    Thanks! Same issue with my Craftsman mower. I guess those sleeves are actually part of the wheel. I had to hammer mine off and the sleeves stayed on. thanks to your video, I realized those sleeves are supposed to turn!

      Yep, I found that out too about the sleeves. Thanks for watching!

      I’ve used jb weld when I put it back in the plastic wheel

    Suggestion: find one of those battery terminal brushes and use it to clean the wheel axles.

    That’s the wheel sleeve. Happens a lot on front and rear drive on Husqvarna. At least they use a sleeve and not just plastic. Good video

      Yes, I found out that it was a metal sleeve that came with the wheel. It wouldn't normally come out. It's been good since this fix. Thanks for watching.

    I’ve found that when this happens I release the AWD levers and then push the mower forward. This seems to release the front wheels and then I can pull it backward without a problem. That’s my work around but I will investigate the sleeve issue after watching this.

      I know what you mean about releasing the front wheels. It happens sometimes while pulling back during mowing. However, this was definitely a rust issue. Thanks for watching.

    Uze axle grease instead of spray. Works better and lasts longer.

    Husqvarna quality has really gone down hill over the last few years, but it isn't reflected in the price for these things, they still manage to charge top dollar for them. And front wheel drive is a stupid idea on a lawnmower, when you have the bag on and it starts to fill up all the weight transfers, and the front wheels lose traction. Good fix though, well done.

    I have similar problem but mine is rear drive, I did the same cleaned it all up works great until it start it. The self propel will not completely disengage making it tough to pull back. Any thoughts ??

    Those sleeves were really frozen.
    On Honda mower HRR216, both ends of the drive shaft have a half round key forced up by a small spring that catches the small gear driving the wheels. When pulling backwards the gear compresses the key and spring allowing the wheels to freewheel. I had one where dirt got packed into the spring and keyway preventing compression and locking the drive wheels on backward pulls. Disassemble and clean and try not to lose those darn little springs!

      I have had to repair that style. I think that when you order those parts, you may need to know left side vs right side. Maybe I'll make a video! Hey, thanks for watching.

    Hi ,I recently had the drive belt replaced,but the other day the front wheel split from the inside plastic wheel , the self propelled stopped working, the gear has no resistance,could that be A wheel problem, I’m sure the previous repairman will charge for evaluating the problem. Thanks

      Could be as simple as replacing the wheel assembly.

    Hi, thanks for the video. I have a Husqvarna LC221Ah push lawnmower with cracked rear wheel. I could not find a oem replacement so I purchased a universal wheel from HD. Before I attempt to put it on, can you let me know if universal wheels work on self propelled awd lawnmowers. If so, do I need to make some modifications such as removing some parts? Thanks again.

    • @RealManSkills
      @RealManSkills  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have only used universal wheels for NON-self propelled units. I can't say if a universal can be modified. I have never tried. Thanks for watching.

    Have you any advice on getting mine to run uphill , ok level ground it's fine but on a sloping small hill it just doesn't drive up , I end up pushing the mower.
    Tryed a new belt and wheels and still the same problem .
    Any advice welcome

      The cable that runs from the handle to the drive unit may need to be tightened up. Where the top of the cable housing is pinched in place, there should be a bolt and nut pinching it. Loosen that nut, slide the cable up or down accordingly. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching.

    I haven't tried this. The problem I'm having is, the wheels turn very slow when you press the handle in. I thought it was the belt, but it's still doing the same thing. Any advice?

    • @RealManSkills
      @RealManSkills  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Can't say for sure. Start taking the drive wheels apart one at a time (pay close attention to how it comes apart) and look for any issues. Hope you figure it out. Thanks for watching.

    Take a 6 inch 1/4 bolt and spit the end 3/4 inch and cut of bolt head
    Rape it with emery cloth and use drill to remove rust in wheels
