Hi I love all your videos!!! Thank you so much for all the tips and tricks. I have a question. Is it ok to just feed puppies and older dogs homemade food. The recipe that i found includes beef, chicken thighs, gizzards and hearts, pork, ground turkey, liver, low sodium beans, brown rice, carrots, sweet potato, low sodium green beans, unsalted beef broth, and eggs. They are basically all boiled together and can be frozen for a couple of months. Just wondering if this would be ok for my pups. I hope you are able to answer this. I don’t have a vet appointment for my pups until next month and I really want to feed them the best.Thank you!

Dogs should not be fed preservatives. I suggest getting familiar with all the names they hide under and definitely read all the ingredients. Preservatives are usual found in the lower half of the ingredients.
Love your work! What's your opinion on raw food diets? I'm taking about diligent attention to complete and balanced nutrition (BARF, Prey Model, etc.), not just feed a bunch of raw meat.
It's a lot of work, I wonder if you think it's worth it...

@@HowToTrainADreamDog Thanks, but the vast majority of vets are barely trained in canine nutrition. Additionally, most are sellouts to big pet food companies who pay them to sell their kibble.
My vet only recommends Royal Canin, which he conveniently sells from his office.
To maximize profits, many food factories use substandard ingredients. Dogs (and cats, etc.) have not evolved to eat kibble, just as humans have not evolved yet to eat the garbage in typical fast food. Yes, we can survive on it, but it comes with a lot of health issues.
Any nutritionist worth their salt would say that fresh species-specific food is best any for dog, cat, ferret, human, etc...
If you don't want to put the care and diligence that you put into your other excellent videos into advice about feeding, that's okay it's your channel.
FYI, general practice veterinarians are as qualified to give specialized advice about nutrition, as a general practice MD is about giving specialized advice on brain surgery. They know a little bit about it, and they probably haven't updated their information since they were in med school.

@@hoa8954 ... I feed my dog a commercial raw food so I don't have to worry about balancing meat, bone, and organ ratios. Since I'm a beginner I find thats the easiest way and maybe once I'm more experienced do dyi.
I have a large breed Anatolian pup. He’s been scratching a lot and his stool was very loose.
The vet had given him antibiotics because he had given himself a rash under his armpits and his lower tummy. I thought the medicine was the reason for the loose stool.
We have a vet appointment tomorrow, coincidentally. So this video was perfect timing. Thank you ❤️

My 4 month old girl loves her kibble but she loves a few other things as well: strawberries, sliced apples, frozen blueberries to name a few! We put baby food green beans and other veggies on a licky-mat for her as well.

Ok so I've had a lot of dogs my whole life , and iv always fed them regular parina dog chow, parina puppy chow for the little ones , is parina dog chow a good dog food , is there a better choice? Could you give me a rating , best to worst , where does parina land ?

On most dog food labels the ingredients are listed from greatest amount to least amount. If the food you are feeding your dog starts with corn, this doesn't sound like good quality food. The first ingredient should always be a protein source.

Great question, this is something that is best discussed with a veterinary nutritionist. Your regular vet might not be able to provide the best advice on this.

What should i do if my pup likes to eat his own pop? he also don't like to eat his dogfood, i have to give it with something more to make him eat, he can stay days without eating because he don't like his dogfood

We suggest you resist the urge to doctor up your puppy’s food. If he’s not eating he may be overwhelmed (especially if he’s new to your home), he may have sore gums, an upset stomach or he may be holding out for something better. Puppy kibble contains the most nutrients and we don't want to teach our puppies that if they don’t eat, they get something better next time. When it’s mealtime, put down the food for 10-15 minutes. Then pick up any remaining food and make it part of the next meal but don’t give more than the normal amount (only give what the normal portion would be). All dogs are food motivated, but it might take a few meals for them to get the idea that they should eat what is served at the time it is served.
@@HowToTrainADreamDog Thanks, he has lived with us like 6 month to this date(he has 7 months), he started developing this behaviour one month ago, and before that was hard to get him to eat his whole food. The vet only told me that he's being petty with his food but nothing about that poop problem
