Agreed that 39 st is a beast ! I run mine in the Caribean sea conditions and after 10
Years my boat is still the badest machine around. This boat is solid as brick.

The money that some people have is staggering. Beautiful boat/fishing machine.

Impressive that a 39’ boat can hit 70+ mph!
Amazing that bow never raises it’s nose at all.
Obviously out of reach for most of us but it would make those Montauk / Block fluke trips in record time!
    More fishing 🎣 time! 🙂
Another fun boat ride along. Thanks for taking us along!

Stepped hull contenders amazing. Feels like your on a hover craft

That is really really impressive for a 39’ boat. This is why contender is competition winning year after year. I wanna see George run that big girl in 4-5’ seas and see how she performs. That’s when she gona really show her stuff comparatively

The acceleration is staggering, the fuel burn is too. Wow.

This is the same guy from the Bertram video that said, "She cruses at 25 knots, and I think that's all you really need". LOL 71MPH later he's looking for 75. LOL That Contender is an absolute cherry!!!

I was wondering this question - v10's on the Contender 39 . Thanks 👍 didn't think I'd find anything being Yam is on most Contenders . Best of Luck to the Capt !

That is very impressive for that size of boat. The fuel alone is almost 3000LB!

All the New Mercs are awesome

That’s quite a package-I would twitch just filling the fuel tanks on that😆

Beautiful boat, and Bertram even better! One of those mercs more than skinners entire rig. Skinner will still outfish all of us .....
Hear those mercs lower units don't last, but sure many will disagree

so I guess the take away is that the older 350 Yamahas did approx. the same speed ??

A little better with the V10s but not crazily faster. Torque and time to plane noticeably better though

Fantastic boat but I would have kept the Yamaha engines on the back. Not a fan of Merc's. Plus, why would anyone want to go that fast on the water? Obviously, sea conditions dictate how fast the boat can travel over the water anyway. That boat with those engines has got to cost big bucks! At least you got out for a ride John! 👍👍

Probably because the yamaha 350 is one of the worst motors ever made. He would probably have to go to quad 300s. Better off with the mercs.

The mercs are more fuel economic at all speeds apart from wide open. Just as reliable and less expensive than Yamahas 😊

Based on RPMs, it seems like there's less resistance on the center engine so it's revs higher than the outer engines?

    • @jiggingjerks

Not sure to be honest. I think (stress think) the computers figure all that out

The center prop should be 2” taller or have more cup than the outside props. It’s just hard to get props for the V10s right now.

Just a side note on that "quiet" mode....if you want it quiet hop in a canoe or kayak........wtf do you need a quiet mode for 1500 hp? Just fucking saying.

Sorry I don’t approve that recklessness, I almost got killed by someone in that very area this spring. Nice video though.

I’m with you on driving like that during peak periods but this was very early and bay was almost empty

Who cares to go 73 miles an hour? You never doing that in the ocean if you like your friends or family.

    • @jiggingjerks
      @jiggingjerks  ปีที่แล้ว

Agree but it’s fun in a sheltered bay to just open it up and go nuts for a minute

having the power to do so is what you want. allows cruising at lower rpms and its a rocket out of the hole
