- I found a popup scammer operating in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir and decided to track the scam payments from the victims right back to the scammer's bank account.
The journey involved tracking the payments from victims right back to the scammer's personal bank account. The police got involved too.

Jim has made a huge impact on scam awareness in Australia due to recent interview with an Australian broadcasting television show.
Our landline has not rang for over a week now. Usually they ring non stop up to 15 times a day on average.
I'd like to hope that I'm making a small impact, but it's more likely that they're on holiday or something. Still...

Many TH-camrs do videos on how these scammers prey upon the elderly. Watching these has help inform me of their tactics, and yesterday, I was able to help talk an old man out of giving them gift cards that I had noticed he was buying while I was standing in line. After going through their typical script, he realized I was saying the same thing they had told him, and he came to his senses.

no, these scammers embody what brown people truly are.
They should put up signs in the checkout lines at Target, Walmart, Best Buy and any other big retailers that sell gift cards with a warning like "Are you purchasing gift cards to pay for tech support or to reimburse a banking error? STOP you are being Scammed!"

At my local CVS, when you try to purchase a gift card, the credit card reader shows you this warning and forces to you acknowledge it before you can pay for the card. It's a little thing that I hope makes a huge impact.
That won't do a damn thing. Stupidly gullible people are persistent. They'll just push right through with what they're doing. Besides, as someone who works in a retail-like environment, I can confirm that most people are oblivious to signs to that are right in front of them.

I'm autistic and I'm not stupid by any stretch but I am very gullible sometimes and don't always put two and two together so these videos are really helpful to remind me of how these scams work
If they don't let you "think about it" then they are likely scamming. Whenever I make any purchases over $100, I always always take a day to think. I have almost been scammed because of the same reasons
My son also with a disability believed the scammers, lucky I was there to stop him …. This was a few years ago.

I work with the elderly, often mentally ill patients in a counseling center who have often complained about scammers calling. I have mentioned your videos to one of them, and one elderly patient enjoyed your videos and said, “I’d love to see that fella [mentioned you, Jim] shake these scammers till their teeth rattle!” 😂

I've shown my grandma one or two videos of Jim's and I truly think it helped her understand what to look out for! on top of the forgetfulness of age she isn't the most educated or well-read woman and suffers from an abundance of trust. I love her dearly and am grateful for the aid in keeping her safe!

The way these scammers get angry with their victims really does make it feel worse.
Me watching these videos out loud has saved my mom from a couple of scams. One time she got a call and once they asked her if she had a computer and to download AnyDesk to complete some sort of refund, she was very aware that it was a scam and promptly hung up.

I am so glad you got that lady access to her computer again. I was getting so angry hearing him blame and manipulate her, even though she was so sweet and was trying so hard to help. I was worried when I saw him change her pin, just to be mean to her. I try so hard to keep people informed about these things. I just worry so easily about people…

I always wondered how people fall for the scam of needing to buy gift cards but hearing the scammer say "I don't want your credit card information, this is safe because I don't have access to your account"

Nobody who works in customer service would talk to people like how these Indian scammers do. They yell, insult, and speak improperly, "i'm not here to kid. Pay the freaking money". No idea how people fall for them lol.
There are employment scams and they do the same tbh. Or they get your account details for direct deposit as an excuse as well.

This channel is so much better than scammer payback. The tone is way less self indulgent and there are some actual results rather than just some guy talking to a call centre in an old woman’s voice and maybe deleting a few files after a 25 minute long video.

As much as I love to see your work Jim and as happy as it makes me that you're doing what you do I have to say it is becoming near unbearable to watch these scumbags without getting incredibly angered.
Same for me. This one in particular hit harder than most. I almost threw my phone across the room. Bloody hell. The real problem for me is not being able to do a damn thing to intervene or help. And knowing, that in spite of all of JB's best efforts, or Trilogy or Scammer Payback, or Kitboga, or any of the others, that nothing will be done to stop or punish these creatures.
There was another incident recently that was even worse, where they were victimizing a cancer patient. I am a cancer survivor - I wanted to reach through my phone and utterly demolish them, I was so furious. Definitely not a healthy state of mind.

@@lonewolf5238 I totally share your anger, and it helps to keep in mind that one day these scams won't be able to work anymore - everyone will be aware of them. And these types of TH-cam videos are the stepping stones for getting to that point.

brother your videos legitimately just helped be recognize my grandpa almost getting scammed out of $233,000 with the classic refund scam! I saw the notes doc pulled up with all the transfer info and immediately recognized it. i was only able to do it thanks to this channel!

I've been watching your good works for quite long and even several times to same video, but scamming isn't stopping.
I'm from India and Many of my fellow Indians(including me 4 years ago) are also scammed very badly by these tiny fellow citizens.
Most of these people are not caught and go unpunished.
We are helpless, and there's no strong punishment by authority to these tiny group people even if they are caught very rarely.
So, Please don't blurred these black sheeps who are bringing bad name to India and scamming good people across the world when you caught and exposed them.
So that everyone will know them and even others will also be frightened to do such things.
