It would be cool, if you had some keyboard log-and-view on for your tutorials. You are changing between modes by pressing some hotkeys. As a beginner, I am focussing on so many things in your tutorial that it is acutally hard to recognize a sudden change of the icons and the sound of a keyboard hit in the background. Of course, everyone who already nows the hotkeys, workflows and stuff will not have this issue. But since a tutorial should open a path for beginners, it would surely be a good thing to add. In my case it was half an hour of frustration because the Probuilder behaved differently than in your tutorial. When I watched another tutorial (Brackeys iirc), I heared about switching to stretch-mode by pressing 'r', which solved the first hurdle when I remembered the problem I run into in this tutorial.
For everyone trying to figure out how to pull in the walls at 3:54, he's using box select (drag) to select the vertices on *both* top and bottom. I kept ending up with weird stuff as I click selected just the top face. Make sure have clicked "Select Hidden" to "on". on the pro builder panel. Alternatively go to the ProBuilder menu, Interaction, Toggle Select Back Faces.
@@akeelshah7904 same, did you guys find a solution? also when i select a face it is colored in yellow not light blue as in the video (don't know if it means something :/)
At about 4 minutes, selecting the top and bottom vertices in iso mode will not work unless unless you have "select hidden" set to on. It was off by default in my project. Hope this saves someone the 2 hours it took me to figure this out.
Gabriel, Thanks SO much for this. I kept finding short videos on Probuilder, that didn't provide the details I need as a newbie. Following along with you on this was perfect, so thanks for doing it. I've found a couple other videos of yours so I'm going to go follow along with those but please keep these kinds of videos coming, with a focus on PB features now demo'd in other videos (please also keep the tangents :)). THANKS!
when i try to weld it says nothing to weld. and when i hit alt+g it doesnt select evverything. when i pull it up 4m a huge triangular hole appears in a wall. its quite frustrating that almost no step can be taken without fixing some weird problem.

hey everyone, im having an issue with this video @ 3:26 my gizmo doesn't change when i hold down shift and it doesnt go to scale mode? can anyone help?
You snap with a plugin called Progrids that is often used together with Probuilder. You can get it from the same place you got Probuilder. It's the little blue buttons on his left next to Probuilder under the scene/shaded tab
I am waiting for the arrival of Unity 2018, these new tools have transformed too much Unity, I am really very excited waiting for that day. This is a great tutorial that I will keep in mind when I need it
Can't seem to find the Quick offset option in Unity 2019.1 f1 with probuilder 4.0.4. Tried to see if it was just a special script, but didn't see that. I'm seeing the Object size under the Pro Builder Mesh script, but no offset option there.
Ok, I figured it out - the "Set Hidden Element Selection" toggle was set to Off even though it says the default is On. If this is off, ProBuilder will only select one vertex when two are on top of each other and therefore thinks there's nothing there to weld.
It was really difficult for me to follow this tutorial. My "house" looks very wonky as when I followed some steps it did not "snap" as it did for the instructor. Furthermore, none of my vertex colors would apply and that led me down a rabbit hole of online research to no avail. If anyone else has any tips please reply!
Edit: wanted to say that I do appreciate the teacher and the free video resource. This tutorial unfortunately suffers from expert tutorial syndrome where they think beginners know all the hot keys and all of the nuances already. For the vertex colors you have to make sure you have object selection on and not face selection or edge selection or vertex selection. It's the icon that looks like a cube in the middle top of your scene. For snapping you probably made a 100 cube house instead of a 10-q house you can control snapping objects with shift and control if it doesn't do it automatically.
@@christopherlegg6200 So I'm experiencing the same issue as marbles was. I tried your solution and it doesn't appear to be working. I'll use object select and then when I press 'apply', nothing happens. Any idea?
I think if Unity wants to have a visual scripting solution built in next, they should do with Bolt what they did with ProBuilder here...and they might, since it seems to come with Unity Plus subs now for free...so who knows.
Added a cube in new project and got "There are 1 objects in the Scene with overlapping UV's. Please see the details list below or use the 'UV Overlap' visualisation mode in the Scene View or Object Maps for more information." What is wrong?
as soon as you did the inset scale of the faces of the first floor level, your vertices snapped to the grid. I am having trouble as when I finish insetting the faces everything is an offset of the grid. nothing lines up with the grid lines. Even when i move vertexs
Hi MADagain, when I tried to weild vertices it fail too but I think I found what went wrong : In the ProBuilder the value of Select Hidden was to Off. By put it On, all work after.
Perfect, I was struggling to get time to sit down and force myself to learn blender, at least this way I can bypass a lot of that for the interim to get a prototype up

Make sure you're using Unity 2018 beta, then go to Window > Package Manager. If you don't see ProBuilder in the "in Project" list, click the "All" button at the top, scroll down to ProBuilder, click it, then click the Install button at the upper right. Get it from the Asset Store (from within Unity, go to Window > Asset Store, then search for "ProGrids" in the Asset Store search, Download it, and add it to your project. Peace.

Sometimes you guys release a tutorial that is exactly what I need at the moment I need it. This is awesome!
3 years later and my words exactly.
can u please explain how to do all of these things in the video, theirs no keyboard actions or anything
For Example, Alt + U = Create Edge Loop, appropriate button will be shown when you are dealing with Edge Tool
Building a house in Sims difficulty expert.
Imagine Sims but without that 1 square snapping limitation for doors and windows and walls, etc.!
Whenever I try to do the inset on the wall to make it hollow, Unity acts weirdly and doesn't pull it in like in the video.

I also had no idea how to make things snap that way.

This tutorial was super hard to follow. I got stuck on 3.50 and had to find the solution else where which took me hours
How did you create the points for the stairway?
I do the same things as shown here in the tutorial, but it keeps telling that there are no vertices to weld?
I have the same issue. Can't find any solutions.
Ok, I figured it out - the "Set Hidden Element Selection" toggle was set to Off even though it says the default is On. If this is off, ProBuilder will only select one vertex when two are on top of each other and therefore thinks there's nothing there to weld.
I found another solution, switch to edge mode select all edges then switch back to vertices mode, then weld vertices
Oh good, this is fantastic. Since Blender wouldn't even start on my computer and won't work.
So now I can do stuff in Unity, which actually works.
For some reason I do not have the "Quick Offset" option and this is VERY annoying.
