With GIS maps of the whole city used by all deptts of the local govt, siting of street furniture like these transformers on the side of the road can be put properly virtually on the computer first. The designing can be made better virtually too. Then implemented on the ground. A single window grievance redressal will help the citizenry become the eyes and ears on the road too

We are responsible for teaching our kids the right civic values so they follow as good citizens. Instead its sad to see what each of us are teaching them when we show bad roads, bad traffic conditions, filth everywhere, unsafe sidewalks, dirty unpainted buildings, walls covered in pan stains and urine, beyond imaginable horrible smells near public bathrooms, a mess of hanging electric cables, broken roads with huge potholes, unfollowed traffic rules, incessant and unnecessary noise pollution whether it's honking, loud weddings or festivals, dirt-logged water bodies, open drains, open defecation, these are just a few to mention. Even the most treasured places like museums, public buildings and community centers are not spared:(. How can the government control such a large population?
We as a community need to bring change within ourselves to feel a sense of pride living in India. "BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE". Stop waiting for Kiran Bedi to rescue us. Let's pick up the brooms ourselves and make our country beautiful again.

Wish there is also a solution for all the unnecessary honking. Fine people who honk unnecessarily. Also all over the road electric cables can be unsightly and a terrible hazard due to broken wires. They need to be made underground. Sidewalks are beyond horrible. Cannot even go one mile with baby in a stroller without hitting obstructions 20,000 times
