    The thing that brings me here is your great narration and the fact you combine all my loves, old lionels, railkings, and premier.

    First time commenting on your channel and congratulations on 200 (and counting) subs. I too would be nervous running modern locos on slow-burn fuses of those older ZW’s but to each his own. It was pleasant to hear you comment about no desires to run trains from a phone or pad, “I come here to get away from that”. I thought I was the only one to feel this way and is one reason I’m comfortable with my Cab-1L remote; I never want to deal with software upgrading issues or any computer crap on my trains- that’s just me.
    Best of luck going forward... let’s all keep our shorts at bay!

      Thank you Ken! I can’t believe it, but here we are a few short months later almost to 2k subs. I’m pretty amazed by it! Luckily I still haven’t had an issue with the old ZW’s. They have been doing great. Glad to hear as well, another person with the same perspective on the phones/tablet. Remotes are enough for me as well. Thank you for watching! Take care

      Hey you put fast fuses on the power lines to protect the modern electronics.
      Of course. You take apart the transformers and put in quick blowing fuses. As I modified my ZW....Love the channel.

    Love your layout!!! I still power my layout conventionally with my two Zws and my Kw is arriving this week. Sure I have trains that can run command but I prefer my postwar Era trains. Eventually I'll make the plung and get a Tmcc setup so I can finally see what my modern trains can do. But for now I'm happy running conventional... Keep your videos coming.

    I absolutely agree we like conventional and traditional way of running trains the smell of track and electricity is awesome I think it should be able to be compatible and retrofit with a modern it's a part of the essence of what running electric trains are about and looks tradition and operation we fully back yeah the Nelson's

      @@CountryBunkersTrains I'll have this on my computer. So I can show my son. Hope I can get away with 4 lock downs. One on each wall. I have a Z-1000 brick or the Lionel 180 Powerhouse. I know it's going to be a TRICKY hook up either way and A LOT OF WIRE. Still figuring on using Menards track. Those lighted lock downs are made by Lionel right??

Plus the other section ain't even built yet that's going to be 6x10 🤷‍♂️

    Great video! At one point you mentioned getting a locomotive upgraded to proto sound 3.0. I have been looking to have that done n one of mine but I can’t find anyone that will perform that. Would you mind informing me where/ who did yours?

    • @CountryBunkersTrains
      @CountryBunkersTrains  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!! Mike and Tony at Roundhouse South Trains in Port Orange FL have done a couple for me, and they have been great. The problem right now though is getting the upgrade kits to do the work. Supply is very few and far between. MTH is not making a lot due to shortages at the moment.

    • @zacharycannata3183
      @zacharycannata3183 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for that info. I have noticed that they aren’t easy to find. I saw one on eBay a few months ago and wish I bought it. I have one follow up question. I’m trying to upgrade a locomotive that’s ps 1.0 currently. Is it possible to take a ps 3.0 out of another engine and install it into mine and then just download the proper sound file and install it?

    Do you have any fuses between the Lionel bricks and the tiu? I'm going to be powering my tiu with a tmcc zw that has four power bricks. I'm paranoid that the tiu will fry.

    • @CountryBunkersTrains
      @CountryBunkersTrains  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do not. Haven’t fried one yet. Have had a couple derailments, and even set the original breakers off in the ZW’s and haven’t seemed to hurt a TIU. Could be extremely lucky though too…. LOL I have popped a couple fuses in the TIU with the newer powered bricks (Lionel 135w). I guess the breaker on the brick wasn’t/isn’t quick enough sometimes…

    • @CountryBunkersTrains
      @CountryBunkersTrains  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey John! What would you like to know? Hook up with a ZW is fairly simple. The base comes with a wall plug. All you have to do is plug it in, and run a wire from the base to the neutral or negative track hook up (outer rail) along with your ZW. Power the track up to 18 volts, and good to go. Just add batteries to the remote, and you are off. Hopefully this helps. Thank you for watching.
