Just want to say I work 6 days a week, sometimes 65+ hours a week, and watching your videos gets me through my days. Much love
What an awesome comment mate.!! 👍 👍 👍
Thanks Jacob. Appreciate the support
👍🏻
I hope things get better for you, Jacob! Best wishes from Brazil!!! 🖖😊
I feel you on the work schedule, I'm at 75 hrs on day 6, and still have 8 more days left to go!
I loved the close up of Mario hanging on for dear life. Brought a big smile to my face. Thank you, I needed that!
Haha.. it was funny when he grabbed the wheel 😅
Isn't it weird that you can spend hundreds, or even thousands of pounds on an RC car, and not have as much fun as you do with some cheap little thing that you've spent a bit of time and effort on. That's was brilliant. 😎🤘🏻
Yes… and editing it I realised how exciting it was 😅
@@TomleyRC it's a good job us blokes never grow up!! 😆👍🏻
I got to laugh it's fun to watch this sort of stuff. I did something similar with my Batmobile, micro servo original motor 45amp esc + Flysky radio, goes much better now.
Noice 👌
Congratulations, Phil! This is meaningful work, and I'm very impressed.
It's very satisfying to take something from bang-bang steering and single-speed to fully proportional, and Mario's karts both deserved better.
Yes, such a nice feeling when it turns out pretty decent! It’s made me eager to do even better next time, with suspension and dirt jumps!
@@TomleyRC I'm impressed by the difference even the foams made. Obviously, suspension would be brilliant...
@@TomleyRCYes bro love Mario head bobbing side to side if only it hand proper suspension imaging 144001rc chassis Mario bobbing head on it and r.c car bodywork on it would look fantastic you may need to adapt bodywork a lot but just imagine it bro .😀 😁 👍✌️
And this is why we love your channel and congrats on the worlds fastest Mario cart, epic stuff proper rc bodging for fun
Thanks mate. I love doing these kinds builds… so fun 👌
I really love these build vids, that runs so well and looks great!
Thanks mate. They are my favourite to do, especially when they are a success 👌
This brightens my morning. I mean really, who wouldn’t like this? Enjoy! Have a great day!
Haha.. cheers dude.
The cleetus McFarland intro was legendary lol
I love these type of videos Tomley! There's nothing more fun than taking toy and completely overpowering it! And top tip for you - get an Electric Manicure set - smaller and more compact than the Dremel and less aggressive on plastics. Good for fiddly jobs like fitting that servo.
Love the Cletus "Hell Yeah Brother"
Who wouldn't want a brushless Mario Kart? Next stop Rossa?
Maybe a big version for ROSSA 👌
@@TomleyRC ooh please do it!! Id like to see one get to motorway speed limit.
I find myself having the most rc fun when I'm driving these silly versions with just a bit of upgrading. You had to go much further to get this one to work, but then you proceeded to spend 'way too long playing.' So it was absolutely worth it!! You should get a few more put together and challenge your friends to a mushroom cup!
Always well done! Keep up the great fun!!
I support this
Hahahaha hes got a turbski. Nice cleetus reference. Cool build man! Fun watch.
Did anyone else do a happy dance when he finally got the 28 MPH!?
The Cleetus reference was awesome!
The Mad Fabricator! Great build💪
Haha.. cheers dude
Mario looked so cool & realistic bobbing around in there ha ha, great fun.
That Cleetus HELL YEA BROTHER! With the turbski had me cracking up! Hell Yea Brother 👊👍
I love that they put effort into the look by having the rear wheels cambered in with actual universal joints instead of taking the cheaper way out with a solid axle.
Indoor mushroom cup challenge would be awesome to see. Small banana flinging!
What an awesome project! It looks awesome with Mario shifting around with the on board footage! Cheers
Cleetus: hell yeah brother
That's just brilliant, Phil! Fantastic work!!! 😃
For a toy car without any suspension, it turned out amazing!!! 😃
Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
so many people will be googling that car now ....a whole class of them would be epic
Love these projects. Well played sir
Cheers Chris. I love them as well… just sometimes white time consuming
@@TomleyRC well the effort isn’t lost on me. You’ve got space to creat a larger one based on a full size go kart. Could be interesting. Expensive but just an idea
Thanks for keeping RC fun. I’m 60 and my first RC was a Tamiya Grasshopper. I actually sold my blood to buy it.
Nice! I had a Madcap in 1990… I’ve been hooked since 👌
I'm 37mine was grass hopper too 😊
"High speed, Tomley edition" should be labeled on the box 😂
Haha
The cleetus sound clip had me cracking up. Bravo
SUBSCRIBED! A bit disappointed that I didn't find this channel sooner, but at least no I get to go back and watch all of your past videos! Daughter loves Mario and loved this video as well. Nothing better than that.
Thank You 🙏. I bought another one yesterday, a bit different… but this time I’m going even crazier lol
13:40 really looked like Mario was driving 😂
This was an awesome change of pace. "He's got a star" had me laughing.
Ahhh the good ol' golden mushroom brushless pickup This is how it should of came out of the box. Bravo!
You should build an old radio shack or nikko rc rig.. and a boat also.. be kinda fun..
Yes 👌
TomleyRC I still haven't fix up my shensei 57 chevy bel air yet.. to set up like your doing to these Mario cars.. I was going to do the same thing because either the car or remote doesn't work. Powers on and engine sounds on it.. but not move or turn. So I chuck the Remote in trash and kept the car on a shelf over the old fireplace that's not aloud to use by my landlord.. but car I still have in fair condition
Try it on an indoor basketball court. Super smooth. Won’t bounce round
Yes 👌
It's great to do something that's just fun. I imagine that there a re kids out there that receive one of these for a birthday or Christmas, but want more speed. You did that and had a lot of laughs. I enjoyed watching your ingenuity and just doing a project for the enjoyment and not evaluating it. I kept picturing in my head some of the TH-camrs bring their versions to a track. I am sure this video will spawn more Mario characters and upgrading them. Great video.
Can you take him to the indoor track next time you go racing and see what he looks like around the track?
Awesomeness my friend that onbourd footage at the end Is brilliant!
My brother!!,…I just did the same thing(kinda) on the exact same car and Mario!! What a good time , this is going along with my new kick in my favorite old hobby, putting updated RC gear in old models and toys. I started on a Grasshopper I picked up a yard sale, those old Tamiya buggies kick ass with modern electronics. Then my friend brought me Mario about the same time I found a 1907 Fiat Pocher model on marketplace, it had previously been RC’d with early RC ,,..remember Cox? Old stuff. I find this to be an entertaining way to use some of the piles of stuff I have laying on my bench. Cheers mate!! and have a good one!
It’s addictive for sure 👌
@@TomleyRC well for me it’s more like “recycling “ ,,..one of my other hobbies is riding my awesome Ebike (I noticed your riding one similar to mine), thing is I like riding up and down alleys. I happen to live in the shadow of Camelback mountain in Phoenix Arizona, and all I can say is, some of these people throw away all kinds of usable platforms for RC. My latest is a Barbie turquoise Cadillac SUV,,..with Austin Powers at the wheel! Yeah baby!
I love the slow mows on this channel…
I like a good slow mo…. Although nothing worse than a 3 min slow mo with about 5 seconds of action 😅
@@TomleyRC 😂😂 you still have fun in the long run tho!
duuude ur driving and filming at the same time is awesome. i would not be able to film and drive an rc car at the same time, also if you get a chance you should try one of those mario karts that connect to an app and show a little driving layout. seeing you upgrade one of those and use the app and going faster than normal would be awesome to see
Thanks you. Yes, I’ve seen the Mario game, I think it’s for the Nintendo switch…. Looks cool
Really cool watching you build it and your knowledge of the rear diff/ gearing. It’s crazy how moddable and customizable rc parts are. I didn’t know.
What’s interesting about this build too is how the weight distribution on turns changed now that Mario doesn’t lean into the turns. I’m sure he’s very light, but now he’s weight hanging off the side in turns rather than weight leaning in, making the vehicle a bit more unstable. Also him flipping loose can cause an almost frequency like change in weight making the vehicle unstable.
I really enjoy these projects. Please keep doing awesome stuff like this !
Yeah, this is the stuff Phil. Mario Kart and modding RC toys. Good job lad!
When you hit 28 mph all I could imagine was doc brown jumping up and down saying “28 mph an hour”
I love doing stuff like this to old radio shack and Nikko stuff. This is awesome Tomley
I love your “if it doesn’t fit or wanna come off, make it fit or come off” mentality while you were doing this project. 🤘🏼😂😂 This was super cool to watch, Phil. Great video and very entertaining and nostalgic.
We need to start a league of these, with weight classes and everything, think of the fun! FPV bad RC Cars, like the B-movies of horror films, i would have a blast and am goint to start converting some
Not what I was expecting to see from you this weekend Phil, but It definitely caught my interest. Quadruple speeds? How often does that happen!😂👊🏼👍🏻💯
You are a mad scientist! Great vid.
Haha
Come to see a British man modify a Mario Kart, end up hearing The Patron Saint of Twin Turbskies himself.
Well done, Phil :)
That awesome I absolutely loved it!!!!! Take it to the track and see what gav and kev think- maybe a new race track layout for the boys 💡💡💡💡💡! DO IT JUST DOOOO IT- you know you wana show them how it’s done 💪🏻😎💪🏻
Loved this vid, forever stay a kid! Bought back fond memories of modifying toys (still do just a lot bigger now lol)
Super fun video, loved the time and effort spent to make it fast and look factory! That turbo you put on it made them American bald eagles fly. Cleetus would be proud! 😂 loved the audio clip
The Mario sounds fit perfect with the video. The foam tyres seems to absorb some of the hard surface parts and the model doesn't spin back of the model. Very serious upgrade, drives much better compare to the stock setup.
Love it, great fun. Mass production now lol 😅
I’ve been hacking on the cheap RC cars from Walmart and tuning them
Up for my friends for some time. I love seeing the joy and surprise it brings my friends. So happy to see you doing this also, so fun!!
Imagine a challenge where a bunch if TH-camrs all get the same cheapo kids RC like this and they have a week to get it upgraded for a race or challenges while trying to look fully stock. Do some fan voting on looks etc. 🤔🤔🤔
Yeah, that would be cool
What fun , that has way more performance than a standard Tammie 😂😂😂
Even Mario loves it when a plan comes together! Nice work! Cheers
Let's, ah, GOOOOO, OH SHIT!
Haha
you can also heat a pinion up with the grub screw in, if for some reason you can't get the grub screw out and don't have a pinion puller
don't ask me how i know
Haha
Aww man that is so cool… I’ve got a little taiyo grabber 4wd, my very first rc, that I’d love to try this on
Lol using “Hell Yeah Brother!” From cleetus, threw me off.
This sort of nonsense is exactly what TH-cam is for 😊. Thank you for brightening a drizzly day!
Just watched this..lol..I laughed my butt off...love your channel...any shassy slappin on the Mario cart???..lol..great stuff!!
Keep hands on the wheel Mario! Pretty impressive. I’m surprised the gears held up.
The footage of the kart in action looks straight out of a Mario kart commercial
Thank you for converting mph to km/h and including it in video, it's really comfortable when you don't have to pause mid-watching, and google the conversion. 😁
This is a brilliant one, mate! Very entertaining and creative. Thanks for making it!
These mario karts are pretty awesome 👍🏼
Imagine what ppl must think see Tom a fully grown man playing with his Mario toy lol when going by
imagine what two turbos and a better ESC
And 3s….
I thought the Barbie car video couldn't be topped but this was great watching you hack and bodge your way to TH-cam gold 🏆 ... so fun to watch!! Thanks again for another fun video that I can share with my daughter.
I'm heading down to the discription to buy you a coffee 😺☕
Mario's hands wet on the wheel. Love it!
Love these conversion videos looks like so much fun👍🏻
great job Phil! and also, you didn't need to find a driver to fit this time around! i might do this upgrade to some of my nephews toy rc's that are collecting dust. cheers and see you in the next vid!
Man you are just awesome building these.I loved the Lancia delta drift car you built too. That’s my fav
For better steering use a Wire like a Link for a crawlers steering
That was a super fun watch hahaha. I have a Tyco Rebound I'm about to do that with Video coming soon ❤😎
Thanks mate. I think I had a rebound 👌
Sometimes joy comes from the most unexpected places. Nice!
Awesome project, also like the Cleetus intro nugget!
You should convince Josh and Matt to make the original larger one the next monthly mayhem
Yes 😎🤘
@15:25 .....that's the whole point, right? Nice build!
Class that. A whole new race game rc wise. Get some little Bb firing systems sorted and it’s Mario carts irl 😂
Man oh man, that looks like it’s such a blast to drive!
I wonder how it could handle running on the T.I.T.T.
Have the same Mario car for the kids - would love it if you could write in the description (with links to where to get it?) the stuff you used to convert it 🙏
Thanks for making and sharing an awesome video 🥳
Lol this reminds me of when I put a brushless on my old Bolink Digger. No suspension and hard tires gets squirrely FAST lol.
Hobbyswaps can be the most rewarding or heartbreaking 😂
Yes lol
He’s accent makes this so much mor enjoyable to watch “proper old sort of tech this”
haha.... cheers gov
I actually just did a similar conversion on the same car. It was so much fun. Love your videos and was so excited when I saw the thumbnail. Mine gets no traction as well. Where could I find some rear foam tires like you used?
Great fun!!😀😀 Dont leave it too long before another toy conversion!👍😀
So cool, love the Cleetus nod.
This is awesome Phil, I am having fun watching this!
this guy put 200cc in mario kart to a whole new level
Loved this one. Thanks for all the videos they always put a smile on my face
That's crazy fun.
😂I used to love mario cart racing on nintendo 64. Thats actually some impressive speed you got out of that thing!
Watching this made me remember when I would modify my RC cars as a kid
that is really a nice fit! i have seen worse.
sometimes these modifications don't work at all, but this one was really neat.
