Thank you for posting. This is a song that's far more profound than it's probably given credit for, no doubt because it's such a catchy melody. But anyone who's been on that journey for life's meaning will immediately connect with and resonate with this song.

I remember when the song came out I was working in Costa Mesa California when I got home. From work I found my wife's lifeless body in the baby's room she had been killed. My daughter is 34 now she was 6 weeks old with her mama died and this song is so real to me I took me a long time to come back and face the music

@@CatT1987 I'm a Florida dude , and I used to listen to this song when I was in elementary school , the radio would play it once in a while , I NEVER caught the name of this song but it Always sounded enchanted almost haunting ,a true masterwork I guessed it was Moody blues , they have made very inspiring songs in that era , , a time period I really miss , like you have NO idea how much , , , thank you very much for doing the hard work of finding the right kind of imagery to join with this powerful tune , , , again thank you , , 🌎🌔💫🧸👍

It's such a shame that the moody blues created such profoundly brilliant music ,I was young and never 4got about their sheer brilliant efforts so much so that I still love listening 2 what's classical and years old but without doubt un4getful superb music from a great band with excellent musicians 2 give us the moody blues !

@@CatT1987 Lyrics are about wherever the listener's mind and imagination is taken by them! That is the magic and profundity of music. One listener's journey to a verse of New Testament scripture is another's journey to Greece. And with a timeless piece of music the meaning of lyrics may change for an individual listener, depending upon mood or stage of life.
I will more or less repeat myself here. The lyrics are not really about God but you can interpret them whichever way you like.

And BTW the 80's was a great decade, and the song was released in 1981 so I say the '80s production is appropriate!
@@CatT1987 Hi Cat T. Thank you for your comment. I apologise if my comment came across as glib and ill-considered. That's not how I meant it. It was the result of my rushing to make a comment before bed. Please allow me to make a more considered comment to set-out my sincere views.
1. It was remiss of me not to mention the beautiful and haunting video that you, yourself, created. I have never created anything like this and I can only assume that it took a considerable effort on your part, not to mention the creativity, that I myself lack. I also appreciate that you supplied the lyrics - always an important matter in a Moody Blues song. I enjoyed the video immensely.
2. I agree with you that the '80s was a great decade for music and you're right to remind me. It was the decade of my '20s with many happy memories of parties and clubs, all to the backdrop of the great music of the decade. Some of my favourite artists are from the '80s (for example, Tears for Fears, R.E.M., Lloyd Cole and the Commotions, and Echo and the Bunnymen, as well as the fantastic dance music of the decade).
3. As regards the production on this song, it has a pop sheen to it of the period that is not to my taste. The Voice was made as a single (I think the second single off the album) and I can understand the producer going for a certain commercial pop styling that was current in the early '80s. As I said in my original comment, this excellent song, in my opinion, is spoiled a "little" bit by the production. But that is just my subjective opinion. Each to their own.

@@tonyanderton3521 Wow Tony you really surprised me here! 😯 Many people who post a comment on a person's video wouldn't care really to clarify, they would just post it and that would be that, even if they got a reply that criticized them, but it shows what kind of person you are in the fact that you would think about what I said and come back with such a beautiful comment as you did.
After reading your newest comment, I think I totally misunderstood because you seem to be saying in this second comment that you loved the visuals in the video but I had thought you were saying you didn't like them, but after reading what you said it seems like you didn't have a problem with my visuals, you had some kind of issue with the actual sound production of the audio or the song itself. Is this correct?
If so, I'm not sure what you mean by saying it was 'spoiled by the '80s sound production'. I mean the song came out in the 80's so it would figure that it would have an 80's sound wouldn't it? I absolutely love this version of The Voice, but as you said to each their own.

@@CatT1987 Hi Cat T. Re your second paragraph, yes, you're right - I absolutely love and adore your wonderful visuals. The work that you have done here is exactly the sort of thing that I look for on a Moody Blues song. Yours is really lovely work. I wanted to clarify that it was only the sound production of the original single record that didn't work for me. Well, not terrible, just a little bit, as I said. I'm sorry my original comment was unclear.
Of course, there were many styles of music production in the '80s - whether disco, house music, soft-rock, metal, post-punk, etc, so for me to pick on one particular sound does indeed seem unfair. The synthesiser became widespread in pop production (used in the 1970s, too, but becoming easily-affordable and widespread by the early '80s). On this song, I think that Patrick Moraz is playing it. Of course, a superb musician. I saw him in concert with Yes in '75, but, sadly, I never got to see the Moodies. What I love about these two bands is that their music is always positive and uplifting.
After my original outburst, I've listened twice to the full LP Long Distance Voyager and - surprise surprise - it's growing on me, even the production. It's a grower, Cat T. But you're stunning visuals only add to the magic of Moody Blues music, capturing, as you do so exquisitely, the ethereal, the magical and the positivity of the music. By the way, I'm also fascinated by Greek Mythology and ancient cultures. I was going to ask you, Cat T, if you'd done any other visuals for Moody Blues songs. Best wishes.

Thanks again for your praise of my work it really means a lot. ❤️ And you're very blessed that you got to see Patrick Moraz in concert and Yes is another of my favorite progressive rock bands as I've covered two or three of their songs and they've always went over well. And yes I too am also very much fascinated by Greek mythology and have read about it and even wrote about it. In my video The Voice I included some footage in the beginning of the video of scenes from Greece and it just seemed to fit well for the song, but but I also used it because a friend of mine had recently traveled to Greece and so it was really for their benefit.

Make it two that complained. The vertical-horizontal displacement was totally unnecessary, and, yes, it somewhat distracted the reading of the lyrics. I guess the real question is why it was done it the first place.
