      I think that's what Gil was saying, especially dudes like BD, they was already on that level as PGs, but they're "rules" didn't allow them to perform as pure scoring-PGs. The main difference is probably that Gil had the range similar to the elite guards today

Flopping, jumping into people for fouls, the semi-circle under the goal making it illegal to guard the paint came about in 97'. The game changed so that smaller players have the advantage to create highlights with is more marketable. They want bigs shooting 3yrs and smalls attacking the paint and dunking. They don't even list centers on the all star rosters any more.

    The way they talk about Gilbert makes me think he Jordan or something...

    • @melolilz03
      @melolilz03 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You wouldnt understanddd he changed the definition lowkey of point guard..he was avg 28-29 points a game with 6 assist point guards never scored like that in the nba..Allen iverson is a 2 guard to but his height u wuld think he was a 1. Also play style Gil played completely different from 98 percent of the point guards that ever played in the NBA..he was ahead if his time basically..

      @@melolilz03 Dawg Gilbert only did that 2xs in his career. How he change "The Game"??? Do your research plenty of pgs did this before him. Ever heard of the Big O or even Tiny Archibald??? Tiny avg 30pts and 10ast before. Gilbert shined on a mediocre Washington team lets be real.
