Flashpoint Donnie Yen v. Collin Chou about 8 or so minutes The Raid and The Raid 2 have a lot of good long fights The 10 v 1 Ip Man fight is brutal but only 2 minutes This is Donnie Yen being slower for the other actor (Wu Jing) to have better reactions and to show a better presence on film because of budgets, far from his "best" but it is "the best for what they wanted to shoot with the money they had" so it fits the style of the film but is still far from being a pro at his best.
Wu Jing despite his cold-blooded mimic in this scene, he's actually loveable and laughs a lot huh? such a cinnamon roll. Protect Wu Jing at all cost 😌💘
You know, most fights are filmed slower and later sped up because the actors aren’t skilled enough, this right here is filled in 100% speed and that is awesome.
@@deathgamer8086 That's not exclusive to Bruce Lee b/c most movies are still filmed at 24 fps to this day. Many performers are instructed to slow down their movements.
Thanks for the video, this an extremely rare footage for any martial arts movies fans, great choreography from Donnie yen and wu jing and still one of the best fight scenes I’ve seen in any movies top five for sure
That fight scene is a killer, you can literally see my adrenaline go up and down. I get so anxious to think of my white clothes getting blood stained . You guys killed this scene, you guys are two beasts 💕😱🙂😍😍😍😍
When it looks all flashy and nice in theaters this is the pains taking moment of it behind the screen just trying to put together a few scenes is really a lot of good effort work in reality,,,,,glad i saw this it was actually the best scene in the movie for me
When anyone says martial arts actors are just that - actors, show them this. You can’t block hits this effectively and swiftly unless you’ve had years of martial arts training.
Wujing is so badass in this scene. He's one of my favorite actors. By the way, @56:25 Donnie was speechless because his champagne bottle didn't pop. LOL
30:18 I love his description of the difference between Eastern and Western filming of fight scenes. Totally reinforces my opinion of our way of filming fight scenes being inferior to Hong Kong fight scenes. For example, I cannot think of one of our fight scenes in the States that even comes close to the end fight between Wu Jing, Tony Jaa, and Max Zhang in SPL2.
That's real speed...nothing was crank up in the film. They did slow down a few reaction Close up for drama cutaway but the fight scenes were real speed.
I don't think you heard the whole commentary that was actually Donnie going slower so the other guy (Wu Jing) can actually react to it and you can see some of his moves in the clips are much faster than others he did
I act as an amateur since here where I live certain things are not accepted as in the Asian martial arts movie industry. But the hard work is always so much! Shot after shot it takes hours sometimes just to get a few minutes of fighting. In my last work we shot five hours for just a 30 minutes of film and we were all so tired! So always keep up the great work and never give up!
Okay that is just crazy -- the absolutely best part about the fight scene was the parts that Donnie Yen improvised!?!?!?! WHat?!?!?! That is really something. They could have done the whole fight that way and it would have been cool. Yes, the choreographed parts are neat and well done, but the improvised stuff is absolutely top notch.
I am so glad I could watch this film making video because I was so....thrilled and frightened. The bad guy looked like a devil from the he'll. It is so released to see his cute smile in real life. Lol
I need to watch behind the scenes of IP MAN 4 .. that's gonna be the master piece. They fought so hard.. that some got injured.. even though some of the moves are cherography
Charles Ooko thats just your opinion. you can search on google about donie yen. vietnamese and chinese call chung to don. when he was young he is not a good person. in this firm. he tried hurt on ngo kinh and orther actors. damn. he is very bad :)
@@nguyenminh1382 His opinion? You have any proof to prove that it is an opinion? Not a good person? Based on what facts? And no your terrible rambling before doesn't count So he's a very bad person because he wants to make the fights look real or appealing by having actors including himself to get hurt? Go back to watching oliver megaton-style hollywood movies, clearly well-done chinese action movies aren't for you.
Wu jing looks so cute when he was younger..and now he aged still looking good...just like wine..maturity brings out the best of him ..I'd been watching his films lately..he's a great actor..salute to you Wu Jing..
Donnie yen is so stunning. I really love 2c his smiling face. Very talented actor. Just a little bit upset our hero died at d end. Curious 2 know what exactly happen 2 wong po. Overall Very nice action movie. ❤️❤️❤️
To this day I was thinking the fight scene was actually slow, later fast forwarded for film. Now I am thinking how on earth Wu Jing manged to connect the much larger metal rod (may be hollow or may not be but still metal, the sound at 8:47) , coming at blistering speed from Donnie Yen, with his knife without getting hurt almost all the times.
@@wilykat Yes he is one of the best. I already know that from different comments also from wiki. I became his fan when I saw the close combat scene in "fatal contact". What I wanted to mean is that his performance was truly unbelievable (amazing).
Oh,he did get hurt man, when Donnie knock out the knife out of his hand, that was a real hit. They did go against each other to get the feeling of a real fight. Only they had a few cut scene in between shots. Honestly,Wu Jing is super cool but I don't wanna be him at this time tho.
These behind the scenes is priceless. Let's people know how much hard work and effort is put into each fight scene.
Just the tip of the iceberg since many old school fight scenes take months to shoot w/ the cast & crew sleeping on the set.

This is the reason why Asian fighting scene is more better than hollywood
of course , HK kung fu flim is the best
this is what i like about these HK martial arts movies. they are so realistic and committed towards the end product and never fail to deliver
Good days of Hong Kong, not anymore though.
This is still one of the best 5 minute fights on film. Imaginative camera angles and two pros at their best.
Though fights are choreographics.. they fought hard enough

Remember his movie (Wu Jing) the "Legendary Assassin"? 1 of his best, the choreo is the best
Donnie: We need more funds for a good hand-to-hand fight.
Producer: Aight, here's a baton and a knife. There's your funds.
The end result is phenomenal, they really worked hard on this. 💖
