Avec un autre je tiens 3 minutes, pas plus : Toujours la même voix, souvent grossière ou faible comparée à la sienne, ornements inexistants ou mal placés....Je me suis fait avoir par O à un moment, c'était par ignorance de la vraie passion et de la pure beauté vocale réinventée à chaque répertoire et non pas ressassée à toutes les occasions qui se présentent . Sehr schön ausgedrückt! Warum muss immer verglichen und gegeneinander ausgespielt werden. Alle diese Sänger haben außergewöhnliche Stimmen. Außerdem sind die Aufnahmen offenbar unter sehr verschiedenen akustischen Gegebenheiten gemacht worden, so dass man gar nicht wirklich vergleichen kann.

My absolute favorite was always Jaroussky. Until I heard Franco Fagioli for the first time. That voice is just awesome. This technique, this tuning, this perfection. Close your eyes and enjoy.

David Daniels should be on the list. For me he combines a sultry, macho power with impeccable technique and gorgeous tone. However all these counter tenors are wonderful and we are so lucky to hear them on UTube. There is so much music where they are unbeatable even by the best mezzo.

Orlinsky & Scholl have imo a true countertenor sound. Fagioli has the sound of a perfect mezzo woman to me. All perfect. The other two also beautiful. Of course there is Handel to thank.
Dans le chant baroque la voix de haute-contre est différente de celle des castrats . Parce qu'elle ne peut faire vibrer les cordes vocales que sur une petite partie de leur longueur. Il en résulte un timbre avec très peu ou sans vibrato . Le répertoire des hautes-contre est orienté vers les œuvres religieuses, les choeurs.... " Ces 2 ou 3 ont donc des voix de haute contre , pas de castrats qui charmaient en grande partie grâce à leurs vibratos virtuoses très travaillés .... Les oeuvres religieuses conviendraient mieux à certains ici .

IMO Jakub is the Ascending Maestro....a voice that pierces the soul almost mortally! But why Handel all the time? The melodically haunting Vivaldi is where Jakub wears the crown....but I only ever hear 'Vedro......'! I have begged and pleaded with him to sing 'Souvente il sole' but my entreaties have fallen on deaf ears - alas!!! Max Cencic is the current King of that particular aria (IMO) BUT I would love Jakub to enchant us therein with his golden voice too! We are SOOOO BLESSED to have all these splendid counter-tenors living in our times - heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of them! God bless them all 🌹➕🌹

Jestem dumna z takiego Polaka, jak Jakub i gratuluję wyjątkowej pasji w tym rozkrzyczanym świecie pełnym szmiry. Głos pana Jakuba sprawia, że ulatujemy szczęśliwi do nieba, relaksujemy się, dziękujemy Bogu za taki dar. Co za rozkosz artystyczna ! Głos naturalny, który nie jest sztucznie rozbujany wyuczoną wibracją, nie forsowany. Pan Jakub znakomicie łączy dźwięki i rejestry, sprawnie wykonuje ozdobniki, ma nienaganną dykcję. Do tego jeszcze te ekspresyjne gesty nierozerwalnie związane z muzyką... Po prostu ideał. Jeszcze tylko chcę wiedzieć, czy równie dobrze tańczy 😊 ? Brawo panie Jakubie i życzę sukcesów !
Orlinski and Scholl best... They both have that clear, bright and well aimed pitch... They both sing naturally with a deep touch of soul. Fagioli seems to overwhelm with vibrato... On top of that Orlinski's voice remains masculine which is what it should be like in my opinion.
@@canutillorojo Jakub Orlinski has changed my expectations from the countertenor voice. He proved that it was possible to retain a masculine colour throughout the whole register. I think that Scholl must have been his first inspiration but Jakub went much further in seeking the ways how to retain it. Both Orlinski and Scholl use lots of straight tone which just beautiful and appropriate in Baroque music. They have not drowned in vibrato which may be irritating (to me) when overused... lol
Orlinsky is the only counter tenor who has the warm and dark sound of the Contralto, the quintessential androgyne (this man is a natural bass, most others are baritones with the mezzo soprano sound).

Toate melismele, vibratoul si infloriturile ad libidum..sunt specifice . Jaroussky are o voce ingereasca , pura , cristalina unica in registrul ei. Franco Fagioli este de departe vocea cea mai expresiva si cu cea mai mare intindere, forta , culoare, caldura care se plieaza cel mai bine pe stilul baroc. Si nu ma refer doar la piesa asta ci in opera lui Vinci sub regia lui Purcarete unde a avut o arie de cateva minute ..nu cred ca Andreas sau cel care pozeaza la bustul gol..ar fi putut sa o sustina pana la capat . Poate doar Cencic . Este un alt contratenor englez, imi scapa numele acum ..care interpreteaza sublim aria asta doar cu acompaniament de pian. Muzica , pana la urma, trebuie sa ne dea o stare si sa creeze emotie. Cam la fel este si cu marii pianisti. Pot interpreta tehnic aproape perfect..daca nu se transmite emotie este doar o proba de virtuozitate.Pacat ca Scholl are o voce frumoasa dar parca ..taia .din finalul notelor. Dar in chestiunile de gust si preferinta trebuie sa respectam alegerea fiecaruia .Succes tuturor!
Why do you think Fagioli fits best into the Baroque style? Where did you get it from? His singing flooded by extensive vibrato does not match the style at all. When you watch him singing, his face expressions show that to sing this way must be very tiring for him... His mouth work is so excessive... Honestly, he might be a "typical operatic singer" for female characters in Rossini, Donizetti operas but for sure not for Baroque music. To add to this, I must say that he sounds like a female along with Jaroussky (pure but very thin voice with excellent technique). Is that what castratos would sound like taking into account they were men castrated before puberty? I very doubt it. On the other side you have Andreas Scholl (much more masculine beautiful voice with moderate vibrato) and Jakub Orlinski (who did not sacrifice his masculinity at all and with very little vibrato or nearly a straight angelic voice like it is often described by most youtubers).

So for me Fagioli, Jaroussky , Valter Sabadus Cencic..have special voicesc..all countertenors are good but I like some as they are ( for me ) only one who are doing better their job ..in făct IT is a matter of choise ..
@@steladumitru79 Of course it is all the matter of taste. I have never said it is different. Hence the audience can freely decide who they like and for what. For me personally, too much vibrato is something that makes me tired after a while and I do not find it stylish for Baroque music. Too much vibrato affects the quality of diction as well. I prefer the masculine colour line of countertenors.
This is a preposterous question, unless it is meant to be taken as "Which one appealed most to your senses?" Artistic interpretation is as personal as it gets, so the question is parallel to "Which person has the best nose?"
Fascinating to compare the interpretations. Jakub O is totally adorable and talented but in this instance Andreas S's bell-like resonance takes the top spot. With Philippe J we have the richest line-up of countertenors since the age of recordings began. Xx to all.
School is the purest with orlinski minutely behind - but Mehta's extreme coloration is the one that had me almost in tears and it's him emoting I'd rather see live, every time.

Even though this particular interpretation is not his finest, still Andreas Scholl has by far the best interpretation of all. Effortlessly angelical. No one else can repeat that amazingly powerful and heartfelt performance at the Glyndebourne Opera Festival in 1998. For the time. Google it, you'll agree with me, and be glad to have discovered it. Mr Mehta has the worst recording. The most beautiful voice has Andreas Scholl, and his technique of singing is fantastic. But I must say that Jakub Orliński is most romantic in his performance. His delicate vibratos shiver every piece of my heart

Oui, c'est un grand chanteur, mais trop occupé à sculpter sa technique, ce qui le rend un peu ennuyeux. Pas pour une écoute quotidienne.

Orlinsky & Scholl have imo a true countertenor sound. Fagioli has the sound of a perfect mezzo woman to me. All perfect. The other two also beautiful. Of course there is Handel to thank.

Dans le chant baroque la voix de haute-contre est différente de celle des castrats . Parce qu'elle ne peut faire vibrer les cordes vocales que sur une petite partie de leur longueur. Il en résulte un timbre avec très peu ou sans vibrato . Le répertoire des hautes-contre est orienté vers les œuvres religieuses, les choeurs.... " Ces 2 ou 3 ont donc des voix de haute contre , pas de castrats qui charmaient en grande partie grâce à leurs vibratos virtuoses très travaillés .... Les oeuvres religieuses conviendraient mieux à certains ici .

IMO Jakub is the Ascending Maestro....a voice that pierces the soul almost mortally! But why Handel all the time? The melodically haunting Vivaldi is where Jakub wears the crown....but I only ever hear 'Vedro......'! I have begged and pleaded with him to sing 'Souvente il sole' but my entreaties have fallen on deaf ears - alas!!! Max Cencic is the current King of that particular aria (IMO) BUT I would love Jakub to enchant us therein with his golden voice too! We are SOOOO BLESSED to have all these splendid counter-tenors living in our times - heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of them! God bless them all 🌹➕🌹

Jakub Józef Orliński i Philippe Jaroussky, to według mnie najlepsi wykonawcy muzyki dawnej ostatnich czasów. Jestem dumna z takiego Polaka, jak Jakub i gratuluję wyjątkowej pasji w tym rozkrzyczanym świecie pełnym szmiry. Głos pana Jakuba sprawia, że ulatujemy szczęśliwi do nieba, relaksujemy się, dziękujemy Bogu za taki dar. Co za rozkosz artystyczna ! Głos naturalny, który nie jest sztucznie rozbujany wyuczoną wibracją, nie forsowany. Pan Jakub znakomicie łączy dźwięki i rejestry, sprawnie wykonuje ozdobniki, ma nienaganną dykcję. Do tego jeszcze te ekspresyjne gesty nierozerwalnie związane z muzyką... Po prostu ideał. Jeszcze tylko chcę wiedzieć, czy równie dobrze tańczy 😊 ? Brawo panie Jakubie i życzę sukcesów !

Scholl absolutely is the purest and cleanest voice. Orlinski has gorgeous tone and is the best at expressiveness.
Orlinski and Scholl best... They both have that clear, bright and well aimed pitch... They both sing naturally with a deep touch of soul. Fagioli seems to overwhelm with vibrato... On top of that Orlinski's voice remains masculine which is what it should be like in my opinion.
I completely agree with you! I have listened to many performances and Orlinkski is by far the best. Clean, effortless, easy performance.
@@canutillorojo Jakub Orlinski has changed my expectations from the countertenor voice. He proved that it was possible to retain a masculine colour throughout the whole register. I think that Scholl must have been his first inspiration but Jakub went much further in seeking the ways how to retain it. Both Orlinski and Scholl use lots of straight tone which just beautiful and appropriate in Baroque music. They have not drowned in vibrato which may be irritating (to me) when overused... lol
Orlinsky is the only counter tenor who has the warm and dark sound of the Contralto, the quintessential androgyne (this man is a natural bass, most others are baritones with the mezzo soprano sound).
Sunt interpreti care au tehnica vocala diferita, timbru diferit, volum, ..dar dincolo de subiectivismul unora sau altora pe mine m - a interesat cine a cantat cu acuratete, cu sensibilitate tinand cont ca vorbim de muzica baroca unde Il Divo , castratul trebuia sa dea nota personala fiecarei partituri intrucat specific acestei perioade este de a pune in primul rand in valoare vocea ! Toate melismele, vibratoul si infloriturile ad libidum..sunt specifice . Jaroussky are o voce ingereasca , pura , cristalina unica in registrul ei. Franco Fagioli este de departe vocea cea mai expresiva si cu cea mai mare intindere, forta , culoare, caldura care se plieaza cel mai bine pe stilul baroc. Si nu ma refer doar la piesa asta ci in opera lui Vinci sub regia lui Purcarete unde a avut o arie de cateva minute ..nu cred ca Andreas sau cel care pozeaza la bustul gol..ar fi putut sa o sustina pana la capat . Poate doar Cencic . Este un alt contratenor englez, imi scapa numele acum ..care interpreteaza sublim aria asta doar cu acompaniament de pian. Muzica , pana la urma, trebuie sa ne dea o stare si sa creeze emotie. Cam la fel este si cu marii pianisti. Pot interpreta tehnic aproape perfect..daca nu se transmite emotie este doar o proba de virtuozitate.Pacat ca Scholl are o voce frumoasa dar parca ..taia

Why do you think Fagioli fits best into the Baroque style? Where did you get it from? His singing flooded by extensive vibrato does not match the style at all. When you watch him singing, his face expressions show that to sing this way must be very tiring for him... His mouth work is so excessive... Honestly, he might be a "typical operatic singer" for female characters in Rossini, Donizetti operas but for sure not for Baroque music. To add to this, I must say that he sounds like a female along with Jaroussky (pure but very thin voice with excellent technique). Is that what castratos would sound like taking into account they were men castrated before puberty? I very doubt it. On the other side you have Andreas Scholl (much more masculine beautiful voice with moderate vibrato) and Jakub Orlinski (who did not sacrifice his masculinity at all and with very little vibrato or nearly a straight angelic voice like it is often described by most youtubers).
@@Stan-j3j It is your opinion ..If You like or dislike someone ..It is not important the mouth as usualy all the opera singer are opening their mouth in different ways ..is obviously ridiculous the discussions about somebody " mouth .or how look like .For my the most important is the result. So for me Fagioli, Jaroussky , Valter Sabadus Cencic..have special voicesc..all countertenors are good but I like some as they are ( for me ) only one who are doing better their job ..in făct IT is a matter of choise ..
@@steladumitru79 Of course it is all the matter of taste. I have never said it is different. Hence the audience can freely decide who they like and for what. For me personally, too much vibrato is something that makes me tired after a while and I do not find it stylish for Baroque music. Too much vibrato affects the quality of diction as well. I prefer the masculine colour line of countertenors.
This is a preposterous question, unless it is meant to be taken as "Which one appealed most to your senses?" Artistic interpretation is as personal as it gets, so the question is parallel to "Which person has the best nose?"

Fascinating to compare the interpretations. Jakub O is totally adorable and talented but in this instance Andreas S's bell-like resonance takes the top spot. With Philippe J we have the richest line-up of countertenors since the age of recordings began. Xx to all.

School is the purest with orlinski minutely behind - but Mehta's extreme coloration is the one that had me almost in tears and it's him emoting I'd rather see live, every time.

Even though this particular interpretation is not his finest, still Andreas Scholl has by far the best interpretation of all. Effortlessly angelical. No one else can repeat that amazingly powerful and heartfelt performance at the Glyndebourne Opera Festival in 1998. For the time. Google it, you'll agree with me, and be glad to have discovered it. Mr Mehta has the worst recording. The most beautiful voice has Andreas Scholl, and his technique of singing is fantastic.
But I must say that Jakub Orliński is most romantic in his performance. His delicate vibratos shiver every piece of my heart
