engine does yours have? which year? thanks
