The ZX14 is a beautiful bike. Of course I have a 2009 special edition (burnt orange). I have had on many occasions everybody from cruisers to Ducati riders (which are some of the most gorgeous bikes) come to look over my bike and ignore so many others. She really does get the looks. I stay away from the three no-nos that I have. That is lowering, stretching, and putting whole different bars on these bikes.

The scuff on the lowering links appears to be from when someone cut a little excess bolt thread and probably had a bit of an oopsie with the angle grinder.
I can barely touch both toes when I stop at light or something. Already caused me to drop it twice. Trying to get out my gate it was all slippery and muddy. Pissed me the f*** off went down in slow motion f*** it up.. my GSXR 1000 was the same thing . People told me don't you're going to mess up the suspension and the steering and blah blah blah... And then the first time I dropped it because I coukdnt touch my feet ..I lowered that bike. after that it was a whole nother world it was great . So I'm dropping the zX
How’s the lowered 14?
Wouldn't recommend lowering this bike if you ride on the street to any extent. Get a shaved down seat first. The bike is so low you will beat the fenders off of speed bumps and stuff if you lower it. Plus the bike is actually incredibly nimble in the turns as many would be surprised to hear, it does very much so handle like a sport bike. Lowering it will effect that negatively as well.
Definitely not an ugly bike, handle mint too👍

You can cut 1 inch off the factory kick stand or buy a shorter stand we do that always in drag racing roaring toys offer a shorter kick stand problem solved 👍
Hi Mark, had a similar issue with my bike. Lowered it and then it stood up too much on the side stand. At a petrol station it went to fall over, but I managed to say it...just. Luckily there is another shorter side stand from another model, so fitted that and now the bike is perfect.

@@shanesmith429 Sorry mate, it wasn't this model of bike. It was my NC750x, I used the stand from a NC750s.
this was my worry and yes you can change the stand but it just didnt feel right , lucky you saved it lol
ZZR14 is a cracking bike wish I’d bought one years ago too dam old now sadly. Like being sat up on my Bandits now. Bet you keep the ZZR they are sooooo comfort and boy are they quick.

42 front and 42 rear mark,presures even 3 or 4 psi the bike would feel bad , try doing the tyre presures 1st before anything .

Great vid, just wondering whether it is possible to lower the front as well as the back on this bike?
You can by the top of the shocks through the yolk ,however I would as it feels odd and it's only by 5 to 10mm which really doent make any odds bud

If u don’t lower the front as well, ur headlights will blind on coming traffic, there’s a kit for it, but it’s a bit of a fight to get the front end low enough to match the rear, also front travel is limited- probably best to leave front alone and adjust the headlights
URGENT HELP NEEDED.
Hi Mark,
So i have had this Peugot Speedfight 2 100cc for a while now, it was in poor condition and needed a new bendix, spark plug and the stator magnet was cleaned. After a few changes the bike started working and running well. However, the starting was inconsistent and the sound was very loud.
After about 2 months of use, i was on a long drive on a hot day and the bike started having issues. I was doing 55-60 down on the motorway and when i got to a set of lights, the bike was struggling to get going again. It then cut out and wouldnt start, so i left it for 10 minutes and it started up again to get me home.
From this day, i could definitely notice a lack of power when idling at any lights or just when stopped, i didnt take this as a big issue as i would just open up the throttle to maintain the revs. Anyway i go holiday for 16 days and when i come back there was an issue with the bike where it would start backfiring when i was driving and only seemed to get more frequent. The smell of fuel/oil was very strong while i was driving too.
After about a week of this issue, the bike stopped working full stop and would start for a few seconds and cut out again. After examining the spark plug it was black and oily, as well as this there seems to be a lot of carbon all around the outside of the engine and where the exhaust meets the motor.
I have done the following changes to try to improve the situation,
- Replaced the piston + rings
- Replaced the gaskets
- Replaced automatic choke with a manual choke
- Adjusted and cleaned the carb
Here is another list of things i have changed since it was standing,
- New Spark Plug (BR8ES)
- New Bendix
- New air filter (Parlini)
- Cleaned the rust of stator magnet
- Replaced all crank case housing bolts
- Replaced Battery
- New rollers
- Replaced the wool in the exhaust
The bike has been out of action for around a month and with the new gaskets the sound has gotten quiet but the bike cant go up the road without spluttering and popping until it stops, this issue is really getting me down.
I am only 19 and would appreciate any help that i can get and can provide lots more details if needed.

They are quite a long low bike anyway. So lowering them at the rear really slows the steering.

hi mark unrelevent to this video but a question i have is i got a watercooled speedfight 1 1999 the exhaust is a heavy duty stock one but i want to put a yasuni R on it will i have to upjet the carb
any exhaust will be better than stock so come down to you taste , just change exhaust first as most will run without upjet but if so id go 4 up from stock
I’m tall enough but my but isn’t wide enough and that makes it difficult I need to lower it 😅

Hello mark, I lowered my ZZR, worst thing I ever did ! And when the tyres have low pressure 😮 omg not good at all, every ride out was a fight with the bike - just going out to my garage to put it back to standard. Cheers
I didn't like it on my zzr ,yet on my trophy it was great
It’s was too easy to bottom out, my centre exhaust pipe has taken a few whacks 😳 I’ve just got back in from the garage having restored to standard, been meaning to do it for months- saw ur video and it inspired me to and do it ! So cheers for that 👍🏻

ZZR 1400 is easily one of the sexiest bikes out there, is it as good as a Busa? ...not sure...need to ride one to make my mind up
I like these better but that's me as I've rode both bud
hi buddy in my opinion the busa gen 2 was better in the bends and my 65 plate zzr was more comfortble to ride .both bikes are ace and big torque monsters.

Cut off the toe and wield it back on,, lower links allow me to nail it with out the front wheel going to the sky,,lol.. just planted and gone..
