  • Hey everyone, in this Tutorial we’ll go over how to Light and Shade this Bubbly Torus.
    I’ll show you how to achieve interesting Lighting without making it too complicated, how to create Gobos procedurally, how to Link Lights in Octane and how to create AOVs. Once all that is done, we’ll bring it over to Davinci Resolve and Fusion to do some Post processing on it, color correct it a bit and then export the Final Video.

    Have installed Demo plugin for Houdini FX Version 19.5.682 (free version) but got error that it's not possible to render in Apprentice. Downloaded OctaneRender Prime but it's only Blender files.
    So it's not possible make octane render in Houdini Apprentice?

    • @danialghods
      @danialghods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You could render this out via Mantra, but as far as I know, third party renderers aren't allowed with the apprentice version.

      @@danialghods yeah thanks. Already made it, but have a lot of issues than during render it's or too dark in video and in the same too bright on preview - in each action have different lights. But I also passed this step after some investigation

    Thank you this! There's some great fundamental mograph process here. I'm watching and converting for a redshift scene. any idea how to get that gobo to look similar? I'm struggling with that material 2d rotation.

    • @danialghods
      @danialghods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, you can just Scale the Noise itself without the need for a separate Transformation Node in Redshift :)

      @@danialghods ah, that's what I did :) It's been a while since I've played with Octane and making the conversions into redshift has been fun :)

    Has anyone installed Octane and got it working fine? After installing octane, it is giving me multiple errors :(

    • @theCreativeAddict3d
      @theCreativeAddict3d ปีที่แล้ว

      I got it working. The path was incorrectly configured and the backslashes "\" in windows should be replaced with "/" - otherwise it will not work.

      Happy you resolved it!

    This is a great tutorial Danial - I am 1/4 done in this tutorial. Do you suggest getting a subscription of Octane ? The trial version only limits 1000*600 and has a watermark and wavy lines on the render.... I am just starting out with Houdini and it has been 5 months learning it.

    • @danialghods
      @danialghods  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, thanks a bunch. It totally depends on what situation you're in to be honest. If you intend to work in the Motion Design Field I'd recommend getting to know Redshift as that's the renderer of choice for most Studios I've worked with so far. If you do most projects on your own or want to do 3D as a Hobby, Octane is great because it is a lot more stable than Redshift, is faster than Mantra and gets you a really nice look out of the Box. Ultimately the skills you learn in one Render Engine are transferrable to other ones - especially with the Standard Material Workflow that is becoming the norm now.

      @@danialghods Thank you so much for your response Danial! Greatly Appreciate it. Let me know once you start a course/paetreon. I would love to join. You explain stuff pretty neatly.

      @@danialghods Finally, I have completed it. Thank you SOOO much Sir, this has taught me a lot. Here's my creation -> th-cam.com/users/shortsSu3u7YTNVNY
      had too many hiccups while working on it... I was not able to get the Z depth, grayscale, and am not sure why? Rendering was another headache :D :D
      But thank you so much for the lovely tutorial. Now its time to make it 3 more times to burn this into my memory. Once again, I simply can't thank you enough for this tutorial. I bow to you Sire! 🙇‍♂🙇‍♂🙇‍♂

    Hey man. In houdini octane when k uolosd the hdri it gives me highly exposed light even at 1. I can't use hdri as it is way to exposed even at 1. Any tips on this??

    Great lesson, thanks! Do you know how to make a looped animation out of this simulation?

    • @danialghods
      @danialghods  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Looping simulations is always tricky! Looping and syncing multiple is even trickier! I believe Entagma has a video on a vellum cloth simulation, maybe that can give you some insight :)
