I heard this album on an 8 track in my best friends older brothers car, in 1971, 16 yrs old. I was looking for someone and didnt know it yet. I found Jesus 4 yrs later. He was the someone who changed my life.
I cry so hard when listening to this song. My husband, best friend since we were 14 years old. Walked out the door October 17th, 2023, thinking he would only be gone a few days , but his family took advantage of his condition, and I haven’t seen him since. He has Parkinson’s, and was diagnosed with dementia three years ago. They took my husband and they have wasted precious time for both of us, I am so devastated!!! Lawyer fees are costing me. The law in this small town is despicable, because they don’t have to investigate a thing.😞💔 Please pray that he returns home to me🙏🏻❤️
I’m sure they only tolerated me because their son and brother Loves me and I love him. We started at the school right down the road in 8 th grade. My parents didn’t have a lot of money, but they were good people and I think it’s always been about that mighty old dollar, the route to all evil. I’m still working on getting him home and he wants to be here with me at home, but nobody’s hearing him or me, but as long as I’m alive, I will never give up on him not ever. Thank you so much for continued prayers for Chris and I , we need all the prayers we can get at this time. I know many other people are much worse off than we are, but I love him so much, and he’s a good man , a faithful man ❤️ the terrible blow of his diagnosis , Parkinson’s with dementia 😔 was and is terrible, so now It's my turn to make sure he’s happy and cared for. This is my drive to go every day and not give up. I don’t care what they call me or what they put me through. I won’t stop and believe me, I’ve been through the mill for the last 11 months with his family. Lawyer fees, they’re not only habitual liars, There’re something much worse , it’s pathological lying. I’m still so in shock, It’s unbelievable, anyway , thank you for the prayers. Sorry I’m long-winded here, but I cannot understand their way of thinking . They’ve known me since I was 10 years old our families went to the same church 🤷♀️😞
I sincerely hope God fills the void in your life and you will find someone to keep you company. We all need miracles in our lives. Yes, we do. Best of regards
Probably doesn't help but I do understand. I've had 2 wives die and the 1st time there was absolutely nobody there for me. Good luck. Hope it gets better.
@@steveelsholz5297 Wow, I'm sorry, I have only my 2 sisters, and I feel alone most of the time, its the hardest thing I have ever been through! I hope you found your way to some happiness..
I came here because my precious mother just died and this was her favorite band of all time. I came here to listen to the same song she always sang to me just to feel close to her again. I know your pain and sorrow. You are not alone. I pray God helps you and takes all your grief away....
Correct. Many so called songs of love and relationships when listened to with a higher power narative attraction make so much more sense and bump up the quality of the song. Boston's "A man I'll never be" is an outstanding example of this principle.
I came to a similar realization when I experienced the epiphany of truth resulting from my conscious decision to stop living a lie and doing "The Right Things For The Wrong Reasons" and just accept myself without the need to make others happy by acting like I was somebody else. The courage to be honest gave me the patience to correct misinformed prior life information and all the dysfunctional subconscious applications thusly engendered. Boston's, "A Man I'll Never Be" exhibits the SELF-SPIRIT dialog mentioned earlier.
The truth is hard to swallow. That is what the wall of love is for ... there is no god that is a truth so be love if you wish all the love you've been given is meant for you ... love yourself and you will see the love you have for others. You need no god for that. Only awakening.
At 75, I'm starting to appreciate James Thurber's wisdom when he says, "It's better to know some of the questions than all of the answers." My mate of 44+ years is a big help with this because she's wired to first ask questions. As a man, I thought I had to know the answers. But, as I look out at the state of our world, I'm realizing that it's above my pay grade to keep trying to get answers. Instead, the fruit of my contemplative practice is drawing me inward to see outward...from within a quiet inner space... Thanks so much for your beautifully crafted video! tOM
This is a timeless song. I woke up this morning and had to listen to it. A song from my generation. It means so much to so many people in different ways. It fills their hearts with hope and faith of finding great love. I believe it is the greatest love to love ourselves and we can find it in our hearts, helped by the power of the immense love that is a higher source. We are a part of that and must look to find it. Love to all.
Lyric/music parallels: "It's not the way that you say it when you do those things to me, (when God inspires), it's more the way that you mean it ... when you tell me what will be..." "O God our hearts are (so) restless... until they rest in Thee." (A quotation of St. Augustine.) Thought I should share this with you Debby, had just posted it as a comment and then read down some of the comments and noted yours.

Underrated by whom?
Why so picky. It's obvious, he's not mentioned in the same breath as the likes of McCartney. Just my opinion but I think he deserves to be.
