Another great video, and very well timed, was trying to figure out how to do my own frame earlier as I could not find one to suit, needless to say I gave up, but I do keep forgetting to check the guided modes. I can now have another go at it - thanks George 😊
Hi George! I use Photoshop Elements 2018 and I just bought a new 4k screen because the one I had no longer worked properly following a power outage. The text in the menus and throughout the software is very small, I'm looking for a way to make it larger. I searched on Google, in the menus Edit - Preferences - Display - UI scale factor => and I clicked on "large" 200%, but that didn't change anything. Do you know if there is a way to correct this? And a big thank you for all the work you do to show us how Photoshop Elements works!
Hi Linda, unfortunately there aren't many ways to improve the look of PSE on a large format monitor. With the change in the interface in PSE 2024 Adobe may be setting up for more options for larger screens, but to be realistic Adobe Photoshop is plagued by the same issues. The real problem is that the text in the interface is sized to look good next to the icons, and the icons are images, not text. So Adobe has 2 sets of icons, one small and one larger. When you go to the 200% you get the large set of icons. That is the first change I would recommend although the auto setting should give you the larger set for a large monitor which is why you didn't see a change. The second thing is still in Preferences, Click on Type and set the font preview size to Huge. This makes the text in the font list readable when changing the typeface. The third thing is to go to the Layers panel and right click in an empty part of the panel, then choose Large Thumbnails.
@@lindamartel6744 Save for Web should still be working the same. I personally prefer to resize my images first, using Image Resize in the Image menu, you get a better result with that tool. Then saving out to whatever format I need as a second step.
