    I have just completed an amazing 10-day road trip across Southern India and I love Indian culture! We started in Kochi, then went to Kollam, Madurai, Pondicherry, Auroville and Chennai, hitting many small villages and towns in between.
    After this trip, I've now spent almost 4 months combined on the Indian subcontinent -- and I've reconfirmed my love for this country. Through all the ups and downs, this is really a special and unique place that I recommend everyone to visit at least once in their life.
    Speaking of unique, I have noticed many cultural things while traveling India that are not commonly seen elsewhere around the world... So I decided to make this fun video, sharing all of my realizations about Indian culture!
    Do you agree or disagree with any of my points? Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below -- I will be staying up all night reading and responding!

      That's not chalk... It's rice powder. Ants would not have to walk too far or too long for a meal. The rice powder also invites birds and other small creatures to eat it, thus welcoming other beings into one's home and everyday life: a daily tribute to harmonious co-existence. It is a sign of invitation to welcome all into the home, not the least of whom is Lakshmi, the Goddess of prosperity and wealth.

    My boyfriend is Indian and he touches his parent's feet whenever he meets them. Initially I found that quite odd since in Italy we re used to hugging and kissing, but when he explained to me the meaning of the gesture, I was amazed. In general the respect that Indians have towards elders is quite amazing and very different from the rest of the world. Maybe you should also include that. Oh and also have you tried Hajmola? ;)

    Edit: I looked up on google it said in Malayalam fennel is "perum jirakam" and cumin is "jirakam". So people like me who didn't know about it got confused. Because in Assamese we got a lot of common words like in Hindi and we know fennel as saunf and cumin as jeera.

    @Drew those are not cumin seeds, they are fennel seeds (Saunf) coated in sugar. Its usually given in the end to aid in digestion and also refresh your palette as Indian food tends to have a strong flavour and aroma

      Yes , sad that Foreigners do know about western, southern and northen India especially, .. they never been told about eastern or northeastern part ...
      but good that we viewers made some youtubers like volpe(carlos) and david to travel to eastern and northeastern part and their experience was amazing and they came back again. You can watch them on YT.

    i am indian. and i think, 'v' and 'w' problem is only in certain languages here. like in marathi , 'w' sound is prominent. people use 'v' sound more i feel

    • @bainsa17
      @bainsa17 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Shivranjini G Hegde Yes I agree, but I think despite people having the letters in their languages, there is a tendency to pronounce them incorrectly out of habit in India. I think the situation described in the video was in reference to South India while North Indian languages tend to do the opposite.
