Its normal for valve tick with the klx140’s and it only gets louder when you do a 170cc big bore on em. We set the valves on the tighten end of within spec to minimize the valve tick
@Aarons Enduro I'm wanting to do the 170 on my sons but thinking might just get a bigger bike. Although being heavy and kinda slow factory. Nice to have electric start. Especially since we do along trails

So let me get this straight. You buy a underpowered kids bike to ride in the woods. You spend 1/4 the cost of the bike to get it to where you want it. You could have just bought a 200+cc bike and got a perfectly set up bike from the beginning.
And i tell ya what, i wouldnt change a thing about what i did. Locals here see the bike i built and think its badass. Hate all you want but you’re the first person to say something negative about it

On sxparts is something on stock. Did you change the crankshaft and the cylinder head?
Stock crankshaft and cylinder head. When you start to open up those two pieces is when you can run into reliability issues

Does 140g and 140rf the same fork? Im ordering BBR fork springs but it state doesnt fit to klx140rf.
So when ordering make sure you arent choosing the version for the 140/L
And that its the 140g version. But yes it fits the RF and G model
