I lived in Chiang Mai for a year and still spend every winter in the city. I eat street food everyday. I usually spend less than 100 baht including a beverage. I love to cook, but I don't think I could produce a meal for less. Besides it's fun to people watch as I eat my meal and the world goes by.
I lived 8 years in Thailand and Streetfood is the best food u can get. I was lucky to have a Super Cheap Supermarket next to my Room, 30 sec. walk. Every evening/night there was a small Food Market next to it. 60 - 100 Thb u had a proper meal that last for 2 ppl. I loved the deep fried small Fish one of the shop offered. Fun Fact: The ppl at the Market know me very well as a daily customer, so i never was riped off or got smaller portions, its diffrent if you represent yourself as a Farang Tourist Btw your Thai is awesome 👍
I can't say I have ever been ripped off by Thai vendors, in fact the opposite and always making sure I have what is available with the main food I was buying, and always making sure when I said spicy, their usual look as they say you sure?
Strange that I have had you on ring the bell since I first started to watch you, from your almost, earliest videos but missed this one I found whilst just trawling back.
Yes, those people are very handy, small place, all in the right spot and very fast. What a food for 100 baht! And a table and chear at 7/11, with a ice cold beer! I do not put ice in my beer, but the most Thai people do. One beer with your food is alright when you driving a bike. You speak very good Thai, how did you you learn? I remember I ordered 2 boiled eggs 8 minutes cooked on Soi Buakhao, but the older lady did not understood. A younger lady next to her looked on her phone and I got my nice boiled eggs... It was dark, very late or very early in the morning, do not remember that part, but there where enough street vendors. I think they understand NO SPICEY, that is what I always say ordering Thai food. And I think I am not the only farang. I enjoyed the ride again friend, thank you!
Awesome spread of food for 100 baht! Your thoughts on streetfood are the same as mine. It's one of the main reasons i continually visit Thailand. Excellent video.
Hey great vid, really good to watch. All that food, I'm a bit of a savoury nut. Keep enjoying your work good luck for future vids. Bri and frei east Yorkshire x
Ah, the memories :) I envy you that you live there. What I would really like to see is a bike tour through the countryside stopping here and there for the view and a snack or two. Nothing special, just random driving around. Some years ago I made a two day trip Chiang Mai to Pai with the Pai night market. One of my fondest memories. Cant wait to do that again.
@@carleveson7518 Well, I guess it's just as good to be be trapped in Thailand as in the US...infections per million is lower in Thailand than the US. Hope you have enough money to ride it out. Take care.
You have to take some pork and put it in the spring rolls etc. yourself....I do this at the Chinese Buffet adding shrimp, ckn etc, to them as well as topping off cali rolls wt shrimp = delish
Thank you for another great video That market looks amazing , is it possible to travel there and back from Pattaya on the one night without a motor bike, what are the best transport options?
Quite a banquet for 100tb, I'd be satisfied with 40-50tb worth. I admire your use of their language, unlike some of the ignoramus' that vlog in S.E. Asia
I really enjoy your videos. I'll be retiring in about 3 years. Thailand or Vietnam will be my first destination(s). Tell me, how did you learn Thai? Self taught? Classes?
555, because of this vlog, I went out and found a closeby Thai restaurant here in the US, and I pruchased my own 3 course meal! Mine cost a lot more than yours did. 555 But it tasted every bit as good as the stuff you had. My face was beaming just like you at the end of this video (12:16).
That amount of food would cost at least $20 in a non-buffet restaurant where I live! Mixing beer with ice has the side benefit of reducing hang-overs (because hang-overs main cause is from dehydration).
Watching this vs some of your earlier (Computer voice) videos your channel has evolved so much that I really enjoy your new videos. Keep it up, enjoy the content and the new style of "voice over mixed w/ live" sounds. Makes for a new "model" of videos that I believe will catch on: Video that captures the sound of the experience + Narration that expresses your personal experience.
i lived and had a business in Phuket for a few years, when I'd go outside Phuket I could not believe the price differential, even Pattaya is like 30-40% cheaper I would say, ;ast time in Pattaya late 2017, at the same time a beer bar price in Phuket (not patong) was 80b, Patong 90b, Pattaya 50-55b, food hotel everything cheaper, That meal you got, no way in Phuket, even in non tourist area's where thai people live. My house was in a Thai area - Kathu, large expat community . Many Thais live here and commute to Phuket town or Patong for work. Makes you think , the value you are getting or on the otherside, how can they sell at that price and make a living, high turnover must be
What no dessert! And what are favorite desserts in Thailand? I noticed there was no bargaining for the street food. Is that typical? Anyway another good and informative video.
Jeez This looks so good...BUT wonder if all that plastic and can gets recycled....I realy wonder if 1000 of people do that 365 how much that would amount....I realy wonder...Humm
Awesome selection. Miss all the street food!
you sir, i really enjoy your vlogs. its like hanging out with a dear friend.
MRJ so true!
I agree with you, he does a great job and feels like a friend
Thank you for the video, Thumbs Up 👍.

Satisfying video, all your food selections looked tasty and you can't beat the price but I need rice..lol

Very easy to get to. See my video entitled Pattaya Excursions from about a month ago. Cheers
Wow... for $3.20usd huge breakfast, try that in USA around $30
Is the ice in Thailand safe to eat? They say not to drink the water
Great work my man now that im staving Thanks.

Definitely value for money and the selections looked tasty. Btw, we also serve ice with beer here in Trinidad and Tobago. :)
Is it possible that you put a link to google map where the market is?

That pad see ew looks amazing.
Good and reasonably priced vs cheap
I was full before. Got hungry while watching the video. Nice one. Is there are market like this anywhere near walking street or second road
There are not any really just like this but something similar right up from walking street on Pattaya Tai, prices will be higher though, no doubt.
@@Rides4Kickz you reply soon 😊 thank you. Do you know the name of the market.
Where is this
How long did it take to learn to talk Thai?
It shows that you can eat on a budget all over Thailand.. and it all looked great... L.A Rob...
Could you possible edit some subtitles into your content? I'm curious to know what you are saying to people. Thanks!
Just turn on Closed captioning it automatically translates it to English.
@@PREPFORIT He needs subtitles when he is speaking Thai to Thailand people.
I am becoming familiar with the area by just watching your vlogs. Thank you for sharing. What were you drinking? was that beer?
Yes, it's called My Beer or also known as Singha Light.

Another excellent and informative episode, are there any issues with motorcycle security/theft?
Very few issues, I've had more issues of that sort back in the US to be honest.
Hi. I'm in chon buri right now. Can you please post the exact coordinates of this market. Thanks.
Here are the Coords, but the market is only on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. 13.287071, 100.930642

Do you ever get sick from street food like this or generally?
Going to take a lot of walking to burn that amount of food off mate loved the vlog as usual
For. Me I like to chew ice...so i always put ice on cold drink. (I am Thai)
What a feed for that money again great viewing mate

I'm bringing my own stainless, steel straws, and a set of cutlery too.
Apparently they are starting to do no plastic bags but on departments stores and not these markets. At least it's a start for now.
