- My calathea orbifolia and red maranta plant I'm repotting in this video.The calathea orbifolia I got a lowes and was a crazy find. This is a chatty repot with me!

I bought one from Lowe's the other day... she was definitely a rescue. Lol. Hopefully, I did ok. We shall see in a couple of weeks. Beautiful plants 🪴

I was repotting a pin k princess and found netting up inside the root ball. It wasn't thriving so I'm hoping it will now. I'm gonna take my other one apart and check it too! I hate that netting so much!!!
Did you notice alot of moisture around the area the netting was in? Mine felt like a big hunk of wet soil. I also realized that my plant was actually 2 so now they are separated, netting removed and enjoying a much need respite from wet, clumpy soil. It's got a chunky mix and so.e fertilizer too :)

So if I remember correctly you said you have a few plants from Lowes sill in their same pots and soil from a year plus ago. I'm contemplating how many of my plants have that root netting on them. She I go digging through them??
Hi Melissa. If I our go to Home Depot and purchase those plants, as soon as I get home can I immediately remove them from the soil and place them in water?

How did you get rid of Thrips and fungi nest? What's the best way to get them out.

You’re very welcome!! 🤗 It’s mainly pests that I look for!! I don’t want to spread anything to my other plants 😫 the gnats are always so annoying but especially spider mites!! Calathea are a magnet for spider mites!

My Calathea won’t give me new leafs. I bought it like 9 month ago and it only gave me one big and a little leaf. Is this normal? I already repotted the plant. Does it don’t like the earth? With nutrition does it need? 😕

For your Calathea is your soil mix more peat base or coco coir base?
Hi there! I use ocean forest by fox farm potting soil and it’s more peat based ☺️
Hi! Is your orbifolia still doing well?
It did SO well for a long time after this but unfortunately it caught thrips then flat mites and it went into dormancy. I tried to rehab it back but ended up tossing it. I have a new one now that's doing well 🫶

This mesh is biodegradable, nothing will happen to the roots
How did your orbi fare after the repot?
It’s doing well so far! I left it in quarantine a little longer but now it’s out. I hope it does well after our move though! I will definitely show updates 🥰🤗
