The Senator is accomplished pilot himself. Fixed and rotary wing instructor and graduate of the Empire Test Pilots Course……

This hearing is not up to date, Chipman is no longer CAF, he is now VCDF. Campbell is no longer CDF, he is now retired. If you’re going to post this stuff please make sure it’s timely and not out of date?

Agreed, more recent presentations would be more desirable over historical presentations IMO.

having to borrow/beg for jet fuel & limit flight hours to the bare minimum, you're in big trouble !

One thing that has been shown in the middle east, if you want to achieve a successful military outcome, you need a strong and well trained air force.

The biggest impediment to the readiness of RAAF aircraft and pilots is generally the politicians, government funding and their policies.

Another big problem is there’s far too many senior officers now. Is something isn’t working you start another dept and promote another officer to run it

Did anyone ask if the same or similar heads up display from the whitsunday helicopter crash was or is in use on any other defence helicopters?

Our military leadership is significantly underwhelming, they look and sound like low level public servants and want to be politicians

Good questions Dave. Keep holding these Army “leaders” feet to the fire - they are just ducking and weaving responsibility for the culture underpinning the Taipan accident and also the appalling decision to withdraw these aircraft 10 years early.

Totally amused by the so called "Army Leaders" and their medal ribbons, seems undoubtedly medals by appointment!

I have no idea about the specifics of what is going on here. This kind of adversarial conversation between the forces and the politicians seems healthy though.

Australia doesn't have sea carrier projection. Why are we training air assets if we don't have the capability? Lets focus on long range drones and our current reach? It sounds like Australia is trying to overstate our capabilities.

If these so-called leaders of the ADF, cannot answer questions CLEARLY, CONSCISOULY, with COMPLETE information they SHOULD NOT be in the positions that they hold.

I myself as a multi engine instrument rated pilot with 40 years experience, I would think that pilots of complex military aircraft would at least need 4 hours of airtime per week all year around to be reasonably proficient at best 8 hours per week to be very capable , you cant fly 2 hours per month and expect pilots to be efficient

We dont need pilots, we need drone operators drones are cheaper than fighters.
