Thanks for another lovely and informative video! Bless you for giving Milo a loving home and for your patience. Im sure you will be grateful to have him in your life!
Thanks, Wendy. I really enjoyed that update. I love seeing your location, learning about how to improvise, and how to flow with what's happening at location. Enjoy seeing how Milo is doing, what a good dog! Thanks again.
Ingenious use of your new twig stove - I call that a success. Good idea re the instant oatmeal, too; thanks for sharing. Perfect mini break. Have a great week, Wendy.
Wonderful. Thank you for the vid. Like you've said, Dutch Oven on coals with coals on the top is a good way to bake bread. Many people do it. I always hike to my locations, so I never tried it myself. You can also use stove from your hot tent in a similar fashion. It worked for me. I also baked simple flat breads directly on coals and it tastes really good. Finally bread on a stick over camfire is popular bushcraft technique. Be well.
Yum apple crisp looked great! Love seeing how this little oven set up worked. Bless you for taking on Milo. So sweet and I know its hard work to help a dog with challenges so thank you for doing that. It warms my heart and I can’t wait to see how Milo progresses in his training. Thanks Wendy! Fun watching as always. ❤
Thanks for the very versatile video! Camping, cooking and baking, hiking and some dog training. All with beautiful scenery. Think you found the best place to be on Black Friday 😂
Apple crisp while over a campfire equals all l the comforts of home! You are so inventive Wendy. It's good you had Milo for company as well. Until the next trip, take care.
Really enjoy watching your adventures and think you are a really good inspiration to many. If you are planning or interrested in cooking different ways on your bushbox you might want to check out firebox stoves site on youtube and see the many ways he cooks with his stoves (really similar to your style). On his merchandise site he has all kinds of cooking gadgets and pots he uses. Even a rotisserie setup. In this episode you are doing something that might really have interrested you is his mini cast iron square 5 way setup. You would've been able to crisp top as you did bottem easily. Just a suggestion. Really enjoy watching all your adventures.
I'm so glad you got out for a whole 2 nights! Milo is so beautiful! We always bring some sort of mat for our digs to lie on thar can be cleaned easily. It helps them settle to know that they have a designated spot that is theirs to lie on, and it keeps them cleaner than lying in the dirt. He is doing so well! They say it takes at least 4 months before a dog really knows he is there to stay. I have found it can take up to a year for some shelter dogs. Thank you for adopting him. The crate will help him at home. One of my digs lives his crate. It is his safe place and he goes in there when he is frightened, like with fireworks.
What a resourceful way to make apple crumble, I must try this! Thank you so much for sharing your tips and tasty recipes. And well done Milo, you'll get there lad!
Love your camper but mainly I love Milo! I have a new-ish rescue dog who, like Milo, has some issues. Hired a trainer to help us with an e-collar and it's really working well. First time I felt I needed to go this route (have had 6 rescue Labs). Next step is taking her camping with my small RV. Hoping she feels safe and happy, and hoping I feel the same! Cheers to you!
Hi Wendy, enjoyed your video as always. I am inspired to try my twig stove out on a good day in the cooler season, now that there is less drought and wildfires have died down. We finally got some much needed rain. Its good to see you out with Milo. Bless you all for getting through the challenges and trying different things. Your video update on Milo helps me with my own challenges with my newly adopted 2 yr old pet who came from a special situation. Your an inspiration to me and I always look forward to a new video of any content from you. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
So nice to see you & Milo ! Ohh how I do love an Autumn campfire. My rescue dog did not like camping in the beginning. But after about the third trip, I put out an old small Rug for her to sit on, by the Campfire…..and she loved it ! Now she understands what we are doing. Especially when she watches me get out her “Camping Rug”. 😊🐾
Oatmeal, apples! I add a touch of cinnamon to my oatmeal … I don’t remember if you added or not. Always enjoy your videos! Glad Milo is adjusting. Training is a slow process, but worth the effort!! beautiful scenery, and beautiful music. Thank you for your video Wendy have a blessed rest of your camp time!
Good to see you and Milo, hoping you and Bob faired well during that atmospheric river that went through. I've seen bread baked using both the Dutch oven and one of those reflector ovens. Both were used with a fire rather than a stove box. I think, though, that if you had a flat surface over that pot, you could put coals on top or perhaps burying it within the coals. I'm just not sure about an even temperature, maybe double up the pot like a double boiler then bury it in the fire...? but these are fun experiments. 😅 I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with 😊
Oh and maybe if you want to make some kind of a bread you use some kind of a small Dutch oven and then you put the coals on top and then that makes the bread 🍞😊
Well, hello, Wendy! Fancy meeting you here ! 😂 Beautiful video as usual. We had no snow in Barrie this am, but my daughter in Muskoka has 4 feet of it. Good to see Milo . The past few hours, we have had a few inches .Certainly more than we had this morning. Your apple dessert looks delicious. I just took bread out of the oven. Milo hopefully will continue to make improvements . The more he tries ,hopefully he'll get better. ❤
I am really enjoying watching your videos. I am starting to camp more often. I have always enjoyed camping and hiking but for to many years I put work first. Now I’m trying to change that.
Wendy, Wendy so happy to see you and Milo and the little adventure. I'm thinking that apple dessert looked tasty, and your thought for the oven was awesome.milo doesn't pull when you walk, so that's a plus. I hope the kennel will work my 3 grandogs have kennels and do well when my daughters go to work. They have blankets and just settle in. They feed them in there and leave door open when they eat. They say get in your house :) Fun to have had conversation around fire. Saying porridge made me smile 😊The shots around the park were fun to see and didn't realize you have alot of wet weather. Will it be snowy? Thank you again for sharing always welcome sight to see❤
thanks Mary- We usually get 1 or 2 bouts of snow- usually the wet stuff but it doest usually last very long. Lots of rain though. The gray days get a lot of folks down. Getting out is the antidote for that I find.
Its always a pleasure to watch your videos! For your consideration an 8 or 16 ounce cast iron garlic roaster found on Amazon I think might be the right size for your twig stove apple crisp and the lid has a lip if you want to add coals on top. I hope this helps. Best wishes from Poulsbo WA.
Many thanks M'Lady for another delightful video and for the suggestion of using instant oatmeal as a topping for a cobbler. Have had considerable success using 1/4 " / 6mm hardware cloth for fabricating grills, small shelves and billy can inserts. The hardware cloth bends easily and be cut to size and sculpted with a pair of tin snips. Pleased to see that Milo is adjusting and becoming a member of the family. Male canines can be a bit more difficult to train and acclimate, but he seems to be adjusting and they tend to become more docile as they grow older. Stay well, safe and happy. Cheers❤❤
Hi Wendy: That apple crisp looked mighty tasty, as did your other camp meals. I've never used a twig stove but it looks like fun trying to figure out how to bake things in it. Milo seemed to adapt to the van even though it's still a new experience for him. I'm sure he'll get better and better as time goes on. Horne Lake is quite lovely and serene. I could stare at the view as well as the campfire for hours. Have you gone canoeing on the lake? Have Happy Holidays in December. 🦋🥀🦉🪶🍁🍂
There you are - hi Wendy! That was fun and oh, what a beautiful spot to camp in next to the water. Watching you bake the apple crisp, an idea popped into my head. What if you just cooked the crunchy topping and the apples separately? The instant oats cereal, maybe some added chopped walnuts but no butter because the sugar in the cereal mix will melt and coat everything and make it crunchy. Put the pan with apples inside that large pot & just tuck the topping packet on its side next to it, or just lay it on the outside top of the big pan? Milo is such a beautiful boy and it's only been a few months since he came to be with you. It's 3 years now that my rescue has been with me and Missy still needs to be crated when I leave the house. I have a small water bowl that clips onto the inside of crate, a comfy crate pad with washable cover, give her a favourite quick treat and she is very comfortable in her crate. She will actually go in on her own during the day just to relax and soak up the sun. It will take lots more time for Milo to be sure he is where he's meant to be - home, and his quick kiss on your cheek is a very good sign. Thanks for sharing your lovely weekend with all of us. Stay well.
Stand your Billy pot up with your grill on the bottom then your bread dough on top the grill then put on the lid .put. pot on the little stove Then take foil fill it with coals close it up shape it like say a hat on top of your stove use your twig stove to make a pile of coals before you get it ready to bake. Put a little grease on the inside of the pot Happy trails
Hi Wendy!! I am so happy to see you and Milo out on a camping adventure! I was thinking about your baking- Dutch oven situation. I have 2 little 6 inch cast iron pans that my daughter gave me. They don’t have lids but I’m going to try and find something that would work. I wish I could send you a picture. Anyway if I figure it out I’ll let you know. I’d love to see your creations in them! Stay safe and thanks for the video!
thanks Heidi. you might find some suggestions that would work from these viewer suggestions- Amazing folks out there. thanks for continuing to watch this channel
thank you Paul- it is my pleasure. I am definitely leaning towards a tiny dutch oven but some of the other idea have been really creative. I have my work cut out for me, more fun to come!
Thanks for the video, looks so cozy! I have successfully baked over coals by putting a smaller nesting pot inside a larger pot (both upright) and just putting a few pebbles inside the large pot to create an air space. The inner pot is uncovered. Adding coals on top of the larger pot would work really well.
Bless you for trying so hard to get Milo settled down. You have a big heart and he so very lucky to have you! Nice video Wendy and thanks for including us in your beautiful part of the world. It's truly stunning. I'm not sure if you have ever seen "Simon a Bloke in the Woods" on TH-cam. He does a lot of baking in many different ways. Plus he's a big twig burner user. Love his channel, you may, too.
@@wendyoutdoors2230 I actually just watched one of his old videos making bread in a Billy can on a wood fire. He was able to balance large coals on it, but that wouldn't work with your twig stove. But, I'd bet you'll find plenty of inspiration on his channel and I'd bet he'd answer an DM from you, as well.
👍👍👍 .. nice. The oven worked .. the apple dish looks yummy .. as with the other 😋. Milo will adapt over time. I found that being consistent helps appreciably. Thanks for sharing 😊.
Loving all your videos. A company called 'rough timba' in the uk do a little holder that sits on the top of your billy pot set up, so you can add coals to the top for baking. Its not expensive and works well. Hope that helps x
Thank you for a really nice video. You had a beautiful camp spot and Milo was very good. Your food looked amazing. It was nice yo see you again. Take care.
Loved seeing some of the inside of your van! I'm in the middle of building out a Promaster Van Conversion and love seeing how other's vans are! So glad too that Milo is coming along fine!
we wish you good luck with milo. we lost our dogs in the beginning of this year and in the summer last year and it was a very hard time for us. now we are ready to get a new family member. the 1. of january we will pick up our new puppy and start our dog life again. thank you for your very beautiful videos! susanne
Hi Wendy, Beautiful camping place! Quiet and relaxing! Poor Milo😢 I hope he adjusts to his new home, being by himself at home and starts relaxing and enjoying his adventures with you and Bob🙏🙏🙏 It was nice that you had a nice visit with that lady camping and sharing the fire together. But, please be careful when meeting strangers. I'm sure you have a good sense of who you feel comfortable around and who's trustworthy. I pray for your safety always🙏🙏🙏 I look forward to your next video. God bless you and your family😊❤
❤hey Wendy, that's an exciting way to make dessert!! Imgonna have to try it. Glad to see Milo and a bunch cal er from last time! Great job! Thanks for taking me along, it was fun!!!😊
Couple of thoughts I was going to suggest the Dutch oven when you mentioned you had one but I will keep my eyes in case I see some camper doing something different. We have had a streek of sun and zero rain in the PNW so I sized tge opportunity and thinking about you I came camping. It has beereally cold but we have heat and it's been fantastic. Thanks for inspiration 😊
WOW , What a great way to make apple crisp as is using instant oatmeal / butter that makes sense . I love apple crisp and vanilla ice cream yum.! Nice to see Milo out with you , Milo is just unsure of things at the moment Might take a few months , He will eventually enjoy the tent leave the door open so he can walk in and out as he please's maybe put some good treats inside to coax him in then he can see nothing to fear. Very nice to meet someone .Thanks for taking us with Milo and you very relaxing .
Wonderful to see you and Milo out and about! Actually, the whole video was great! I'm just a teeny bit jelly, its cold here in Alberta, and my camping time is on hold. (I have done winter camping when i was a leader with JFW) If we dont see you before, have a Merry Christmas!
hope you enjoy your trip- All the provincial parks are great but some may not be open in March. Be sure to check on line. The same with some of the rec sites. The north end of the island, past Campbell River is quite quiet and worth a trip on its own if you like low tourist areas, especially that time of year. If you let me know what kind of camping you prefer I could be more specific- ie hook ups, services etc.
Milo wants to go chase rabbits and squirrels have you thought about letting them off the leash to let him burn energy it's good to see you out and about Wendy with Milo I have a problem with one of my dogs getting out every time I try to go somewhere which is very rare she has anxiety and she gets out no matter how secure I do my fence well we'll see you on the next adventure hope you had a good Thanksgiving Wendy you and Bob😊🐺🐺😊
Hi Wendy- I would love to but-- the parks are no off leash areas and Milo is not very good at recall as of yet so I feel it is presently unwise- However- we are working on it all . 🤞🤞
Wendy, do you watch Luke from the Outdoor Boys. He makes bread in his latest video while survival camping. He mixes flour yeast and sugar in a plastic bag. He adds water to the bag and lets the mix rise from the heat by his fire. Then flat frys it in a pan or in this latest video he puts the dough straight on the hot coals. He lathers it with honey. Looks delicious. Milo will come good. Just time.
Hi Wendy, I really enjoy seeing your outings! Milo seems to be adjusting, he likes to lick you lol.I hope he keeps improving.. by the way I see there's a " Stansport pre-seasoned cast iron dutch oven in a small qt size on Amazon, it might work for being over the fire with coals on the lid, cheers!
That cooking idea for the apple dessert is ingenious! And how wonderful to see you still making videos as I thought we had lost you for winter. You are inspiring Wendy with your little one day and two day camps. Are all those lovely lakes you visit within a couple of hours from home?
Wonderful seeing your vlog. Wondering if you have heard of Chef Corso? He is a backpacker and Chef. Saw him on Dan Becker's channel, has lots of good food and ideas for camping.
Try a small cast iron Dutch oven with the lid, that's what we used when we were kids. The Dutch oven in the coals and coals on the lid, bread and cakes always turned out great.
Enjoyed seeing you and Milo and your cooking adventure. Question: what camping table is that, do you like it, and is it adjustable height? Thanks for any recommendations you have.
I believe it is made by CGI . I may not be quite right about that. We bought it in Oregon while on a trip and find it to be quite compact for the van. It is not really adjustable as the lower level has too narrow a base. The higher level is fine.
14:17 🤔Are we sure Milo didn't sense bigfoot? lol The apple crisp came out fantastic. I wonder if a crisper top can be reached with the use of foil. Maybe towards the end of baking, covering the pan with foil and adding a few coal pieces on top may work. It won't be super sturdy and long lasting but for a quick crisp.
Hi Wendy… looked delicious!! Great idea to use a porridge packet👊🏼👊🏼. I watch a you tuber called …Simon, A bloke in the woods … he’s an amazing bushcrafter but he makes loads of various breads in his Billy pot and has a great method for creating the least amount of dishes and clean up … I’ve not tried any of his recipes yet but hoping to do so soon. I’ll see if I can find a specific video and get the link out to ya.
I think you eat better canping then some of us do at home! I have two questions to ask you about camping. The first question has to do with being just a beginner solo camper, what should i get first for camping? Sleeping bag, tent etc or is there a site that would have a list? Next question is do most camping sites allow dogs? Again thank you for sharing!!!😊😊😊
Here is my recipe for Campfire Apple 🍎 Crisp Foil Packets INGREDIENTS * 6 Granny Smith apples thinly sliced (you can peel or not, either way works) * 1/4 cup light brown sugar packed * 3 teaspoons cornstarch * 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon Crumb Topping * 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar * 2 cups flour * 1-1/2 cup quick oats * 1/4 tsp cinnamon * 1/8 tsp nutmeg * 1 cup butter melted * Aluminum Foil * Optional: salted caramel sauce ice cream or cool whip INSTRUCTIONS * Crumb topping: Combine the sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add butter and mix until crumbly. Set aside. * Apple layer: In a large bowl combine brown sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Add apples and stir until all coated with mixture. * Cut out (12) 18 inch sheets of heavy duty aluminium foil. You will use two pieces of foil for each packet. * Divide apple mixture equally onto each foil packet. Add 1 cup of crumb topping over each packet of apples. Seal and close up packets. * Campfire: Your campfire should have been going for a while so that you have a nice 1-2 inch layer of hot & ready white coals. Place your foil packets on a grill 2 inches above the coals and cook for 12-15 minutes or until apples are cooked through and crumb topping is golden brown. * Carefully open foil packets, top with ice cream or cool whip if desired and serve. Obviously adjust amount for 1 person.
Thanks for another lovely and informative video! Bless you for giving Milo a loving home and for your patience. Im sure you will be grateful to have him in your life!
Yes, we really are. thank you
Thanks, Wendy. I really enjoyed that update. I love seeing your location, learning about how to improvise, and how to flow with what's happening at location. Enjoy seeing how Milo is doing, what a good dog! Thanks again.
Thanks so much!
As always..your an inspiration. Glad to see Milo also. Take care!
Thank you! You too!
That looks good and I can almost smell it too! Enjoy your trip.
Thank you, I will
Ingenious use of your new twig stove - I call that a success. Good idea re the instant oatmeal, too; thanks for sharing. Perfect mini break. Have a great week, Wendy.

Hi Wendy and Milo, what a nice surprise to see you out enjoying nature. ❤
Yes it was Pam- we had a great time.
Hey wendy,Love Milo❤ and you can cook anything! cant wait to see more❤❤❤
thanks from both of us.
Very nice outdoor adventure ❤👍
For making bread....a mini Dutch oven, or make bannock with rolling dough around a wooden stick
thanks for the ideas. I will investigate.
Good to see you out enjoying the woods so late in the season. Take care!
Thanks Lori 👍
Instant oatmeal as the topping!! Brilliant!
thanks to another you tuber who I can't remember!
I agree Julie- It was a great little trip

What a great way to spend Black Friday - spending time in nature with Milo is way better than shopping! Thanks for taking us along on your adventure.

Yes. I was thinking about looking on line for a small one unless someone comes up with a better idea. thanks Wendy
Yum! Great Milo update. Awesome you have the "family therapy" taking place. Nice to see you!👍😎🇨🇦

thanks Heidi. you might find some suggestions that would work from these viewer suggestions- Amazing folks out there. thanks for continuing to watch this channel
I use my Dutch oven when baking bread at camp. Yes to charcoal briquettes top and bottom. Certainly appreciate you taking us along on your adventures.
thank you Paul- it is my pleasure.
Adding coals on top of the larger pot would work really well.
great ideas- will see if I can make something work
So good to see you!! Thanks for sharing your skills and equipment! I'm feeling the need to camp, myself!
totally!! I was in deep need myself.
Thanks so much. I will check him out
@@wendyoutdoors2230 I actually just watched one of his old videos making bread in a Billy can on a wood fire. He was able to balance large coals on it, but that wouldn't work with your twig stove. But, I'd bet you'll find plenty of inspiration on his channel and I'd bet he'd answer an DM from you, as well.
My dream is to hava van like your and do what you do! Thank you for your video. Love your dog!
thanks Audrey
👍👍👍 .. nice.
The oven worked .. the apple dish looks yummy .. as with the other 😋.
Milo will adapt over time. I found that being consistent helps appreciably.
Thanks for sharing 😊.
thanks Thomas
Unexpected fireside-fellowship for the win!
absolutely
Loving all your videos. A company called 'rough timba' in the uk do a little holder that sits on the top of your billy pot set up, so you can add coals to the top for baking. Its not expensive and works well. Hope that helps x
Thanks for the info!
Lovely dog and lovely lady!
thank you.
Thank you for a really nice video. You had a beautiful camp spot and Milo was very good. Your food looked amazing. It was nice yo see you again. Take care.
Thank you so much Brenda
Glad to see another video. Beautiful area.
I think so too. Great spot
Loved seeing some of the inside of your van! I'm in the middle of building out a Promaster Van Conversion and love seeing how other's vans are! So glad too that Milo is coming along fine!
thanks Pete- he really is progressing- Have fun with your van build.
we wish you good luck with milo. we lost our dogs in the beginning of this year and in the summer last year and it was a very hard time for us. now we are ready to get a new family member. the 1. of january we will pick up our new puppy and start our dog life again. thank you for your very beautiful videos! susanne
wonderful and congratulations!!! Puppies are so much work but worth it in the end- have fun!!!!!
Hi Wendy,
Beautiful camping place!
Quiet and relaxing!
Poor Milo😢
I hope he adjusts to his new home, being by himself at home and starts relaxing and enjoying his adventures with you and Bob🙏🙏🙏
It was nice that you had a nice visit with that lady camping and sharing the fire together.
But, please be careful when meeting strangers.
I'm sure you have a good sense of who you feel comfortable around and who's trustworthy.
I pray for your safety always🙏🙏🙏
I look forward to your next video.
God bless you and your family😊❤
thank you so much for kindness and caring Gail.
Horne Lake!!! I’ve been there!!! My husband and I did the caving adventure in July when we visited…
great- I havent ventured in there myself yet.
❤hey Wendy, that's an exciting way to make dessert!! Imgonna have to try it. Glad to see Milo and a bunch cal er from last time! Great job! Thanks for taking me along, it was fun!!!😊
thanks so much for coming!
Great to see you! Awesome video!!
Thank you!! 😊
Thanks for inspiration 😊
great you went out. It is worth having some discomfort to have the fun of it all.
Very nice to meet someone .Thanks for taking us with Milo and you very relaxing .
thanks Sue for your suggestions and for continuing to support this channel with your time.
Wonderful to see you and Milo out and about! Actually, the whole video was great! I'm just a teeny bit jelly, its cold here in Alberta, and my camping time is on hold. (I have done winter camping when i was a leader with JFW) If we dont see you before, have a Merry Christmas!
same you- thanks for commenting
I can't wait to try this, thank you for the video. I am planning trip to Vancouver Island next March or April ,could you list a few camping places
hope you enjoy your trip- All the provincial parks are great but some may not be open in March. Be sure to check on line. The same with some of the rec sites. The north end of the island, past Campbell River is quite quiet and worth a trip on its own if you like low tourist areas, especially that time of year. If you let me know what kind of camping you prefer I could be more specific- ie hook ups, services etc.
Used to use a gallon can to bake bread in over the coals
Long before all the wonderful camping cook pots were available
Great minds…I’ve made camp fire apple crisp with instant oats. It’s wonderful.
totally Sarah!! love the simplicity
Just time.
I have seen him but will relook. thank you
❤❤❤❤❤
Parchment paper and a round of foil will help keep it from burning
Love to bake 1:31 on the twig stove
It sounds like you have a great fire going! Why not just use the fire and a dutch oven? Any way you do it, love your content. :)
yes. But-- I love trying new things and I want to see if I can do something yummy that is smaller and more portable. I love a challenge!!
Hi Wendy, I really enjoy seeing your outings! Milo seems to be adjusting, he likes to lick you lol.I hope he keeps improving.. by the way I see there's a " Stansport pre-seasoned cast iron dutch oven in a small qt size on Amazon, it might work for being over the fire with coals on the lid, cheers!
thanks I looked it up👍
That cooking idea for the apple dessert is ingenious! And how wonderful to see you still making videos as I thought we had lost you for winter. You are inspiring Wendy with your little one day and two day camps. Are all those lovely lakes you visit within a couple of hours from home?
thanks for watching- yes, many are within 1-4 hours away.
For baking bread you can use a small dutch oven made of cast iron. I've done it on a tent stove (with wood in it) and it worked really well.
thank you for sharing your idea
Wonderful seeing your vlog. Wondering if you have heard of Chef Corso? He is a backpacker and Chef. Saw him on Dan Becker's channel, has lots of good food and ideas for camping.
thanks- will have a look
Try a small cast iron Dutch oven with the lid, that's what we used when we were kids. The Dutch oven in the coals and coals on the lid, bread and cakes always turned out great.
thanks Janice
Enjoyed seeing you and Milo and your cooking adventure. Question: what camping table is that, do you like it, and is it adjustable height? Thanks for any recommendations you have.
I believe it is made by CGI . I may not be quite right about that. We bought it in Oregon while on a trip and find it to be quite compact for the van. It is not really adjustable as the lower level has too narrow a base. The higher level is fine.
Of course.... the comments from us know it alls 😂 .
Dogs just aren't built to be alone . Mother Nature made them as pack / family animals.
I really enjoy hearing from them all!! so many grand ideas for me to work with . I understand about the pack , we are it! Sweet little fellow .
It was such a touching moment when Milo kissed you 😘🤗
got to love a doggy kiss!
14:17 🤔Are we sure Milo didn't sense bigfoot? lol The apple crisp came out fantastic. I wonder if a crisper top can be reached with the use of foil. Maybe towards the end of baking, covering the pan with foil and adding a few coal pieces on top may work. It won't be super sturdy and long lasting but for a quick crisp.
thanks for your idea. Im making a list!
What's the size of your billy can? I have a bushbox LF and a grill plate, and a small billy can, but that could never fit a bake form.
I believe it is 2 litres.

I think Emily from cat lady van uses a Dutch oven.
thanks Janice
Check out the channel "shoestring Martha" she baked bread over a campfire. She's got a lot of good recipes on there too using a pie iron.
will do - thanks
Is that a rented van?
no, We bought the van 8 yrs ago. It is a 2004 oldie but goodie and works well for us.
Aren’t you scared to camp alone?
no, not there. a pretty safe campsite.
Here is my recipe for
Campfire Apple 🍎 Crisp Foil Packets
INGREDIENTS
* 6 Granny Smith apples thinly sliced (you can peel or not, either way works)
* 1/4 cup light brown sugar packed
* 3 teaspoons cornstarch
* 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Crumb Topping
* 2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
* 2 cups flour
* 1-1/2 cup quick oats
* 1/4 tsp cinnamon
* 1/8 tsp nutmeg
* 1 cup butter melted
* Aluminum Foil
* Optional: salted caramel sauce ice cream or cool whip
INSTRUCTIONS
* Crumb topping: Combine the sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Obviously adjust amount for 1 person.
great recipe and idea. Really appreciate you taking the time to share this with the viewers and me.
