  • I have an older HP 17.3" Laptop that I will open up to replace old hard drive with new 2.5" SATA SSD and do a clean install of Windows 10. Model 17-g141dx

    OMG! I just had a hell of a time getting one back together. Finally just sort of closed it all up and sandwiched it and suddenly SNAP! I just wish I could have seen you get yours. Would have been helpful.

    Sorry that you had to struggle but valuable for us rookies to see a pro struggle, you usually make it look artificially easy. Thanks for your tip about the hinges. My first attempt at a 15” HP resulted in major breakage on left hand hinge posts. No idea what I did wrong but evidently screwed up. JB weld and super glue to the rescue and ok. Once those screws in the hinge area are removed, be super careful opening and closing lid. Lots of stress on those hinges! Thanks for the videos. They are great!

    Hello.. saw your videos very helpful..
    I just have question, i have old hp elitebook 840 G4 laptop.. i was able to upgrade ram and wanted to replace/upgrade from 120gb m.2 sata to either crucial or kingston 500gb nvme pcie, does the crucial or kingston nvme compatibale to my machine? Thank you in advance!

    I heard that the a-data ssds are known for failing. Its better to buy an ssd from a popular brand. Like Samsung or kingston.
    I hope this helps for people who are planning to upgrade to an ssd
