wow, Thomas' submission piece is so good...how did he get the eyes to look so real? They have a wet sheen that looks so lifelike...same with the eyes on his sitter for the challenge....just into the colour stage, the same realistic sheen
I Adore this show, and I think "Vic" is a multitalented man. That being said, sadly, he was a poor choice for this competition. Others seemed more deserving to me; however, I understand that art is subjective. KUDOS TO YOU! Thanks ever so much for posting this! We have nothing that compares in the U.S.
JIM'S "Devil portrait" is the fabulous and striking winner for original style design, miraculous use of color and uncanny resemblance of HOWARD JACOBSON whose face has replaced that of Charlton Heston's as the true biblical MOSES for me.!!!!
Are you sure it's not more bc people are a fan of him as a comedian? People buy famous people's signatures on boring objects but it's not for the aesthetics of them.
@@IceCenders I really like the wonkiness of his artwork. It speaks to me... like the act of painting is more than just the finished piece. And the almost flatness of the pieces with the bold colors. I'm a graphic designer and I feel like it has the feeling of an interesting marketing piece haha.
I feel like the episode was supposed to be a joke/whimsical episode, I believe they chose a 'fun' winner, the best of the 'jokes pieces' so to speak, to go with the tone of the episode. They probably shouldn't have included someone who could actually draw/paint something fantastic that could practically compete in the normal PAOTY.
@@KristineMaitland Honestly annoying. Not sure why they don't either change up the judges or have the 'people' vote? The 'people' are the ones that will purchase, share, and actually visit their galleries. Lol...I just get so frustrated.
The judges take salaries to condescendingly pass judgment on artists' paintings. Let's see each of them paint a portrait in 4 hrs while being pestered all the time by actual artists.
Maureen is one of those people that makes my hackles rise on sight. Has an Ego the size of a small planet with not much to back it up. It was clear she had no idea who her sitter was, then even after his career so far was explained ,she proceeded to treat him like some aspiring kid from drama school. 'How dare he be more talented than ME? ME, whose only claim to fame was being an overbearing Jewish momma in a TV advert? (No it wasn't typecasting!)' He is 35, you sad old Bat! If you are so old that you think of 35 year olds as 'boys' and ''lads 'you really need to book the geriatric home.
I would still like to see the judges sit for a portrait!!!! come on people lets get them to do it
Yes indeed, great idea, like doctors having to undergo an operation.
Yes! Great idea!
I'd like to watch TaiShan paint a portrait.
Tai Shen is a master I've seen his painting. He deserves to be the judge.
Fantastic fun! Thank you for posting!!!!
That was so entertaining. I admire the way the judges always give positive comments lol
I love it 🙂 Thank you for the upload. - The winning painter is remarkable...
If it wasn't 4:30 in the morning, I would be delighted about the energizing effect of this delightful episode! Cheers to the winner!
Same. I keep trying to quell my giggles.
Tom is a true artist. His painting of Kanye is lovely.
I love the colorful face submission so so much. Glad he won! The photorealistic guy was amazing too, and could totally have won also
Jim's painting was outstanding. Deserving winner. Still can't get over the fact that he's not a "Vic" though.
This was so much fun! Thanks for posting. I hope PAOTY will do this again.

I'll be darned...who knew this would be so much fun!
A riot, this one!
Thank you for posting this.
"a young, thrusting lad" 😂

Loved this!
Ty 😊
Weirdly, Joe's art sells quite well. It has a lot of charm

@@EricaGamet That's totally fair! Art is subjective and if it works for you then that's what matters. :)
31:02 😆I mean, stylistic choice
Portrait or comedy 😊👍
No, no, no... Thomas' portrait in watercolor of Kanye King was far and away the best... and maybe the ONLY great portrait of the lot.

I have to turn off the before I hear the judges' winner.
It usually infuriates me.
They chose the WRONG one ... AGAIN!!!
@@gerrianderson6397 more like as usual.

where can i sine up
do yall know how to bee one of the contestants
Joe Lycett did Celebrity Bake Off,too he's a real sport.
Why not paint commoners for a change?
Cool, yeah, pick someone from the crowd.
What was the point of this? These weren't serious paintings. Why did they do this?

Maureen is too phylosophical, too much psycologic, no talent to draw!😂😂
