Great idea for conserving the resoures for the future. I've been fishing the Skyway since the 90's and I cant tell you how many times I've witnessed PEOPLE fishing illegally, keeping undersized or out of season fish and trashing the place. So anything is s step in the right direction.

Fwc doesn't know what they are enforcing half the time and if you don't believe me call and ask them a question about any law see how long it takes to get an answer
The Pelicans hang out around the Pier cause the Angulars feed them a fish or two. If they stop feeding them maybe they'll go right back on the Jetties. And feed off the fish in the water.
Anglers dont feed the birds,people trying to catch them to remove the hook have been feeding them and now have educated all of them that humans mean a easy meal.there are videos to prove that.
Fishing on a pier in FL seagulls and pelicans were always a problem. But if you bring a dog with you they just fly by and look at the dog as they are leaving.
If its the birds your concerned with. Why not make it a law to not feed the bird while fishing or around fishing areas. They hang out near humans because humans will throw them a freebie. I hate watching an angler feed the fish. They should know better. The multi hook thing is completely absurd!!!
it's posted with signs out there, the anglers are not the problem, it's the FOP trying to lure them in with fish and have educated all the birds and tourist that are oblivious to the rules
I am an avid tampa bay angler and I am okay with these rules. I love fishing more than anything but hate to see birds being injured by sabikis if that is what is happening
Fact of the matter is they say we kill 3600 birds a year at the skyway alone but have no actual proof of that number and they never will because you'd also have to prove those birds didn't get tangled elsewhere
Annul education will be required ! Or it’s a second degree misdemeanor. Welcome to Florida from the wildlife gestapo , enjoy your stay or will fine you and give you a criminal record , ( up date - so you cannot use a fishing lure with treble hooks because of the one hook law from the leftest fishing gestapo )

They pass stupid rules to appease people who complain. Just like having to have a “online course” you must complete to shark fish from shore.
They should protect the unborn with as such vigor. ♥️🙏♥️

My little kids 5-8 use little sibiki to catch tiny green fish. Is that tiny 5 hook lure a no no now? my logic is saying yes. I'm hoping it's not.

dogs are not allowed on the pier unless it's a service dog.
