Wow! Dream come true - be featured on Heir of Carthage’s channel. Thanks so much for featuring my replay! Hope you all enjoyed the joint flank attack - I think if the Nervii and Iceni players joined up their flank attack and attacked one side instead would have been more impactful.
I think I caught it out of the corner of the screen, but one the Iceni cavalry and the chariots got destroyed by precursor javelins. I couldn't tell exactly how it happened because it was happening as you swung from one flank to the other. All I could see was two MLG freemen about to chuck precursor javelins at the chariots and two heroic riders. When you came back to that side of the battle, one freemen unit and the chariots were completely dead (I think you can see the other freemen unit reinforcing the flank with the ambushers), and the two heroic riders were fighting an oathsworn but one was already jacked up pretty bad. I assume the Iceni player was busy microing elsewhere but that is probably what really hurt late game. As bad as Iceni chariots are they would have been nice to have late game (I think end screen showed 0 kills on them) and you don't want your heavy cavalry, needed for cycle charging, beat up that early. Still very cool Idea from the Iceni/Nervii team. Great try guys!
Yep, the only way they were gonna break the oathsworn was some type of projectiles to the back or cav cycle charging in the back FAST before those cheap spearman died.
Good battle. The ambush strategy was a decent idea, but ultimately, the Arverni Oathsworn was just too much to handle. That's not surprising, given how elite any type of Oathsworn is in Rome 2. Thanks for sharing this battle with us, Heir.
Enjoying your Rome 2 online battles, Heir. Sieges are good, as are your campaigns but it’s the battles, and the analysis as the battle progresses I enjoy 👍
The Nervii sought the help of Britannic tribes to break Arverni hegemony over the best farmlands but alas. However, with so many dead Oathsworn their holdings are more vulnerable than ever. Caesar looks westwards with prying eyes
Good stuff. Found out recently that Ambushers can still be deployed in Spaghetti formation, gives them an edge on the charge!

Thanks for sending the replay! It was a lot of fun.
We would have gotten away with it too if not for those oathsworn. I'm Pertinax in the video.

Sounds about right. Javelins erase cav and chariots.
