  • In this episode we take a look at what eating at 7 Eleven would be like as an option to eating local food. We eat breakfast lunch and dinner at 7 Eleven and enjoy the meals at strategic locations with nice sea views. Almost all 7 Elevens would be considered similar in regards to their respective offerings so whether you are in Bangkok, Chiang Mai or Pattaya, the result should be similar. Come along and see what choices are available and what it will cost us to eat three meals at the 7 Eleven.

I only made one mistake when i first was in Jomtien Beach Thailand i got food from the 7 eleven.. my friend was outside eating chicken on a stick and wow one bite and that was the last time i ate at 7 eleven food and that was 16 years ago and too many trips to Thailand to mention.. i will take all types of Thai food over pre made junk food.. why would anyone spend money on this type of food when you are in a country that really offers food for every taste bud from bbq chicken to noodle dishes and great woked classic Thai dishes...eat fruit,, so many unique fruits you can have great smoothies everywhere in Thailand... 7-11 is for late night snacks only. Many things are actually quite yummy and cheap there, but can't beat the awesome Thai street food if you know what you're looking for.

Molon Labe there’s plenty of good food in Thailand that would be considered foreign food. Served on the street or served in modest restaurants. The best food I eat in Thailand is grilled chicken with sticky rice, also those grilled pork skewers are delicious only 10 baht each. 20 Thailand baht would get you an entire bunch of bananas Why pay 9 Bhat for one? Anybody with the guts to travel all the way to Thailand should have enough guts to eat some street food or eat in a modest Thai restaurant. But kudos For this guy doing the video to show them that there’s some food not to be afraid of. But it’s just junk in 7-Eleven do you know

You ask the question but I will ask you another question, if it is so bad how come the Thai population frequent 7/11 so often? when do you ever see one with no customers the bing bong every few seconds tell you they have a good formulae, but I must admit not for me unless no other option.

@@grahamjohnson4702 Hi Graham yes there are many Thais that do buy items in the 7/11 and most are very young, its convenient but does not compare to the foods available on the streets that are of a different level of quality and flavor and can be found at better pricing and are open late in many areas of Bangkok and Pattaya// L.A Rob

7 11s usually and most often in my 15 trips have very nice staff. The girls are friendly. They often helped me top up my phone with minutes. If I need a frozen chicken burger microwaved, they usually will do that, put the toppings on I want, etc. depending on the size and layout of the store. that cool blast of cold air and the little dinging sound when the sliding door opens, constantly reminds me I am in Pattaya and I miss it dearly.

If you are travelling and you are worried about unsafe food, just find somewhere that is packed with locals. The people living there aren't going to go to a restaurant that will make them sick. This goes for everywhere, not just Thailand.

The hot ham and cheese or sausage and cheese are great for breakfast with a capuchino. It's my go to breakfast. I've tried eating breakfast out but nothing impresses me. Rubbery bacon... by lunch I'll be eating pad thai noodles and shrimp and at night I hit the different night food markets.

Lucas, I bet your taste buds and bowels hated you for a few days after that exercise. Very brave of you.
If you have to get up stupid early do a visa run and the carts haven't started up, then you'll need a coffee (from 7/11) and their raisin bread buns aren't bad. The only other thing I'd get from there again is the ham & cheese toastie but only if 7/11 is the only option because pretty much any cart food is a better option... except maybe fried bugs 555

Yep you definitely missed out when you passed on the yogurt with the musele and dried fruit on top. Me and my Mrs eat them for breakfast every day when I'm in Pattaya. (cheaper if you buy in packs from big c) and it's the cheese and ham toastie you need. As for the ready meals I prefer the pork or chicken and bazel with rice and a fried egg. Not as good as the freshly cooked street food but still has plenty of flavor it fills a hole. I could tell from the look on your face that the soi dogs would be eating a burger tonight ! 555

of course the cup of noodle soup is OK late at night now and then. So much better to buy te street vendor real soup, but at 2 am and going back to the hotel to wind down, the 1 buck for the soup hits the spot. Get Watermelon, Cantaloupe & Pineapple (50 Baht - $150 USD) and a "Cheese toastie" (the one in the white wrapper 28 Baht - $.70 USD) put it all in the fridge and in the morning have an awesome (super fresh) breakfast for less than $2.50 USD ! The frozen Burger Kung or Shrimp burgers are yummy. They microwave them up, and the good 7 11s have toppings and dressings. Get a bag of potato chips and a coke. A fine walking around snack. As for getting sick, in my 15 trips only once did I get a bit of a tummy bug. Took a few days to get rid of. I guess just a mild case of diarrhea. I get a lot of the smoothie drinks that are usually made with ice from the city tap water at restaurants. Same for ice in my coke at dinner. So be wary of that if you are sensitive.

If you're in Thailand as a foreigner, you may as well get used to the idea of eating the local Thai food. Build up your tolerance to eating the spicy foods...it's good for you and there's plenty of variety. The best you can do is try to eat at a place that seems clean and avoid eating raw seafood or meat that's not cooked thoroughly. Eating that processed junk food at a 7-11 isn't healthy.

Ive watched dozens of your videos but I guess I've missed it. You've never mentioned what type of visa you're on that allows you to stay there long term?

I understand the purpose of the video but you could probably get your average daily meal cost down if you had a kitchen in your apartment.

You can find a lot of food in the open buffet for most of the Malls (Central Festival has a giant open buffet ). Baked sweet potato, pasta, beef, chicken, rice, steamed vegetable, etc... and not so much expensive. I wouldn't prefer to eat at 7 eleven. maybe some chips and beer Ok. I think street food is much better than 7eleven. I`ll be there in February 😎.

Only time I eat from 7-11 is when it's a mid beer bar tour stop. And it has to be the ham n cheese toastie. Othersize its just drinks from there

Street food vendors can be as cheap with fresh greens and veg. Meat and rice. Alot better tasting and better for you I think.
