  • Hey everyone, in this Tutorial we will learn how to create this Vellum Bubble Torus Animation.
    We'll start off by creating our Base Shape and adding a Vellum Cloth Simulation to that. Then we'll move on to creating a contained Fluid Simulation, a Grain Simulation and a Gel with embedded bubbles using the Pointdeform SOP. Once all that is done, we will prepare our Scene for rendering. In the next Tutorial we will be lighting and shading this Setup using Octane.

    This has been one of the absolute best houdini tutorials i have watched so far.
    You covered various vellum sims in a half hour and explained alot of basics that other tutorials have mysteriously left out.
    Looking forward to getting some materials on this bad boii

    This was really cool to see a video that was not behind a paywall like MOST Houdini channel hope you can keep it up I'm your 146 sub

      I can totally understand why a lot of Houdini Channels put their Videos behind Paywalls - it‘s a lot of work to create these Videos and people deserve to be compensated for it :)

    thanks for the great tutorial, I have a question what the attribute blur with iteration of 10 do?

    • @danialghods
      @danialghods  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The attribute blur in this case just smoothens the mesh a bit :)

    Amazing Tutorial. You have my utmost gratitude... one small question, how to display the parameters of the SOP like a hovering window that you have, instead of a separate section?

    • @danialghods
      @danialghods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Thanks! You just have to press P while in the Network View.

    Thank you for the tutorial. Pls back it up with Karma renderer (or even Mantra) cause not everybody has a decent GPU but CPUs are good enough

    • @danialghods
      @danialghods  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Oji, I have not had the time to look at Karma yet, so I unfortunately won't be able to do that.

    • @ujulspins
      @ujulspins 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Rendering this in Karma with Solaris is a relatively simple task. I simply used a bunch of Import SOP nodes(importing from Setup node which we created), daisy-chained a camera, two lights along with a light linker, recreated similar mtlx materials and assigned them to using the material linker - that's it.

    I wonder what kind of PC do you need to run this vellum part real-time? Maybe I am doing something wrong that my i5 12400f and rtx 3060 are almost 100% loaded and it still computes for several minutes....

    • @danialghods
      @danialghods  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, I have a Ryzen 7950x and Vellum still doesn't run in real-time :) The preferred workflow is to just cache things out and then flipbook them for preview! A lot of the stuff in the video, especially the cacheing is sped up in the edit to shorten the video.

    • @wlatol6512
      @wlatol6512 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@danialghods Yeah, I just missed that you sped up the video) And the real-time you were specifying about playback. Guess it's just that I'm not getting enough sleep, haha) Anyways, great tutorial, Houdini is a difficult but beautiful subject!

      There's a "Number of Ranges" parameter on the top of "Group By Range" node, you can try that: set it to 3, add red and blue groups to it
