Guys, thanks for your feedback. I have already mentioned in the description that some headphones DO come with white cable soon after video was posted. People keep pointing it out so u figured it would be easier to just add the comment also. SOME AUTHENTIC HEADPHONES DO COME WITH WHITE CABLE. Thanks for watching!

The best way to avoid fake products is to buy directly from the producers, for my i just go to apple store if i’m getting an apple product, or i buy from their official website. I do the same for most things i buy. Another way is to check which stores are associated with the company and buy from them. I was trying to get a pair of Adidas and they didn’t have it on the adidas website, and i checked the stores that carried the same product and i saw several stores from their website that helped me make the right choice and buy from the right source. I noticed when you laid them both down together that the Beats brand was upside down on the counterfeit headphone, unless you had laid them down in a different orientation from left/right ear or vice versa.
All the "special edition" colors like rose gold, silver, gold, and violet come with white cables
Red, Black(s), come with black cables you can even check online just pick a color of beats and scroll through the pictures and on some of the colors will have black cables and others will have white cables so don't think those are fake because of the white cable

I got the real ones, worth the damn price. They last for years and the noise cancellation plus comfy on the ears while wearing glasses is a huge plus
I bought these fake beats for my daughter. She came to me and showed me that a small part of the rose gold went away with protection foil. We became suspicious and came to your video. Now we have no doubts that I bought fake ones. BTW I got them on Amazon 2020. I must say I wouldn't have noticed it, if the paint didn't come off. On the first sight they look pretty legit. Only with your Video and the comparing with my original Beats we war able to identify them as fake.
Maybe I can give you two other tips to make sure you might have fake ones. My original Beats weight 214 grams the fake ones 201 grams. Also the fake ones have a smell that the legit ones don't have.

Honestly the 100% way to make sure you don’t get fake ones is to buy from a store like Best Buy or target.
I got beats, but around the B there’s 4 buttons one to pause,resume,fast forwards, and backwards. Are these fakes? (The box says special edition black)
So it’s been a year since this video. Do the fakes now have the chip? I ask because I bought a pair off eBay and I assumed they are real because they pair right up to my iPhone upon turning on them on. However the on/off button is not a simple touch to turn on. It requires some force or using your fingernail to turn on.

JUst went to this video cause I thought I got some real beats from ebay and when the V1 chip feature didnt show the beats on my iphone, I knew they were fake instantly. Thank you for informing me, I'll use all the details I learned to try and get a refund
I bought my beats in rose gold from the Apple Store and the SN on the inside of the right is silver etched, they connected right away and the buttons easy to push though so I think that is another area where your video might be wrong because I do not see Apple selling me a fake.

@respinoza89 thanks for your video! This will help me spot the fake ones for sure now! I have a good keen eye for things like this. The fake ones are also thicker from the ear piece as a whole. The dimensions of them are horribly off. Also, I’ll see if I can explain it but here we go: the portion in-between the power and the cushion, where it kind of swivels, the rubber piece does not match the holes of those the real ones. Man that’s just insane that there are people out there this.

I got my Solo 3 headphones from Apple. When I first got my headphones, I remember having trouble linking them with my iphone too. They did better with my Mac, but after Apple sent an update the headphones connected easily. I noticed some resistance with pressing the power button, but that was better after I got use to using them, and the click is barely audible.
Also the w1 chip only automatically discovers only on iphones so on android you have to go to bluetooth and discover it
My headphone's extending thing was gold so it was silver is it still fake?

Maybe the “authentic” pair you have is fake if you think they are supposed to come with a black remote/talk cable and if you think the serial number is supposed to be in a gold color I’ve had two pairs of beats solo’s previous to the rose golds I just bought for retail yesterday and they all have the whiteish-silver serial numbers. Try seeing if your serial numbers match up to the box you have I’ll be surprised if they do.

It seems all these videos talking about differences in real and fake beats are bologna. Most are some guy trying to compare quality and failing miserably. Best way to check is w1 chip. Everything else can be faked easily. Done.
I got mines from Bestbuy and it was the ones with a white cable does this mean I can get at Best Buy for selling me fake beats or u made a mistake by saying that
the cable colour probably is matching the colour of the headphones.... i got mine in store and it has white cable as well and the beats are gold colour, so sounds like it just matches the colour of heqadphones same as the logo on the case matches the colour as well

Excellent video. I just bought (knowingly) a fake pair and everything you said was bang on. And mine came without the case and a red cable lol! For $35 and to use only when walking the dog, it's fine.

I sent my mine back because of this video...I got them on ebay....$160. Easy return, thank God. Picked up the real one from Walmart....$219. Worth it! Thanks again on a great post!

My solo 3 has a android charger port , says beats, are white, and have FM radio. Are mine fake
The aux input and the power button are on the same ear cup. But the fake ones have the USB c and the power on the same ear cup
I noticed in your video, that the input jacks or charging ports are different colors

2:26 Apple does have the authority/decision to change the colour of the wires, and to change what comes with them. Just because you got one product, doesn't guarantee another will be the same

Any kind of gold headsets come with white cable
Look at the aux input vs the real aux input. Also the head cushion was definitely thicker than those of the real ones. Also listen for the quality of the hinge extension. The real ones have a solid crisp clicks vs the fake ones. Sounds almost too smooth. The plastic/aluminum or whatever the plastics are made out of but the material is also not as great of quality of those the real ones. What I mean by that is that the material sounds almost too light and too fragile.
for the Aux input orientation is correct just rotate it gives you the same orientation..try it out for yourself
Anybody know what colour the serial number should be on the matte black solo 3s? i got them from a third party and it connects with the w1 chip, battery life is as advertised, sound quality seems legit but the bluetooth range is shit and i cant register them on the beats website
Dylan Chua -- I've heard that fake ones can sound good; however, if you can't connect them to the Beats website, I'd consider that a huge red flag.

Best way to know is to call apple support and give them the serial no. on the box. The Gold one comes with white wires btw. Oh and I know mines are authentic becaude I returned it to Apple for repairs.

I got the same box I got my beats on eBay for $146.00 and it came with that same box but the weird thing is in Bluetooth it says Beats solo 3 another thing is the buttons have a long delay to do something like pause or with the volume and the serial numbers look gold to
Kolby Brian2412 that's interesting... it should say "yourname's Beats Solo3" and the 3 is smaller. When I pause my music it takes about a second to actually pause and volume should be around the same. Basically if it connects using the W1 chip by placing your phone next to it then that should tell you it's authentic. I have yet to hear of any knockoff using that chip yet.

Mate same thing happend with me from eBay and will never buy anything online again this is mis sold policy and cheating on with customers it’s Bcz u already said I have already used beats before that’s why spotted straight away else u can’t make difference and one thing with the fake one’s is that original beats the sound doesn’t come outside of the headphones as compare to fake ones this was the biggest thing I spotted thanks for. I bought some off Offer Up for $130. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure they're fake. The b on the side is supposed to be a little shiny, right? Well the b's on mine are just dull and matches the rest of the side. And the button to turn them on is a little difficult to press, just like the guy in this video pointed out. I had no trouble connecting it to my phone though. I use Android, and to connect them I just had to turn the bluetooth on my phone, and sync them with the headphones, no problem.
The sound quality is pretty good too though. Good bass as well, as long as the volume is turned up near max. So I don't know, I hope they're not fake, but there are signs.

Im considering purchasing mine from Best Buy. I called Apple and they verified that Best Buy is an authorized retailer. Id imagine the white cord is still authentic as the padding is white. I dont think id trust Amazon even with their A to Z guarantee.
