@5:50 bonus, if they work from home, look for a USB dock with dual output. That way they can seamlessly switch their Mouse and Keyboard and other peripherals with their work PC and Home PC. I have been doing it for a couple years now and love it.
Semi-related note- if you're ever planning a higher budget gift/ employee swag- the best gifts are those that people find useful, but would never spend their own money on. I was leading swag on my team, and usually- folks get jackets, backpacks, etc. I suggested we get an Anker powerbank that can charge laptops- and surprisingly- even the non-tech folks were in. A senior engineer put it best- he'd never spend his own money on a $150 power bank, but is happy to get it and use it if given it. Edit- I'm getting the team GaN chargers w/ next years budget (they're all onboard w/ that), with the benefit being when travelling- they don't have to carry 3x heavy chargers (one laptop, phone, and accessory charger). Everyone's looking forward to it- but would once again never spend their own money on it.
I always get power banks, high quality cables, and rechargeable AA/AAA kits whenever someone is hosting a white elephant. They always get stolen. Portable air pumps and jump starters are a neat gift too!
Some other ideas are things that become handy but always think about it after the fact. -Rechargeable batteries with the wall charger -budget IEMs like the Linsoul 7hz Zero 2 -studio monitor isolation pads -bias lighting for TV/monitor like the brand Govee -rollerblade office chair wheels to replace the cruddy manufacturer ones -a controller such as Xbox or Dualsense for PC -portable bluetooth speaker like the JBL Clip 5 for on the go in and out of home -180 degree 8 pin GPU adapters to clean up the GPU cable routing -replacement Ear Pads for headphones -power supply tester or multimeter -lavalier microphone -electric duster Most of these things can serve some use but ultimately the more you know about the person receiving the gift, the more appropriate the gift can become. Theres even all sorts of budget room/desk accessories and decor on Etsy that can be petsonalized like LED standees, or 3D printed game cases key caps, or fake terrarium themed accents, etc. Give yourself plenty of time and you can find something worth receiving!
One thing I would recommend that have been super helpful for me is a magnetic tray. I got mine at lowes for like $5 in the little automotive section and it has been great at keeping my screws, tools, bits, and other little metallic case items organized.
@@chex313 tried that last time to compare, but this thermal remover stuff kinda breaks up the paste so you can just wipe it away. i'm always impressed by it. but i also had some kind of thermal potty that didn't react at all, so it doesn't work on everything
A good set of precision screwdrivers is very helpful during PC building. Both for the teeny-weeny M.2 Screws, but also when plugging in fan headers or front IO stuff.
That scam where sellers change their Amazon listing to use older ratings and reviews makes me distrust the entire platform. Not that Amazon was a trustworthy company anyway
The gift idea for under $50 that came to mind for me is an M.2 SSD Enclosure (if possible get one with a Type C to C cable) with a 240/256gb SSD as I know people who end up filling their phone with photos and videos and a small external SSD would be a very useful gift for offloading those.
Or, you could just come to my house. Last home office/garage clean out, found thousands of zip ties. Little ones, garden ones, white ones, black ones, all.the.zip.ties. 😮
Another gift idea under 50$ is a nice multiport USB charger... a UGreen Nexode Pro 65w I got for myself earlier and really love (at full price) went on a deal, so I got one of those for around 28$ as a christmas gift.
TG for youtube subscriptions. I wouldn't want to have to search for things like 'probing' 'thumb' 'screw' 'sock stuffer' etc. just to watch Paul bang on about his hardware package!
I bought a peg board then took some wood, used a router and made a frame for it. I stained it and made it look cool. All for under $20. I mostly use it to hold keyboards, controllers, and 3d printing stuff. Plus your can 3d print stuff to hang for it
I've been using the same Black & Decker screwdriver for 8 years (almost exactly). It still works good as new and somehow still holds a charge for months.
I can never look at zipties in relation to pc building, without thinking "tweazers" Edit: imagine my surprise, I posted the comment pretty early in the video, I wasn't expecting what came later
How are you liking your Fractal gaming chair so far? Would love to know your thoughts and how it compares to something like a Herman Miller with similar features/style. Thanks!
I wish this video would pop out a week ago cause my dad's birthday was on and I wanted to get him a ''$50 tech gift'' exactly. I ended up buying him a Phantom Spirit 120 EVO cooler for it's upcoming ''Ultra 7 computer'' that he wants to build the coming season and it was really fine in the end.
Another great vid Paul. Thanks Went over to Franks channel but immediately realized what I like about you. Over there I wasn't able to focus on what Frank was saying because of all the affected yelling. Anyway thanks again for great content and also not yelling at me. 😊 Cheers.
Paul, I friend told me to use 2 separate PCIE power cables for my GPU. What are your thoughts or recommendations on that idea? Specifically, GPUs with two 8 pin connectors.
Paul, with some new games needing more memory i could use a video on upgrading kits for ddr5 7800x3d from 32gb. Interested in going to 96gb next year. Just for grins/gaming.
***Whoa I bought 4x zip tie bundle*** The first one from package broke as I was threading it into the end that ratchets. The next next 2 broke as I was trying to snug them up. They look brand new but I'm sure they have been left in the heat until they became brittle. I'm not wasting any more time with this junk.
Hey paul, i have a question. Im not sure if i should upgrade my cpu. I have an i9-10900k, and i feel like it's been underperforming on newer games coming out. I was thinking of getting a 7800x3d or an 9800x3d. Maybe im just imagining it, but what do you think? Ps i have a 3090 if that helps/matters a bit.
Please help. I just got xbox controllers to use with my PC. I heard that the official xbox wireless adapter is better than bluetooth. Is that true? If so where can I buy an official one? It seems that xbox no longer sells them directly.
I can't believe Thermal Paste didn't make the list. You can never have enough Thermal Paste. For you computer, underarm deodorant, misc lube, and makes a tasty sandwich. I would have had on my list: Thermal paste Tweezers Swiss Army Knife Thermal Paste Screwdriver Confidence and Thermal Paste

Can confirm. Electric screwdriver comes in handy. Got a harbor freight one for cheap. Fantastic suggestions, Paul! 😉😎
Velcro > Zip ties for servicing.

For people wondering, the SKANDIS pegboard from ikea is much cheaper in store!
One thing I would recommend that have been super helpful for me is a magnetic tray. I got mine at lowes for like $5 in the little automotive section and it has been great at keeping my screws, tools, bits, and other little metallic case items organized.
Using the thermal remover for about 10 years now - best stuff ever! Glad to see it in the show!
Rubbing alcohol ?

amazon is slowly become a bastardisation of temu and wish
Merch idea: put thumb screws on the ends of the hoods cord, that would be really slick.
.......and up the cost price by $10 or $20⁉

Been watching Frank's videos for a while now. It's good to see him mentioned around. Dude, finds some real gems.
Harbor Freight is a great place to get zip-ties super cheap.
Microfiber cloths too!

Love it when they have the 50% off coupon that makes them even cheaper 😊
I'm going to suggest a mouse. Glorious Model D Gaming Mouse, for $34.99 now (wired) which I been using. Really good mouse, I had it for 2yrs so far.🙂
This is one my son talks about wanting for this collection.
@@christophermullins7163 It's really good and light because of the holes in it 😁
I am so sick of Amazon switching product pages around. They don't move the reviews...just change the product. It's disgusting IMO.

Thanks for always making sure that our dollar goes as far as it can Paul! Keep being awesome!
In the next video I want to see you drink a beer with RGB. I hear it enhances the taste. Wirelessly.
Don't forget.. faster frames.

"Livestrong bracelet!? He not fighting static, he fighting cancer!"
Hanx for reminding me about the Charity Live Stream on Saturday December 14th.
Now I need to watch the movie “Saturday The 14th”
How are you liking your Fractal gaming chair so far? Would love to know your thoughts and how it compares to something like a Herman Miller with similar features/style. Thanks!
A few handy little ideas as gifts to yourself! Nice little mail time graphic there too Joe, and a surprise hat! Sweet 😎
good probe Paul, see you next time
Totally going to buy the thermal remover for the office coworkers 😅

neat, what a nice gift for the community :P
Tip: find something genuinely _useful_ instead of just gimmicky. The receiver must have a _need_ for it. Otherwise it's just waste.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving. Thanks for all you do. Paul.👍🦃
a gift you can find under 50$ here in Europe : An antec Performance one P193 V2.
Another great vid Paul. Thanks

its been a minute, paul, good to see youre well!
Paul, I friend told me to use 2 separate PCIE power cables for my GPU. What are your thoughts or recommendations on that idea? Specifically, GPUs with two 8 pin connectors.
A kit for making network cables and test them, an PSU tester, there are plenty of non expensive things for PC entusiasts.
Hey Paul, how about a guide to full size keyboard and mouse sets? Wired and wireless please & for every budget level. Cheers 👍
You have a head like mine that just works with baseball caps. Looks good. Go with it
Nice to see someone sending a hand written note.
Awesome video Paul.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!
I love the concept of this video. A lot of the things in this list, are consumables for techies.
Thanks for making this video, Joe and Paul!
Thanks Paul - Happy early Thanksgiving!
It's worth spending a little extra to get reusable zip-ties.
That Black+Decker screwdriver should cost around 20$ or have a lot of bits and 90° adapter included. Not a great buy at that price.
Good artists borrow... Great artists steal
Hello from Kelowna ,,9800 x3d awesome I will be watching that.
Thanks for the video!
you owe me 11+ minutes for suggesting that other video.
Always enjoyed your videos, keep it up.
I always watch these things. I (almost) never find things for others. I *always* find things for myself, 😂
Paul, with some new games needing more memory i could use a video on upgrading kits for ddr5 7800x3d from 32gb. Interested in going to 96gb next year. Just for grins/gaming.
was that intro followed by leisure suit larry music? outstanding sir! glhf
4:00 yes daisy chaining for bigger tasks works great 4 me.
I didn't know that Paul still made videos
The hat looks good on ya.
You look good with a hat Paul.

frank doesnt put up a vetted page anymore for monthly tech under 50 :(
Paul, what knife are you using?!
W Mail time!
What is Paul doing with all his zip ties that he never seems to have enough?
this is the real question
5:16 The pegboards are far cheaper on the IKEA app
Not gonna lie, I was expecting much cooler things than zip ties and hoodies in a tech video…
Yo I want that knife it's nice bro whats the name of it I could use a new one?!!

If one is being probed, why unscrew?
Are those thumb screw logo shirts on the front or on the back of the shirts?
Liked for the segue to your sponsor.
This comment is for Joe, hopefully he doesn't see it while editing the video.
excellent!
What does long hair Paul look like?
I can't believe Thermal Paste didn't make the list. You can never have enough Thermal Paste. For you computer, underarm deodorant, misc lube, and makes a tasty sandwich.
I would have had on my list:
Thermal paste
Tweezers
Swiss Army Knife
Thermal Paste
Screwdriver
Confidence
and Thermal Paste
thermal paste was on there but somehow it got removed
AZ cardinals red!!! Awesome shirt!!
Would Love to buy your merch but your shipping is criminal.

Ooh, peg board. Yeah, lets spend $52 on a $10 piece of plastic
Probing Paul sounds like something you should feature on your OF page, to be honest ... I'll just pretend you never said that.
4 minutes of Title related content, 9 minutes of filler (self promotion/etc.)
