A stunning watch well reviewed. I've got the previous 39mm version. I struggle with the 'entry level' part. IMO this is Rolex at it's original and best. The basics done very well. If you think of Rolex products as a spiders web ... this sits right in the middle. The distilled essence of time keeping.
That's a great comment and very true. Rolex are moving into more blingy design's now. Hopefully they wont go too far from their roots.
@@watchesdreamswhich is unfortunate,I love the subdued look, and the emphasis on not really noticing the watch unless you know watches.more of a “if you know, you know” sorta thing.
I want a 12600/124300 in silver dial
Nice video and nice watch. I can afford a Daytona and I have a Submariner and I just put my name on the list with my AD for the exact watch you just picked up and when it arrives it will be my daily wear watch. There's nothing "entry" about the Oyster Perpetual; it was the watch that started it all for Rolex and it's the watch that contains many watch making "firsts". It was the OP, not the Explorer, that climbed Mt. Everest and it was the OP, not the Submariner, that swam the English Channel.
For me, it's the most pure version of a Rolex. I think if you asked most anyone with an OP on their wrist if they own other Rolex watches or other high-end watches they would say "yes". The OP isn't "entry", it's basic, utilitarian and unassuming. For me, today, that's what I prefer and money has nothing to do with it. But while where at it, $6,400 (current USD Retail Price) is a lot of money to spend on an unassuming watch, with no display back, that only tells time, and most people won't even know it's a Rolex. There's nothing "entry" about any of that. Personally, I think it's next-level, kind of like Grand Seiko, but I digress.
I actually like the OP better then my explorer 2 or air king. It's fantastic value for money.
@@watchesdreams 100% agreed. I didn't add this in my initial message because it was already too lengthy, but like you, I'm also putting my name in for a Submariner no-date once I pickup my OP 41. I guess the wait time is ridiculous for those so I might as well start the clock sooner rather than later.
Congrats on your new purchase, it’s an awesome timepiece . I recently pick up the blue dial from my AD, I wear it everyday. 👍🏿
It's def an everyday watch. A real classic.
I tried on the same watch yesterday, I have a 6.5" wrist and it fits perfect. Doesn't look big at all. I believe the case width actually measures 39.52mm.
I am sooooooo impressed with this watch. Glad you liked it also.
Nice one ! I was waiting 2.5yrs for my op36 silver dial.. only just got it last week.
Worth the wait I'm sure ))
Big congrats. It's a fantastic watch. I especially like the black dial because it gives this reference the most tool-like utility look! Enjoy it thoroughly.
It certainly is a basic yet elegant watch.
Congratulations! I would try the micro adjustment at the clasp first (not the easy link but anchor points for the bracelet).
I have fixed it now. Put the link back on and then used the micro adjustment (like you said).
@@watchesdreams Super happy for you! Wear it in good health my friend!
You definitely need to put the link back on. I have the same size wrist and my OP 41 fits perfectly with all the links and the clasp adjustment in the middle position.
Thanks that is very helpful advice. I will put the link back on asap.
Might be entry level Rolex, but one of the nicest. Wear in good health. Cheers
I agree, this is a lot of watch for the money. Good health to you too Andrew )
Looks very classy. All you need for a no date watch. Minimalism with great build. The oyster bracelet has to be the best looking metal bracelet of all time, it's as impressive as any of the Rolex watches themselves. I'd definitely go for this Bright Black or the Bright Blue, one, they just go will all clothes.
I agree 100%. Nice comment
Love the black dial - very easy to read the time. Is it moving at 28800vph?
The white on black works really well. Will check the vph.
So funny that someone needed to get a call for an OP. It is wild how things have changed. 15 years ago the only call was for a Daytona, you could buy everything else 3 at a time. Things like a Yachmaster no one wanted and sat in the case. Subs and Sea-Dwellers were at every mall AD.
Times change I suppose. But it would be nice if I could buy any Rolex I want like 15 years ago.
I love mine so much I bought the silver dial model as well. Two weeks later.
The same thought has crossed my mind!!
Just placed an order for mine today. Hopefully 1-2month wait.
@@patrickmccarthy7186good luck I would still be waiting… me constantly phoning and getting fobbed off
Waiting lists coming down?! No chance! I was hoping to get onto waiting list for this black dial and demand is so high they had to close interest registration just to get ONTO list at my AD! Crazy…
It really is a lottery with the AD's. No consistency unfortunately.
Very nice... I know it's trendy to say how great and "traditional" the 36mm is... even though it's actually smaller than 36mm.. with 19mm bracelet and in person the 36mm is really small.. .. i think you made the right choice for long tem satisfaction
Bigger watches are the trend now, maybe smaller watches will be the trend again in the future.
I may have missed, I skipped around in the video. Did you mention your wrist size? It looks like it fits perfectly for you. My wrist is 6.5" and I thought it was on the large size for me when I tried it on, Incidentally this was a watch I got a call on 2 or 3 years ago when I was waiting for the 39mm Explorer that is now discontinued but I passed on it. But I think the 36 might be two small (maybe not). I'll have to confirm, I only recently got to try on a few 36mm Datejusts, (not the OP36), which I thought I wanted, but rethinking that as well. Maybe I need to retry the 41mm...
Edit: never mind... just found the spot where you mention your wrist size. Makes sense that it looks perfect on your wrist.
As you say, the smaller dial is probably better for a 6.5 inch wrist. My 7.3 inch wrist looks best on a 40mm, 41mm or 42mm watch. But 42mm is starting to look a bit big.
Yeah that’s a fantastic piece. That could be a one watch and the proportions with maxi dial on the 41 are perfect. Used to own the 36mm with the white dial and it was stunning but the indices were too stubby imo
I have not taken this watch off my wrist since I bought it. Lol.
Yeah, same. The indices are much better on these ones.
I just got OP41 last week in blue. Love it but it’s funny to hear your AD experience is very different to mine. I have waited almost exactly a year and a half for this watch and been told that a no-date Submariner could come within a year from now. Also no problem of writing me up on a waitlist for GMT Master 2, which was an absolute no-go when I was signing up for these. :)
Nice watch, hope you enjoy it
Thanks for sharing your experience. Ad's are a funny old bunch. The blue dial is nice. Enjoy!
@@watchesdreams I can imagine that it’s a bit different for them based on how they order, how much of what they can actually get in shop and also, of course, what the clients order at the given location and how big the market. My AD is a relatively small city in Denmark so that’s likely different than something like Dubai or New York :-)
Beautiful watch and a purists choice! The most Rolex Rolex!
I agree 100%
Love it ... 41mm is the perfect size.. very sleath.
It's so perfect, yet so understated.
just got mine - silver dial- 4 month wait - great watch
That silver dial is awesome.
Any purchase history?
May I ask which was goldsmiths was the ad you went through?
I will hold that a secret.
i have longines conquest 2023- 41mm 10.9mm thickness is perfect size for my 18cm wrist
Great!
Its look great on your wrist. I saw many men wearing 40ish size and not all can carry that well. Enjoy the watch. It fits you so well. Me personally waiting for my op 36. 🎉
Thanks, 40mm is probably my sweet spot. But I'm really happy with this 41 OP.
Nice watch!
It sure is!
I pick mine up this morning, waited 3 weeks shy of 1 year.
Congrats!! I hope you enjoy the OP ))
Any purchase history?
@@patrickmccarthy7186 No sir
@@watchesdreams I am!
In the three months on the “waitlist” did you go back in? I’ve been on the list for over a year for this model and while I’ve checked in via email I haven’t been back in in person. (Because I don’t want to buy another watch and then not have the funds ready if this one becomes available!). Wondering if I should be going back in just to show face?
I don’t have a purchase history. Looking to actually enter with an entry level Rolex because fuck me right? Lol
Just be patient. With no purchase history you are unfortunately at the back of the line.
@@watchesdreams cheers for the reply! Yeah patience I can do, just as long as I’m not doing something wrong. I don’t actually hate the process, will definitely make me appreciate the watch more. And then maybe the wait will be shorter for the next one lol
Come back to the AD say "hi" to your SA and tell he/she you still interest in the watch. Do this once a month.
I have the same watch.
Perfection.
It is currently £5,550.
The only people who call that entry level are those who will never own a Rolex.
When I look at most Rolex watches now they are too blingy. The OP is a traditional rolex with no frills. I agree its perfection.
This is very nice watch
It's one of my favorite's already.
I like it, very nice
I agree. It's very classy and traditional.
Will you compare OP vs AK ?
Perhaps. Actually my next video will be the OP vs the Citizen Tsuyosa. I like to compare expensive vs affordable.
Cool watch
Simple, yet brilliant.
Love it
It's a great watch, I love it too!!
Waited 18 months no previous buying history.. was told keep waiting . Went into another AD and looked down on as had no history. Told the AD to take me off there list . As I will not wait any longer . And bought grey market 1k over list brand new full stickers!
Exactly, sometimes it's better just to pay the grey market premium. People who spend thousands on watches they dont want just to get a watch from the AD. Makes no sense to me. Hope you enjoy your watch ))
@@watchesdreams Thanks yes . I got the silver dial . And love it , in fact wear it all the time and don’t wear my other watches!
Waiting on one so far 1.5 months but AD thinks within a few months I should get one
You will love it!
Gorgeous
It's so understated imo
I heard this 41mm is actually 40mm? Case size end to end minus the crown
I'm curious now..........
I wish they made a 45mm version.
Wow, that would be a big watch
O YEAH! 😆
Very quick, 4 months
Yes, I was lucky I guess.
Sick!
Indeed ))
Why don’t you prefer Rolex watches without the date ?
Personal choice
Boring?! Are you kidding!…this is a great classic. Congrats 👌
Indeed, other Rolex's are too bling nowadays.
How much US?
Not sure. Maybe $7000 to $7500
Price?
Depends where you live
@@watchesdreams price u paid in yr country
Waiting list on luxury watches is so stupid especially from Rolex who makes so many watches.
The demand for Rolex watches is crazy.
Actually, the demand to sell to flippers and gray market dealers for extra profit is crazy. There are plenty for the actual retail market- if gray market dealers were not buying a couple hundred thousand watches a year. I will never be convinced otherwise. I have seen great economies where you could walk in and buy 3 stainless Subs in one day if you wanted to. The internet gray market is the problem clearly.
@@2536528 I’ve seen gray market dealers with a ton of Rolex watches, talking boxes and boxes of them. It makes sense to withhold stock to inflate prices or stopping it from dropping too much
Chinos and simple watch. Your pants are elevated.
Lol ))
❤️❤️
I guess you love the OP!
Geez this one's too big for an OP😅
It's good that you can still order the OP is various sizes.
Haha, the proportions look perfect, to me, for that wrist size.
For those who know.
