This is a consequence of allowing a situation where either Katniss and Peeta kill themselves allowing a spark of anger over their love story and possibly cause a rebellion or allow them to both win but with the weakness of going back again on what was stated in the games.

It wasn't a symbol of the rebellion nor was it the reason Cinna snuck it to her. It was her token, the item she is allowed to bring from home. I don't know why they hid it. It didn't become a symbol until after the Games
Peeta scored in Career range, was extremely strong/powerful, excelled in hand to hand combat, was handy with a knife and a wiz with coaxing a fire. He also had no issue with the attention Katniss was receiving. Peeta kept Katniss alive she would have died in the initial bloodbath had he not shook his head at her because she was ready to run in for the bow. Literally if Katniss was the spark Peeta was the fuel source that allowed for fire to catch.

In fact in the books Katniss thought she had a crush on Gale but he lil sis'd her and told her he couldn't see her that way, it wasn't until the games when he saw her and Peeta getting close that he started to get jealous 😂😂. He's 2 yrs older then her or a 1 n 1/2, Katniss is 16 when she's reaped into the games and Gale is 18, it was his last year to participate in the reaping before he goes to work in the mines. Peeta was being honest when he said he's loved Katniss tor years, and watched her walking home. Katniss also knew him from school, and after her father died, ( he was the one to teach Katniss how to hunt and swim, among other things,) her mother completely retreated into herself and they all almost starved to d3ath, Peeta throwing her the bread he burnt saved her and her families lives, she started hunting after that. She cares for Peeta and Gale but doesn't love either one of them... yet anyway. Haymitch won his games on a quarter quell, which is a special game every 25 yrs where they change it up, his year the change was that they doubled the tributes so he had to survive 48 other kids, 4 from each district. And the 3 finger salute is like a tribute/paying respect, they do it in 12 at funerals but when they do it for katniss it's like a sign of solidarity as well as showing respect. Oh and the reason Katniss missed with the bow the first time was because she was used to using a handmade wooden bow her father had used for years before her, the one she used in the capitol was made of metal and plastic, probably hadn't been used very often if at all, so the feel of it would have been off affecting her aim, honestly it's incredibly impressive she was even able to hit a bullseye the second time, she adapted extremely fast. Edit: if you do decide to check out the other movies, the explosion on the cornucopia blew out Katniss's ear drum so she loses hearing in one ear, also the wound to Peetas leg wasn't healed, they just killed the infection. He has his leg amputated before going home, the reason I bring this up when the movie doesn't is because they portray their characters off the books still in the next movies so his character doesn't make as much sense without that context of he's now disabled with a prosthetic leg.
I watch reactions to see if people get how vital Peeta was to Katniss’s survival because the problem with these movies is in order to sell the love triangle they upgraded Gale and downplayed Peeta. Peeta was done dirty by the movies. If Katniss was the spark he was the air/fuel that allowed the spark to catch fire. Peeta had rooted in her heart with that act of kindness at age 11 and Katniss who had kept track of him and watched him did catch feelings during the games. His reaping did upset her and added to the misfortune of that day. The story is mostly told in her head and Katniss is an unreliable narrator who is trying to convince the reader she is not a good person and that she isn’t in love with Peeta. The star crossed lover’s angle was not the creation of the 16 year old boy. It was the adult advisors who observed the connection and energy between Peeta and Katniss. Cinna told them to hold hands in the chariot, made sure their were recognizable and dressed them in coordinated outfits and Haymitch advised them to stick together at all times and be amiable together. When Peeta asked to be coached alone I believe this is when Peeta was brought into the strategy and advised on how to bring it home in his interview. She would not have gone along willing with the strategy so she was not told about the strategy. And if she was willing to go along with the strategy she would not have been able to sell it as it is accepted through the books that she is a bad actress and can not lie. When you go into the next film please keep in mind Peeta is an amputee who lost his leg to the mutts at the end of the first game . After Katniss’s fathers death in a mine explosion along with Gales dad and many others Katniss’s mom became so depressed that she had no strength to look after her daughters which almost caused them all to starve to death. He saw katniss and burnt the bread intentionally which his mom beat him for, but that piece of bread single handedly saved her n her sister n mom from starving to death. After that, Katniss stepped up her role in the family as the provider by hunting in the woods which her dad showed her when she was young, along with what fruits/veggies are safe to consume. However, it’s against the law to go outside the electric fence to hunt or escape, those who get caught become avoxes (the servers with the face covers, their tongue gets cut n they serve the capitol from there on out)

Please check out Lenny Kravitz, the actor musician playing Cinna. You may have seen his daughter as Catwoman in "The Batman". Her mother is actress Lisa Bonet (bow-nay) who played on Denise on The Cosby Show and A Different World. She used to be married to Jason Mamoa.
Something they didn't address in the films that I wish they would have is that the blast where Katniss blew up the career's cornucopia stash actually left Katniss deaf in her left ear for the remainder of that Games; they repaired it after the Games. In the movie, they went with blood poisoning in Peeta's leg, but in the book he was actually attacked by a muttation that mauled his calf, and he had to have his leg amputated - which is why he slips and they both fall in the beginning of Catching Fire. Also - I loved the muttations in the film, but I wish they would have gone more with what was in the book; there were 21 muttations (one for each dead tribute) and they each had the tributes eyes. Literally.
Gale and Katniss aren’t a couple. It’s quite possible he didn’t realize his feelings for her until after she left for the games but he never expressed himself. So during the games Katniss has nothing to lose with leaning into the lovers act. Whether something sparked or not
That's the thing that the movie sucked at doing, showing that they are not together. The reaction videos I've watched and 90% of the people I've talked to in person thinks it's hilariously idiotic how she keeps kissing them both and how she belongs to the streets, some people point out her age but if it was a guy doing the same thing we'd all call it how it is instead of glossing it over.
@@kiaayo33 I don’t agree. Usually the assumption they’re a couple starts with showing they’re hunting together- like why? Why is that a given just bc they’re different genders. Nothing in those interactions gave off more than friendship. She talked about never getting married or having kids- couple. At no point do they actually have a convo that says they are. It’s a weird/frustrating assumption. And then when he kisses her in the beginning of the 2nd movie he says, “I had to do that at least once”. Meaning they never kissed/ were never romantic. She was shocked too by his advances- this is all after she’d attached herself to Peeta romantically for the games. Every time she kisses him after that is out of pity to make him feel better- I don’t see how that makes viewers believe they’re a couple.
They are allowed to bring one "district token", like a good luck charm. Cinna gives Katniss back her pin as the token after the people in charge decided it couldn't really be used as a weapon (the pointy part, I guess?). In the books it says the girl from District 1 tried to bring a ring that had a hidden knife.
Peeta’s mother was abusive we learn in Catching Fire that Peeta recognizes the sound of leather on flesh. When Katniss and Peeta were 11 and she and her family were on the brink of death by starvation Peeta’s mother chased Katniss from the trash bins where she was looking for food. Peeta saw and purposefully burned two loaves full of nuts and berries knowing he would have to take a beating from his mother. After getting hit he was instructed to feed them to the pigs when his mother went back into the bakery he threw them to Katniss instead. The next day when she wanted to thank him she noticed the welt on his face and looked away and saw the first dandelion of the spring remembered it’s edible qualities and knew how she would feed her family. He inspired her hunting and foraging.

I highly recommend the second movie. In my opinion it is the best of the franchise. Katniss missed the first time because it was an unfamiliar bow. She had to get a feel for it first. She was used to a homemade bow where she had to compensate for flaws. This was probably precision made so would have a different feel.
Woody Harrelson was first in Cheers, a long running sit com. In addition to Zombieland, he is also excellent in Season 1 of True Detective. He was Larty Flint in The People vs. Larry Flint. He has a lot more but that is what my memory holds. .

Me and my family binged the entire franchise (except the prequel cause it was too expensive to rent on Amazon) when it was cold in Texas and I enjoyed every one of them, the cast is great from Jennifer Lawrence to Josh Hutcherson, the action, and the heart. Im very excited for yall to watch this fun franchise!
I've said this in the past, but it's always true: Donald Sutherland makes a really good villain as President Snow. It's kind of the same paradox with Imelda Staunton/Dolores Umbridge from Harry Potter: a delightful actor playing such a vile, despicable character.
The winner of the Hunger Games pretty much get rewarded with a comfortable life and money, but they are still paraded around by the Capitol. In essence, no one really wins the Games except for the Capitol.

She’s 14 or so in the book, but they decided to cast a young woman for the character…I like jlaw, but i admit I was upset with the casting for Katniss and Gale. Both looked too grown and all 3 (gale, Katniss, and Peeta) looked too well fed. Y’all rather missed quite a bit by not paying attention: Rue’s district and male tribute were shown during training camp, the berries were real, y’all just saw them kill the “Fox face” girl…the bowl of berries was telling the game maker to end his own life.

Something they didn't address in the films that I wish they would have is that the blast where Katniss blew up the career's cornucopia stash actually left Katniss deaf in her left ear for the remainder of that Games; they repaired it after the Games. In the movie, they went with blood poisoning in Peeta's leg, but in the book he was actually attacked by a muttation that mauled his calf, and he had to have his leg amputated - which is why he slips and they both fall in the beginning of Catching Fire. Also - I loved the muttations in the film, but I wish they would have gone more with what was in the book; there were 21 muttations (one for each dead tribute) and they each had the tributes eyes. Literally.
Jennifer Lawrence is really one of the best actresses.

Gale and Katniss aren’t a couple. It’s quite possible he didn’t realize his feelings for her until after she left for the games but he never expressed himself.
So during the games Katniss has nothing to lose with leaning into the lovers act. Whether something sparked or not

The reaction videos I've watched and 90% of the people I've talked to in person thinks it's hilariously idiotic how she keeps kissing them both and how she belongs to the streets, some people point out her age but if it was a guy doing the same thing we'd all call it how it is instead of glossing it over.
@@kiaayo33 I don’t agree. Usually the assumption they’re a couple starts with showing they’re hunting together- like why? Why is that a given just bc they’re different genders. Nothing in those interactions gave off more than friendship. She talked about never getting married or having kids- couple. At no point do they actually have a convo that says they are. It’s a weird/frustrating assumption.
And then when he kisses her in the beginning of the 2nd movie he says, “I had to do that at least once”. Meaning they never kissed/ were never romantic. She was shocked too by his advances- this is all after she’d attached herself to Peeta romantically for the games.
Every time she kisses him after that is out of pity to make him feel better- I don’t see how that makes viewers believe they’re a couple.
They are allowed to bring one "district token", like a good luck charm. Cinna gives Katniss back her pin as the token after the people in charge decided it couldn't really be used as a weapon (the pointy part, I guess?). In the books it says the girl from District 1 tried to bring a ring that had a hidden knife.
Peeta’s mother was abusive we learn in Catching Fire that Peeta recognizes the sound of leather on flesh. When Katniss and Peeta were 11 and she and her family were on the brink of death by starvation Peeta’s mother chased Katniss from the trash bins where she was looking for food. Peeta saw and purposefully burned two loaves full of nuts and berries knowing he would have to take a beating from his mother. After getting hit he was instructed to feed them to the pigs when his mother went back into the bakery he threw them to Katniss instead. The next day when she wanted to thank him she noticed the welt on his face and looked away and saw the first dandelion of the spring remembered it’s edible qualities and knew how she would feed her family. He inspired her hunting and foraging.

I highly recommend the second movie. In my opinion it is the best of the franchise. Katniss missed the first time because it was an unfamiliar bow. She had to get a feel for it first. She was used to a homemade bow where she had to compensate for flaws. This was probably precision made so would have a different feel.

Me and my family binged the entire franchise (except the prequel cause it was too expensive to rent on Amazon) when it was cold in Texas and I enjoyed every one of them, the cast is great from Jennifer Lawrence to Josh Hutcherson, the action, and the heart. Im very excited for yall to watch this fun franchise!

She’s 14 or so in the book, but they decided to cast a young woman for the character…I like jlaw, but i admit I was upset with the casting for Katniss and Gale. Both looked too grown and all 3 (gale, Katniss, and Peeta) looked too well fed. Y’all rather missed quite a bit by not paying attention: Rue’s district and male tribute were shown during training camp, the berries were real, y’all just saw them kill the “Fox face” girl…the bowl of berries was telling the game maker to end his own life.
