My last trip to Pattaya was nearly 50 years ago. As I remember you could easily stroll from one end to the other in @ 15 min. There were perhaps, three hotel/motels I would stay at and eat at a dozen restaurants. A nice couple of days away from war. The change to what you show not is stunning.
I'm always looking for great food stalls in Patts, thanks for showing me a few that i didn't know about. To all the e-beggers who gave this a thumbs down....we're sick to death in you asking subscribers to fund your retirement! If you don't have enough money, then go back to work like the rest of us!
Pal, 10yrs ago when I first started using the tin-cup, which is basically a farang nickname for the place, it was almost void of customers. I think I was their first regular western customer. The menu was in Thai back then, so you needed to memorise the point on the menu to order the same meal, else you'd be in for a lottery meal.
Great video blogs been to pattaya many times and love thai food I've eaten in the food court great value for money and good food also tried the noodle shop soi honey but never knew about the guy on 13/2 will go for sure when I go again this march Is he there all day I'm not the earliest of risers
Hello yes I enjoy the thai foods and tin cup or hole in the wall is another name for it, I was taken there first by a thai lady I asked her to choose where she likes to eat and I have been going there ever since, for the challenge 100 bt per day would be good thanks again.
I just found your channel this morning, Very good, very informative, clear, complete . If you are looking for ideas, the motorbikes, scooters, drivers license requirements, buy, rent, new, used, cost, rules. I will look for your other videos now that I found you. Thank you for what you are sharing with us.
Just found your videos a few days ago. Been to Pattaya many times ( and I luv the place) but it is good to see it from a different perspective. When you spoke about the buffet at All Day cafe I was getting interested until the spoiler, it ends in 2 days. Damn as my next trip is March. If you come across other "similar" type buffets, let us know. Keep up the good work. Thank you..
Nice work. I like how you covered the info on the noodle soup. My wife is Thai and a chef. She makes all her broths from scratch. Simmers for hours filling the whole house with wonderful smells. One thing I sadly noticed on recent trips to Thailand is that table tray of condiments no longer includes crushed peanuts. That’s a must for me. I guess it is probably related to cost. Those and the chopped chilies in vinegar are my number one add-ins to the soup.
You are a lucky man to be able to enjoy that aroma at home, I believe the broth to have health benefits as well, collagen, for example. Thanks for watching. 🙏🍺
Frank Zap I’m guessing generally where there’s customers with more $$ to spend and prices a bit more. My recent (2018) experience was in Issan and peanuts were nowhere to be found.
Tim McDowell Yes and no for me.. Yeh I live on and off in koh samui, so obviously very touristy.. but i generally find the peanuts in more local areas with 50thb noodle soups etc..
Love your videos. I already live a minimalist lifestyle in the US and am planning on retirement in Asia as soon as humanly possible. I dont have to eat for dirt cheap, but I kinda like the challenge. I also think getting in the habit of not wasting money is good practice to prepare for retirement. I took a girl with me to Koh Chang for a few days. The package was cheap, transportation, hotel and included breakfast was about 150$ each for 4 days/3 nights. It was the first time I decided to try eating at a night food market and I havent looked back. I can eat until I am stuffed on 3 dollars. The food is fresh and there is lots of variety. She likes seafood and soup, I like chicken, rice, spring rolls and noodles. I could eat for 100 baht a day, but for 150 baht i have many more options, 200 baht and I have leftovers. People that say you cant live in thailand for 1000$ a month are crazy. Besides I prefer to save my money for other activities.
Somehow TH-cam algorithm led me to your channel. Watched your review of Tin Cup and now go frequently. Subscribed. If you're in Pattaya again within next 2 weeks, I'll buy your dinner.
This is the first time I have ever watched one of your videos. I've just subscribed and plan on binge watching the rest of your videos. If you haven't done it already, I would appreciate a video on how you learned to speak Thai. I also voted for the 100 baht/day video. Thanks.
so many of those little eateries are great. Soup like 30 baht. Pork kabob 10 baht. Sticky rice the same. Complete meal at KISS hard to beat. Fresh and busy.
Good information thanks. Was eating the same pad Thai on Monday, great belly filler. Will definitely have to go try the noodle 🍲 soup on 13/2. Cheers 🇹🇭🇹🇭🥢🥢
Great video love my Thai food!!!!! One of my favourite little places to eat in Pattaya is at the end of Soi 2 Second road side near the soapy massage parlours and next to the Sabai resort massage place, There is a big coach car park with around 6-8 little covered eating places or whatever u wish to call them, not as cheap as a lot of places but been many times and food is always great, New subscriber!!!!
Just discovered your channel and love it. The cheap eats and where to find on the map and how to say the name in Thai, is the right combination. Your channel will thrive.
Thank you so much for your videos. I'm British but grew up in Thailand. Back then 1000 baht seemed like a ton of money. Now? It seems very much like thirty American dollars. Lol. Great vids, please keep it up and thanks again.
Very good vlog again R4K, tried both the Tin Cup and a few of them stalls at Soi Buakhao Market but the noodle soup restaurant in Soi Diana was a new one to me. Will defo try it.
Yeah, It's really hard to beat Tin Cup for location, price and quality of food. They have just gotten real busy in the last month or so during high season so I've been branching out. Thanks for watching. 🙏👍
Can't beat the 'Tin pot' for value but where you were on Soi new Plaza roughtly opposite the Crew bar try that ladies stall where they have the rotisserie garlic Chicken afternoon time you will not regret it mate thanks for the excellent vlog and cheers mate !
My favorite cheap Thai dinner is somtam thai from the guy on Soi pipi and fried chicken with sticky rice from Soi Buakhao market stall. I always find it funny when a person comes to Thailand and doesn't eat Thai food.. whatever..yes to 100 baht day.
Thanks for the effort that you're putting into these vids. As others have said a refreshing change from the "live streaming nonsense" Thumbs up from me on the 100 baht day. Cheers.
Mr Rides 4 Kickz, Sir been in Tin Cup many times and never seen the waitress smile, if it's not busy I would go in but if shoulder to shoulder I will avoid because who wants to sit next to other fat bald & ugly farangs 🤣 sooner pay a bit more for a Beautiful smile & a bit of ambience 😄🙏
as like u order is kwetiau (thicker rice noodles) vermicelli (thinner rice noodles), gaeng phet (thai red curry) :-) btw u eat pad thai (stirfry kwetiau) looks delicious, tx4share bro
most westerners would never even think of having hot soup in the morning on a hot day in the USA. But I love it when in Thailand and wish could get it like that here in the USA
Have you been in the radio or tv business? Great Voice and Very Interesting!!! Easy to listen with great tips!!! Just liked and subbed yesterday so working on catching up on your vids! Keep them coming!!! Retirement is coming soon!!!!
Recently started watching your vlogs - very informative and easy paced like this one about Thai Food and a previous one about the bike wash. Much better than some of the bar live streaming nonsense that is produced - Thankyou.
No, that is purified water, there are pitchers of it on each table and you just help yourself. Nobody can drink tap water, not even the Thais. There are microorganisms as well as a very concentrated mineral content in tap water. Everyone drinks purified water, most is filtered through reverse osmosis and is actually very close to distilled water as most everything is filtered out.
Hmm.. never eaten at tin cup place or that one by soi honey, will check them out. Eaten a lot at that buakhao market place. I've had bad guts from there a few times, so careful what you choose. Guay Tieow is generally good I think as it's hot.
What about GWOI JUP ...the thing with the guts in it... Love it...breakfast of champions! And the rice porridge "Joke" with an egg in it and served with "Batongo" fried donut stick!! Love Thai food!!!
On both my 30 day stays in Thailand, I got the shits. I'm one of those that bought the hype about Thai food and was initially disappointed. With time I'm slowly coming around and found this vlog appetizing with a yearn to revisit soon.
ill never understand why people go to foreign countries or other places and refuse to eat the local foods. this is the type of food videos I enjoy watching.
Be careful if you get a takeaway at the Tin cup ..Those food containers are spring loaded ..you couldn't fit more in if you tried ..Sat in there one night a few years back for a quick meal .Never again ,way to hot with just the ceiling fans .Soi Buakhao great for food though ..Thanks ..Will be their next weekend
I have to agree with you about the "Western food" restaurants,I have taken many ladies for meals and most of them never finish theirs...When I ask, they say "Not good"..They like the idea of going to a nice restaurant but are rarely complimentary on the food...but then again, they're not paying for it...Though I had one lady who loved the fillet steaks in the Tara Court 5555
฿ 60 baht breakfast omelette that’s s what I’m looking for. Ham and cheese sausage and cheese. Or, just 4 eggs over easy and a slice of ham would be good,
I'm glad you tidied it up at the end because even for Thailand 100 baht a day is squeezing it , I think you need at least 200/250 baht a day for sustainable food for us non Asians.

Great video , love Thai food . I can try these in March
Good on you for supporting local business in Pattaya and when we get to Pattaya for a holiday we can eat at these places.
Loved the vid. Makes me homesick for Pattaya and Thai food!!
Nice videos, your voice is almost identical to Anthony Bourdain's haha.. good job!
Keep doing these and pretty soon you too will be the most famous youtuber in all of youtuber.
Another interesting video. Eaten in the tin cup many times. You were lucky to get a seat there.
The 100 baht challenge next please. 👍

That Tin Cup is a great place to eat. Try their Chicken Penang, it's awesome.
I have been there 15 times since 2004. I miss it so much.

I like those big noodles too, that is a great breakfast!
Great little selection of food, good one mate.

I only ever eat at The Tin Cup .. love the crispy pork and kale (I think).
Yeah, that's one of my favorites too 👍

That double edged sword! Not too busy you can get a seat. The locals don’t rate it. Always busy and hard to get a seat. Locals highly rate it! 😀
by the way just watched the vlog great info and great narration...L.A Rob
Hello from Uzbekistan!
Thnks for these; great Vids and very useful.

I found your videos about a month ago, they’re a pleasure to watch, really enjoy your style 👍

Hands down, I would say Moo Bing (pork on a stick) is your best food option. Good protein content at 10 baht each and very tasty.
Tin cup was my favourite Paneng curry is great there.
One year on not many open.
Looks like lots of fun..looks tasty too.. how is it for safety? Is Pattaya safe?
Where you went for dinner is where I would usually go for breakfast...👍
Really its helpful Thank you, 🙏 Thank you for helping🚴Explore more
Excellent Food Tour! We'll hit-up Tin Cup when I'm there in 3 weeks if you have time.
Yeah, that is my go to place usually, never had a bad meal there. 👍

I have DECIDED that you are the Go To guy for information on everything ie: food, condos, motorcycles, and value. Thanks.
Thank you for great videos . What is the safest way to travel by motorbike from Pattaya to Bangkok?
Thank you
Best to just use Sukhumvit Rd. I have a vid about crossing Bangkok, watch the beginning of that to see the Sukhumvit Rd turn off from the highway.
Put the bike on a pickup, and ride inside the cab... ;-)
Nice Vid! I stay at LK Metropole on my trips and have lunch at Tin Cup almost every day. Cheap and Thai Girls like it.
Yes let's see your idea of what 100 Bhat meal budget can be. Thanks.
i recon your voice. ure the one that collects seiko divers?
Really enjoye your style of videos ! Random question but can you tell me the address of 19:01 ?
Wow Lucas what a different scene on this video compared to today 30 Oct 2021. People, traffic and shops a noticeable difference.

Mr Christopher Finn, Sir, stef was to blame for the demise of Live-Stream (fun fact) & you can (Google it)🇹🇭
Can you find something similar closer north side Wongamat?
Was the water in your tin cup tap water? Is that advisable for a tourist to drink?

Love the food tour well I look stupid not using chopsticks or should I learn how?
Just was noticing how the main beach road is all torn up and is for now a single lane !!! must be hell on the week ends and high season...
Is the noodle stand still there?
I sure do miss Thai food. I have only found 2 Thai restaurants here in the Bay Area that even comes close to the spots in Pattaya. Now I am hungry😎
Thumbs up for the 100 baht day.
You annunciate and project your voice like a professional broadcaster. Great editing also.
I love Thai's food
Why is it called Soi Diana? In google map I see Soi Pattayasaisong 13 instead.

฿ 60 baht breakfast omelette that’s s what I’m looking for. Ham and cheese sausage and cheese. Or, just 4 eggs over easy and a slice of ham would be good,
how long does it take to get from your condo to Pattaya?
50 minutes
Do you rent an apartment outside of the city ?
Yes, about an hour away.
You ever get your joint worked on?
I'm glad you tidied it up at the end because even for Thailand 100 baht a day is squeezing it , I think you need at least 200/250 baht a day for sustainable food for us non Asians.
Go away troll
