When connecting to your iphone it says “not your aipods pro 2” in some reviewers they said that it is fake when that word pop up, it should be “airpods pro” only
If the orange LED on your AirPods Pro 2 case doesn't light up when you tap on it, try this: First, tap once on the right side of the case (somewhere between the LED and the right edge of the case), and then quickly tap again, this time on the left side of the case (between the LED and the left edge of the case). Make sure to press a little bit harder when you tap, don't just touch the case. Tapping directly on the LED doesn't light it up for me - I tried multiple times on my Pro 2 2023 model. But these right/left taps always make it light up for 2-3 seconds. The tap sequence is important: it works with a right tap followed by a left tap, but not the other way around. Hope this helps!
one very easy and quick way to tell is if you go to the "headphone accommodation" settings and custom transparency. If you can't change it, you have a clone.
i get a message saying only Apple and Beats can be customised.. everything else works so well, including the tapping on the case, adaptive mode, ANC mode, and “Find my” with correct location and sound coming from the case. If these are fake they are INCREDIBLY good fakes..EDIT: airpods need to be out of case for this screen to work. Mine seem to work fine with heaphone accommodations

I think you need to add the purchase date on Apple’s website. On the Apple serial number lookup website. I bought Apple care for my AirPods Pro 1, but I have not bought it for my AirPods 3 or AirPods Pro 2. I don’t think it’s worth it if you take care of your earbuds. You will only notice the battery degradation that starts after around 2 years of usage. So this passes the Apple care date. I’m not sure if you’re able to extend the Apple care to more than 2 years. I think you can only can the battery replaced if it’s 80% or under

Lots of great tips! You didn't show the charger port--my fake ones had a lightening cable rather than a USB-C, it was the most obvious sign they were fakes.

Bought yesterday from Amazon and everything makes me think it’s original (the case, the interactions, the sound ecc) BUT the lightning led when charging. It does go off after I insert the charging cable, but when I tap on it does nothing. Is it really authentic ?
Issue resolved! Turns out, I had been using the wrong charger all along. Instead of the appropriate one, I was using my old Samsung USB-C charger, which only powered up the AirPods themselves, neglecting to charge the case. It seems it lacked the necessary power. I've since switched to the charger from my PC, which boasts far more strength, and now everything is functioning perfectly.
So many replicas out there it’s crazy… my biggest thing would be noise cancellation and sound quality. It’s a dead giveaway if you ever had authentic ones

@@Tradengineer just charge them. Plug them and keep them close to your iPhone. They will randomly update. You can't manually force them to update. Have you tried tapping on the case when charging?
I had a feeling mine were fake. Paid $80 on eBay for a Gen 2 Air Pod pro. Only had a gen 1 to compare. But the “newer” ones, I can’t do voice calls. If I take them out when someone calls it automatically hangs up on them. And the audio awareness mode is not accessible now that I checked after watching this. People suck.

You should check if iCloud works. You can also test Adaptive Audio and Conversation awareness. Check if all 3 unique serial numbers match in the Bluetooth settings. Do the tap test when charging them.
Lightning or USB C? Did you try the charging method. Trying to tap on the case when charging. You can verify if iCloud Sync works if you have multiple Apple devices
The font on the back of my case is way too big, the case says made in Vietnam and the AirPods say made in china, and no serial numbers match up. Are you certain that these are fake? I bought them off of amazon!
@@CaleCarlson The serial numbers of the left, right earbuds, and inside the lid or the charging case are supposed to be all different. They should also match the ones shown in your Bluetooth settings. I haven’t really seen a case from Vietnam and earbuds from China. Unless maybe if they were refurbished?

Only a few can be updated. Though, the updates of the clones don’t update the same way as the originals. They don’t automatically update when you charge them and they don’t have updates as often as Apple.
For the sound quality, it would a bit hard to differentiate if you've never tried a real one and held a real one in your hand. In those case, some would not pay attention
Some great information here. None of the clones have real iCloud sync/hand off but some can connect simultaneously to multiple devices via Bluetooth. Is that a maximum of 2 items? My current ones only connect to one at a time. Do I need real ones to go from iPhone to iPad to Apple Watch seamlessly? I’d also say that buying second hand AirPods is very risky and probably not very hygienic. If you want cheap ones go straight for a good quality clone. Mine sound really good and ANC is excellent. It’s just the issue above that’s a bit of a bummer. If I get real ones I’ll spend the proper money and get them from Apple for peace of mind!
Some clones can switch in between up to 2 devices (iPhone or iPad). It can’t really switch to Apple Watch. As it’s not tested and optimized for the watch.

You contradict yourself like 20 times in the video, you said no clones have conversation awareness or adaptive audio, but then say once plugged in the light will fade away. I have a pair right here that have both feature but the light stays on as it charges
The features are shown on your phone. But it doesn’t mean that it works. I haven’t seen a clones that have both adaptive audio and conversation awareness working. On the originals, the LED will fade away after a few seconds when plugged in charging. Most clones will not fade away.
They’re both good. V5.2 TB has a bit better ANC and Transparency mode. Though, v5.2 H2S Ultra has a perfect matte hinge. It also has conversation awareness (it worked from my testing)
I already did a video on the V2 TB. It’s the same thing. As for the metal V2 TB, it’s the same as the plastic ones in terms of specifications. Only difference is the raw material used for the ear cups.

It is possible to tell. The whole point of the video was to help identifying one. One of the easiest way to identify an authentic one is by charging them and then tap on the case. This is useful if you plan on buying second hand in-person.

The Originals come in Lightning and USB-C. They were originally released in lightning, and they then released in USB-C in 2023.

Watching on my fake airpods pro 2
Am using 13 pro max and i bought apple aipod pro gen 2. The problem is it is not showing adptive features. Ios17.3 version in my phone. That means i was scamed?
Make sure that the AirPods are updated to latest firmware

@@Tradengineer just charge them. Plug them and keep them close to your iPhone. They will randomly update. You can't manually force them to update. Have you tried tapping on the case when charging?
I had a feeling mine were fake. Paid $80 on eBay for a Gen 2 Air Pod pro. Only had a gen 1 to compare. But the “newer” ones, I can’t do voice calls. If I take them out when someone calls it automatically hangs up on them. And the audio awareness mode is not accessible now that I checked after watching this. People suck.
I have ordered them. Tomorrow it will be delivered and its an Open box delivery. So if i verify the serial number in apples warranty coverage site. can i conclude that its original or fake ?
You should check if iCloud works. You can also test Adaptive Audio and Conversation awareness. Check if all 3 unique serial numbers match in the Bluetooth settings. Do the tap test when charging them.

best way i found to tell them apart is through the apple logo on the side. the real ones are sharp
If someone gonna buy them a second hand is practically impossible.
That ruins a reselling them.

Lightning or USB C? Did you try the charging method. Trying to tap on the case when charging. You can verify if iCloud Sync works if you have multiple Apple devices

The font on the back of my case is way too big, the case says made in Vietnam and the AirPods say made in china, and no serial numbers match up. Are you certain that these are fake? I bought them off of amazon!
@@CaleCarlson The serial numbers of the left, right earbuds, and inside the lid or the charging case are supposed to be all different. They should also match the ones shown in your Bluetooth settings. I haven’t really seen a case from Vietnam and earbuds from China. Unless maybe if they were refurbished?
@@idiscovertech they were refurbished, but there were a couple other tell tale signs too. The font on the case was too big, and also the serial numbers don’t match what they say in settings

Apple tech support confirm that serial is ok and i have still guaranty but same serial nmb on left and right headphones so i bought fake one / cant update firmware

Idc about if they’re knock offs if they look the same, sound the same, have all the same settings who cares. I bought an identical ripoff and everything is the same only it was sold in a non apple packaging in a gas station and it was 25 bucks. For 175 dollars cheaper I can live with it not being made by apple if everything else is pretty much the same

It will, but the features and locating is very limited. The precision finding to locate the charging case won't work.

Only a few can be updated. Though, the updates of the clones don’t update the same way as the originals. They don’t automatically update when you charge them and they don’t have updates as often as Apple.

For the sound quality, it would a bit hard to differentiate if you've never tried a real one and held a real one in your hand. In those case, some would not pay attention

It works on some clones, but may not work properly or always work.
Some great information here. None of the clones have real iCloud sync/hand off but some can connect simultaneously to multiple devices via Bluetooth. Is that a maximum of 2 items? My current ones only connect to one at a time. Do I need real ones to go from iPhone to iPad to Apple Watch seamlessly?
I’d also say that buying second hand AirPods is very risky and probably not very hygienic. If you want cheap ones go straight for a good quality clone. Mine sound really good and ANC is excellent. It’s just the issue above that’s a bit of a bummer. If I get real ones I’ll spend the proper money and get them from Apple for peace of mind!
Some clones can switch in between up to 2 devices (iPhone or iPad). It can’t really switch to Apple Watch. As it’s not tested and optimized for the watch.
V5.2TB has FIND MY..., It can connect simultaneously to 2 devices at least. I forgot to mention that they have ADAPTIVE ANC AND CONVERSATION AWARENESS

I asked Apple support today and they said it’s the expected behavior of usb c gen 2 air pods pro: with the exact reply as below: Yes its a expected behaviour in new AirPods Pro (2nd generation, USB-C) light keeps stay on when you plug-in for charge.

yes. Some clones may also turn off after a few seconds (but only a very few of them)

You contradict yourself like 20 times in the video, you said no clones have conversation awareness or adaptive audio, but then say once plugged in the light will fade away. I have a pair right here that have both feature but the light stays on as it charges
The features are shown on your phone. But it doesn’t mean that it works. I haven’t seen a clones that have both adaptive audio and conversation awareness working.
On the originals, the LED will fade away after a few seconds when plugged in charging. Most clones will not fade away.
Is the 5.2 H2S ultra better than the 5.2 TB
tb is the best
They’re both good. V5.2 TB has a bit better ANC and Transparency mode. Though, v5.2 H2S Ultra has a perfect matte hinge. It also has conversation awareness (it worked from my testing)

Yes, but the updates released for clones are not identical to the originals. Additionally, not all clones can be updated. Only a few version can be updated.

It is possible to tell. The whole point of the video was to help identifying one. One of the easiest way to identify an authentic one is by charging them and then tap on the case. This is useful if you plan on buying second hand in-person.

@@idiscovertech But I don’t see many people being able to stand at checkout or even customer service at Walmart, target or Best Buy running all of these tests before leaving the store. Plus it’s so subtle that you will then need to win your argument with the store which may be an uphill battle.
