    I'm so jealous of your White Grand-I'm stuck with the Hamburg Grand on my CP88, which doesn't even get CLOSE to this!

    Ive had so much fun playing on my stage 4, I personally really like the Nord piano sounds. Great video!!

    That's my go-to grand as well (on NS3 that is). Love the sound.

    Agreed 👍!! The damper works very well! 😎

    I layer the white grand xl with grand imperial or hifi grand and it sounds epic! I do find i have to turn on dynamic button setting on 2 otherwise it hurts the speakers.

    Is the NS4 plugged directly into an audio interface and then directly into your computer here, or did you mic an amp? If so, what amp do you use? Trying to understand your audio output rig in this video.
    I just purchased a NS4 and I feel like I haven't been quite able to replicate some of the piano sounds from the amazing demos I see, like this one!
    Also, is this patch a stock preset? I don't find it in the piano presets, though I do see it as a layer in the "A16: Horizontal Whl" program. Is that where you're pulling this from? TYIA

    After spending time with the Nord stage 4 do you prefer it over your yc88?

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I do. I find the NS4 to be a lot more inspiring to play.

    Sound in B, but you played in C. Did you transpose down to make sound fuller?

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No I didn’t, I had been messing around with the transpose settings earlier and forgot to change it back before recording this video! Not intentional at all! 😂

    I have a Stage 3 and that sounds very different much brighter not as full. As to which sound for me it is the Studio Grand 2 because I want a sound that is good for live and cutting thru and a sound that takes effects well. To me the Nord piano sound at least the older ones like my Stage 3 are too full better suited for solo playing than recording or band playing.

    Does the Stage 3 make the same piano sound or is the Stage 4 better?

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It's roughly the same. The Nord Stage 4 sounds slightly better not because of the sound itself, but because of some of the extra features like the triple sensor keybed, dynamic compression, and better effects. At the core though, it's the same piano sample.

    I’m interested in pitching the Nord Stage 4 to my executive team at my church. I’m curious if the 3rd & 4th outputs do the EXACT same thing as the 1st & 2nd outputs. Thanks for responding in advance!!

    • @h88sixtyone38
      @h88sixtyone38 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes they can, they are assignable also. I assign organ to 3 & 4 and run organ section through a neo ventilator while piano and synth plays without effects.

    Your videos seem to make the pianos sound a bit too bright and thin; are you tweaking/ boosting/ using a cheap interface therefore? I had this impression after watching your first vid, and I've just gone and listened to a few more YT channels that demo Nords to confirm it.
    This may be something to look into then, no offence. That said, if there is an issue, it's possibly fairly subtle and possibly wouldn't show up as-much on a good set of studio monitors. And no, I'm not listening on a smartphone, however I am currently using Macbook laptop speakers and middling in-ears. Even so, the comparison with YT other channels stands.

    Does the white piano sound different in the stage 4 as apposed to stage 3?

    I’m a Nord newbie… is this sound also available Nord stage 3? I’m tossing up buying one or saving more to get the new Nord Stage 4. I commented on another video for advice but no reply yet… I appreciate you are probably very busy. Thanks for the videos!

    • @DSoundman
      @DSoundman  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is available on the NS3! Sorry for no reply on your other comment, I must have missed it!

      @@DSoundman no stress… you have quite a following. I’m an Australian church pastor. I play keys in church. I’m seeking advice as I’ve found a good deal on a stage 3. I won’t take time to design my own sounds etc.. Will likely just purchase your packs and use those. Was wondering if I should save up and buy the newest stage 4 or grab the deal on the stage 3 based on my circumstances?

    Nice, but not my favorite piano. It seems like the Velocity is too high, such that with not much attack you are hitting velocity levels that are higher than what they should be and your softest velocity touch is almost at regular piano playing velocity. Maybe that piano just doesn't have a great dynamic range..!?

    You mean "electric piano" sound?

  • @ericnataf8430
    @ericnataf8430 ปีที่แล้ว

    The demo for the sound white piano is not good enough, the intensity of the playing is unnatural, there is no depth in the sound and the output is anemic, Roland gives the best answer to serious pianists who play classical and jazz
    Nord cant jump to hardwere level of RD 2000 ROLAND they UPDATED a new GERMAN CLASSIC EXPANTION FOR THE RD 2000

    Great - my advice is to play a Chopin piece everyone knows, not these random riffs.
