I used to run an M07, and to be honest it was probably the most fun car I have ever raced. It handled really well, and with the Factory Pro RC upgrade spur gear it was seriously quick!!
Stick with M-class. You said it's the most enjoyable and that's the entire purpose. Less serious and down to earth is always more fun. I race GT12, but if there was an M-class club, or TT-01E truck racing club, I'd be racing those!
Stay with the M chassis because you're representing the best brand out there. Plus you're showing you don't have to spend big dollars to compete and have fun. M cars are more durable so that saves money in the long run also.
I don’t disagree, but let’s remain careful: upgrading a m-chassis can get stupid expensive quickly… just the set of Tamiya TRF shocks costs nearly $100…🤑
If you can hold down 2nd or 3rd in the M with a brushed motor, I'd stick with it and get every last drop you can out of it. If you're seriously hitting a performance wall after that, then jump platforms. I'd be curious to see what a brushless motor and gearing rework does to the M. See if there's any carbon upgrades you could throw at it maybe.
uh I really love the M-chassis. will be runnin M07 this year in Tamiya cup, but I hope there will be a new M-chassis class where i can run my ABC Hobby. Want to see more of this car :D
Great work Carl. I think you did well considering the chassis and motor you had. Your lines must have been good cause Icould see you catching a few cars in the corners. Honestly, if you stick with that car, get a brushless system in it. I don't know if that will help much, but it's worth a try. Maybe a larger pinion too. I'm really preaching to the quoir here.
Nice one Carl, good to see the M07 out on track. Definitely put the CoreRC 21t in it and maybe gear it up a bit. Should be perfectly competitive against the other cars there. I'll try and get over with mine at some point too.
I thought you did a great job qualifying second with an M07 brushed setup against brushless touring cars. You drove extremely well. In my humble opinion they all should've blown your doors off. I think you should consider putting a 21.5 system in your M07 and see how it goes and then switch to the other car if you feel your lacking. I guess another consideration would be to get the carbon conversion for the M07.
Go with an support Carten , Andy Bause will support your mtc parts and national racing needs and as you say join the fun with them all , itll get you nice practise too.
Im interested in getting into this class with a Carten or Xpress, I'm a beginner though so i dont know if its the best option for me. Are they more fragile than your standard TT-01/2 beginner car? There's not much cost difference in initial outlay once youve put a bearing kit and oil shocks on the tamiya chassis. Interested to hear your thoughts, Cheers
Both great options What does your local club run in terms of classes . MTC is a quicker class so it will take longer to get up to speed and be competitive, Tamiya is a great class for learning how to drive and the basics of race craft
@@PopalongRC Thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. My local club is Milton Keynes, I went on Sunday for the first time after seeing your videos. You know it well I believe but they run Tamiyas mainly I think in the touring car classes, have MTC and GT12. Sounds like you would suggest 1/10 first to learn with and then step up when I'm more competent. Hopefully I'll get a chance to speak to you in person next time I go 👍
If you’re keeping up with the fast guys using an inferior platform that’s vindication of your superior driving skills 👍🏽 (or their lack of them 😂) I run a M07 based M platform (Yeah Racing conversion built for parts) there’s an aftermarket company called Factory Pro RC that makes an Overdrive 48P 33T spur gear for the M07 (P/N O-AP001) and they also have a 40T option that will open up some gearing options for you along with allowing you to run regular 48P pinions not sure on what gearing to start with we run 21.5T in M class
@@PopalongRC you cant loose with tamiya as always seen as a underdog anyone you beat you have won ,then its sense of achievement to taking it to the wins 😊
M-chassis Racing is by far the most fun class to drive 😃
m chassis and mtc are super fun
I used to run an M07, and to be honest it was probably the most fun car I have ever raced. It handled really well, and with the Factory Pro RC upgrade spur gear it was seriously quick!!
need to look into these factory pro parts

I race GT12, but if there was an M-class club, or TT-01E truck racing club, I'd be racing those!
Defo going back to GT12 soon
Need to try and get the Atom3 around properly
Definitely more videos like this 🙂 be interesting to see what difference going brushless will make, your speed down the back straight seemed good.
delivery of power and punch was lacking as i was geared to stick with them on the striaght
Great video. I like the pit footage of all the cars and interviews of the drivers on thier cars. Great stuff...
as always cheers blue thanks for watching
Should have done a couple of rounds with your carton with the same setup to see the comparison. Great content as ever 😁
Cheers buddy
Solid podium fella 👍👍👍and as you say smiles all round
fun was had by all
Great video more like this please. Love a good race report video. 😎🤙
glad you liked it ... we are looking at different ways of documenting club meets

Well said! it really is a great class.

Love m chassis racing too. Raced at Chippenham last sunday in the open class (core 15 turn motor) Well happy with 4th place finish in the A final .
considering the core 15
@@PopalongRC core 15t is quite fast , they do have a short life . Brushes wear out quite fast .

might look into it but like the idea of running it as it is and if i need or want to I can run the carten
Interesting to see other kinds of fronties because I race a shumacher mission ft and I don’t know much about the others
These are shorter that the FT they are MTC M-chassis 210-225 length so different to the 1/10 frontie class
uh I really love the M-chassis. will be runnin M07 this year in Tamiya cup, but I hope there will be a new M-chassis class where i can run my ABC Hobby. Want to see more of this car :D

this could work
Well done Carl, would like to get back to some m chassis racing but 1/10 rally taking up most of my spare time these days
Im going to be running rally very soon and think i might get bitten by the bug ....
More video's like this chaps, great to see you flying the Tamiya flag Carl
Cheer Lee got to love a bit of Tamiya racing.
Consistency usually wins the race, not speed.

just to make me look bad or just show me how it is done. hahaha

Can’t find the carbon conversation anywhere
I know yeah racing did one …
Nice one Carl! Enjoying m-chassis racing over here as well. What body are you running on the M07?
Sorry can’t remember what it is called
Go with an support Carten , Andy Bause will support your mtc parts and national racing needs and as you say join the fun with them all , itll get you nice practise too.
The M210f is a great car ....
I have to say, you might want to consider going brushless. It is no contest between brushed and brushless.
We will see how we get on and what to do next
What happened to the the gt12 series’s
Coming back soon it is currently having a rebuild …
Higher gear and 21.5 brushless. It is competitive against the the others.
it might work
How about a brushless system in the Tamiya
maybe
Awsome
cheers buddy

Try a tamiya ta05 m-four
Nice car that
Had one on the channel once

on small indoor tracks it is not inferior they are on a level playing field. thanks for the info on parts.
I'm looking at the concept MO7 or M08 I prefer RWD. Do you think FWD or RWD is better on an M chassis.
Tamiya M chassis Front is proven faster round a race track.
Rwd good fun and also more skills
id agreed fwd is solid platform... ive managed to do well with the RWD on occasions but definitely harder work
Id stick with brushd gear up the tourqe tune or go core ,should up ur speed ,ur on the pace as it is ,even try out the new iconic motor ,interesting
dont think the core 15 is legal heere so will stick with the core 21
Are you running the standard M05 or is it the V2? Just curious because I have the standard kit and it seems you have your car working well.
He used m07 in this video
M07 in this video not sure what M05 I will run at iconic yet
Carl stick with tamiya 😊😉👍
it will defo get another run next week.
