I didn’t know you could make the lettuce hem with a sewing machine. I use my serger with a rolled hem and stretch it to make the lettuce hem. I learned something new! Good tutorial.

Gritting my teeth just a little, as these patterns haven't fit well enough for me to want to wear them very much. Your lounge set looks very nice. I have found that the basic solid colored garments that I have sewn I get worn a lot. I FINALLY finished my Take the Chance shirt dress!!! I did have a lot of trouble with the button holes. It was the machine(mostly, lol) so I bought a new machine!!! I bought it local and so far I love it. I finished the buttonholes on my new machine and they look wonderful! I like the dress so much that I I have already cut out another one. It’s going much faster this time because I already did all the fitting and am familiar with the sewing steps. I also finished my first pair of knitted socks and they fit. It’s so exciting. Been busy with family and VBS and my job. So I appreciate my crafting time even if it’s not a lot. I hope you have a wonderful weekend camping. Thank you for sharing with us Tiffany ❤️

No I don’t mind at all, it’s fur to share. I got a Phaff Passport 2.0. I bought it from the owner of a local shop that has been selling sewing machines for 30 years. I told him I wanted a sewing machine that has a reliable button hole feature and a nice straight stitch. He recommended the passport. A great feature of it is the differential feed is engaged by a lever so no big foot to attach. In the rare case of not wanting to use it , it can easily be disengaged. The button hole it makes is the best I have seen on any machine I’ve ever had. I will be using it again soon because the Take the Chance dress version that I’m making has twelve buttons down the front. I’m really excited about this machine since I make a lot of garments that have button holes and I’m thrilled to have the differential feed option so easy to use. Probably more information than you wanted but it’s fun! Enjoy the rest of your weekend❤️

My sister found it in a yard sale for $10 😂 it’s definitely not my measurements and I really just use it to show garments here in my videos. Sorry for not more helpful information there, Zelda! Thank you for the tutorial for the lettuce hem. I can do them on my serger, never thought of doing on a home machine....great job. Is the rib knit you're using on this that really silky feeling knit? I bought some and thought maybe it'd be hard to sew with.

This rib knit is a little more silky, it’s modal so that makes it incredibly soft. Even so, I didn’t find it any more difficult to sew with as opposed to other kinds of rib knit. Thanks so much for asking about Addy and her little sewing machine, Carol! She loves playing with it so much! She’ll take the scraps I cut away as I’m cutting out patterns and pretend to sew them, haha. Right now, the needle needs fixed on it so it’s not actually going to sew any pieces together so I’m letting her play with it. I just love her imagination and her interest in sewing 🥰

Hello, Zelda! This dress form is actually just a decorative one, not an actual sewing one. My sister found it in a yard sale for $10 😂 it’s definitely not my measurements and I really just use it to show garments here in my videos. Sorry for not more helpful information there, Zelda! Thank you for the tutorial for the lettuce hem. I can do them on my serger, never thought of doing on a home machine....great job. Is the rib knit you're using on this that really silky feeling knit? I bought some and thought maybe it'd be hard to sew with.
Hello, Diane! Thank you so much for watching! Yes! I’ve seen the lettuce hem done on a serger, I need to give that a try! This rib knit is a little more silky, it’s modal so that makes it incredibly soft. Even so, I didn’t find it any more difficult to sew with as opposed to other kinds of rib knit. When actually sewing my garment, I used my walking foot to help hold my fabrics together better, that helps so much! Thanks for the great question, Diane! Happy Sewing ❤️~Tiffany
