When I was 5 and started riding behind my house my dad kinda guided me around and gave me an idea of where to ride. By the time I was 8, I had made a few changes but had a whole track laid out. Started building up jumps and big berms with the quads. By 13 track had almost the same layout but got built up a lot and was a full-on pit bike track.

when my kid was 5, the neighbors all had beautiful manicured lawns. i made our yard into a sick 50 track. would have his racing buddies over- it was by far the envy of all the neighborhood kids. all the neighbors (except for one of course), never complained about it.

When I was young we got a dump truck of mulch and I hand shoveled a track out of it. It was pretty sweet because it got really rough and rutted yet you could eat 💩 and not get hurt. Plus all the shoveling was a good work out in itself.

iv built my nephews a decnt 5 corner turn track. has room to expand but every kid, dirt bike, four wheeler, pit bike. bicycle and sxs on my rd has been here at one point or another.. its a great idea... keeps the kids entertained while here, they usually want to come here when they are not. they truly enjoy riding with their friends and have no reason to leave or go out and cause trouble.. and gets them off xbox my oldest nephew 11 wouldnt even sit on a bike or wheeler til i started this track. this year he was at my house for every sx and mx race this season and on the track before 1 and after 450-2

You might’ve addressed this at the end but the other selling point from my parents point of you is that it will keep him busy and out of trouble! Great advice on just starting with the turn track!

Last winter my sons was still on his PW50 and here in Finland we had 1 meter of snow. I took a showel and started digging. Made a oval track on the snow. Took like 6 hours. My kids loved it and rode like 30-60mins almost every day until the snow melt. My kid advanced so much, that we bought him a bigger bike. The track was like 10 seconds a lap with the PW and was really hard to ride because ice and snow. My kids balance got so much better because of that! Home track is doable even on a small yard. (Ours is REALLY small) ps. Check my youtube-channel if you want to see the track! 😆

100% truth... the age window is small. My daughter was getting to be pretty darn good off road. She ride basically any terrain. Once she hit high school. No desire to ride anymore. My boy enjoyed riding but has tunnel vision on football and doesn't want to risk injury riding a bike and miss out on football. season.

Dirt is free always some one want to get rid of it.
Expansive part is building the jumps...
That takes machines loaders ,bobcat ,excavator I was lucky that my dad owned these growing up.

If the kid has a dirt bike. Then the parents bought it. Wherever they go riding. Is unknown. Tell your parents our backyard is completely known which makes it safer because you don't have to worry about a hole in the ground or a rider coming the opposite direction. Or just random sketchy stuff. Your backyard you know everything. Very good investment. I have had my own track for 15 years as an adult. Nothing sketchy here

Window doesn’t have to be small to ride with kids. Build a relationship with them where they want to ride with you.

The turn track makes a difference. I cut one in my backyard shaped more like a 🥜. The area is very off-camber and it literally is just one long rut that continues to get gnarlier. I ride it every chance I get, and when I went to a friend's private track recently, I felt so much connection to the bike that I didn't have in years past. I was aware of everything that was happening with the bike. Always acting, never reacting @themotoacadamy @ajcatanzaro
