@@kassos8617 DeuKae is a shortform of "DeuRimKaeChyo" (드림캐쳐) ,which is the Korean pronunciation of Dreamcatcher ..K-Somnias have been using "드캐" aka "DeuKae" as nickname for Dreamcatcher meanwhile I-Somnias mostly uses "DC" but more ppl are using DeuKae now that's why

Nothing wrong being "organic" or even being "manufactured" but end of the day, how organic is DC growth is technically debatable as efforts have also been put in promote them by the company and the members themselves through various activities. I think what people meant by organic is instead a sustained growth through the efforts by DC rather than industry hype or marketing.
It would be the ultimate plot twist if they actually win a Bonsang before a music show.
That would be the biggest flex to Music Shows esp that one show

the controversy with the first win was and still is very frustrating to somnies, but on a more positive note, there are no hard feelings between Dreamcatcher and Everglow. they're actually friends and they appeared on the show Idol Room together (it's a hilarious episode, you should definitely watch it)
InSomnias really have no problem with other fandoms ,we just have beef with The Shoe

after the whole first win scandal deja vu still had another week to possible have its first win
that week we were number 1 on the prevotings, surrounded by boy groups, and then suddenly dreamcatcher wasn’t in the nominees anymore so during the deja vu era we got robbed TWICE
the same thing with BOCA era we were first with a huge gap and we still managed to loose
tons of award shows keep ignoring dreamcatcher such as melon, mama etc
dreamcatcher is nominated and are (probably) gonna attend SMA (seoul music award) this will be their first ever attendance on a big award show after 7/4 years in the kpop industry

I think the problem is in this concept of the group in Korea? TV channels are based on conservative principles, and do not want to promote it. My poor English is not able to explain more precisely. In my country, the situation is about the same: on the main state channels, mostly only pop music, and something alternative only on cable TV or at concerts.
@@alter89 It also comes down to their dark, gothic rock-based concept. Most kpop fans are different from most k-rock fans. There isn't a great deal of overlap between the two.

as we know even their company size can affect huh, and based in what i have seen not even good numbers can save u from the media preferences with the big companies
For BOCA,their first week numbers became useless cos "The Show" cancelled to air on the first week of the comeback(strange enough it's when they don't have serious competition on the line up,it's like an auto win looking at their views n album sales that time),so the stream and album sales didn't count at all,they compete on the 2nd week,when the streams n sales is really average and at a downslope,but still the pre voting score DC have a huge gap,i don't know where that went since they became third on the actual show 😵😵😵
The next questionable thing is that after The Show rigged the results for the Everglow win, 4 months later Everglow member Kim Si-hyeon became one of the hosts for The Show. So while Everglow the group shouldn't be blamed, I wouldn't exactly say the same about their company. Seems suspicious to me or a pretty big coincidence. The week after, The Show didn't award a win when Dreamcatcher stood another big chance. They stated it was because The Show was at a festival, but they had award wins at Festivals before.
I would also not be surprised if YG did some behind the scenes blacklisting of them over the years after exposing them for Mixnine. YG has proven themselves to be shady in many ways historically.
And now we are trying to give them a Bonsang, we are doing great keeping the 7th spot on main category but we need more somnies voting everyday and using more than one account. Let's fight for our girls somnias, we can do this! They deserve the world! Fighting!

It's ok guys, you're here now :D Dreamcatcher breaks their own records literally every comeback. There are fewer than 10 girl groups who have sold 100,000 copies of a single album and Dreamcatcher became one of them this year with Dystopia: Lose Myself. The First Win is important but it's not everything. DC's album sales, tours, and online concerts mean they have a true dedicated following and financial stability. The First Win will come. And not everyone in the industry is out to get them. They receive so much love and respect from their fellow idols and from staff of companies they work with. Multiple music shows have even given them presents on multiple occasions. 2020 was an incredible year for DC and there's every reason to believe 2021 will be even better ^_^
The problem with no first win is that they're not promoted in Korea because of that. Most groups go on Idol Room or other famous korean variety shows, their songs go on the radio very often, they're invited in a lot of award shows, etc. It doesn't provide financial stability, true. Concerts are the best way to gain money, and promotion costs a lot of money even if it's only appearing a couple of times on Inkigayo for example. But it's essential to gain korean fans and make their name known. Most people have never heard of their names before and the amount of times DC's name was misspelled in the past is while very funny for us, also very embarrassing because it shows they don't care about them at all.
For album sales and streaming we are going strong this year, and we could have won several times a win if we had more streaming on korean streaming platforms. Let's just hope next comeback will gain DC more korean fans because we really need them.
But regardless of that we are growing and it's something to be proud of
Also, this year the Dreamcatcher's full album (Dystopia: The Tree of Language) was recognized by several magazines: TIME, Paper Magazine, South China Morning Post, Dazed and Melon's Magazine. I hope they gain more recognition in Korea.

And what makes me emotional is that their latest album now reached 100k sales!!! As a stan since debut who met that “the cooking show” win robbed moment myself, it still traumatizing me and I still blaming the company of that group tho.. cuz what a perfect timing to get a first win for a first comeback right? It opens a huge door for the group. Watching dreamcatcher keep growing and growing makes me gonna cry everytime lol and you guys react to dreamcatcher literally fill my joy so much! The gutting thing is that InSomnia put in a ton of effort during Boca to get them their first win on The Show and were looking good but then The Show cancelled during their first week of promotion supposedly due to Covid and thus we were screwed again 😡
The only positive is that their first win can be OT7 with Handong back now.
My personal hypothesis about The Show is that it's under SBS - SBS is well known for being YG's personal lapdog and YG is very well known to hold a grudge. Getting exposed by HFE/DCC about all the stuff they were doing would be more than enough to have him thirsting to toss HFE's groups under the bus in every way.
Don't worry about being here since the beginning. It just matters that you're here until the end. (Also someone did point out on twitter that the 'poster' The Show tweeted out was reminiscent of 80s-90s era movie posters in Asia. Literally as soon as that was said - kung fu movie posters like holy hell that looks so similar So that's also something to consider.)

I got into fandom after Piri was released. So my first comeback as an InSomnia was Deja Vu. It was and is still one if not the best song from them. I remember me being so exited about the win since everyone thought Dreamcatcher would win. Well yea.... The disappointment was huge since we were robbed twice that era. But it seems that it made fandom stronger. So now seeing girls having a few million views in 1 day makes me proud of InSomnias and the girls. I am very grateful that people more and more are discovering them. I am looking for more content and I love your reactions.

Yes we all InSomnias hate the show.. everytime i see this "dodging disbandment" video or someone brings what happened that time my blood boils of anger.. Dreamcatcher deserved that win. And we haven't been able to give it to them yet. Thanks a lot for this series and this specific video even if both of you got some spoilers. It is still so emotionaly challenging to watch this video. I'm ARMY and InSomnia and I was sad for DC for "You and I" (which got me in the fandom and which I discovered while watching the TV show performances because of "Fake Love") and also for "Scream" which happened kind of at the same time as... "ON"... 😅
Anyway thanks again and for sure the group members are not to be blamed. The shady things in the industry are though (and again with The Show during "Boca" era). Hope we will see quickly enough some DC reactions though!
It's really interesting to watch this video now, at the end of 2020 - the year in which, in spite of a freaking global plague making live promotions impossible, Dreamcatcher's album sales (the two released after this guide was made) skyrocketed and their latest one hit the coveted 100K mark a month or so ago. Barely any girl groups ever have even a single album hit six figures, so this is a very big deal. When you take the history you learned here into account, they're a truly remarkable success story, aren't they? I cannot possibly stan them harder.
You guys have become one of my favourite reactors in so little time. Dreamcatcher are my ult group and Jiu is my ult bias. With that being said, you guys should react to CLC. They are technically Dreamcatcher's idol best friends, their music is also amazing and they are going through a very difficult time at the moment and could use the support. There's so much pain and pride looking at their history. After the hell that 2016 were for kpop girlgroups with disbandments and 2017 in general, I was so afraid to get attached to another kpop group, and DC seemed so fragile... I would never regret putting my hope on them, even if another heartbreak was just in line...
Rewatching older interviews from Fly High era, especially before the tour, you can notice how uncertain they were if that would be the last comeback. Watching Latin insomnias cheering (and even crying) so hard must have definitely lifted their spirits, but still, kpop groups need to have local recognition to call themselves really successful, something hard if you're a rock influenced group. Piri and Deja Vu nominations were just pain, rage, and more pain
Behind the inside jokes of the cucumber farm, the Minx cringe and the Sh*t show, there's a lot of impotence and forced maturing. Talent aside, we're not joking when we say the dreamies are one of the most humble, grateful, hardworking, down to earth and close idols; they needed to be. They really deserve the world, and insomnias are happy to repeat that every. single. time.

Insomnia, lets fight like crazy to support Dreamcatcher, and thank Happy Face for actually supporting and doing everything to keep our girls in the Kpop industry.
Now that you have seen what Dreamcatcher is up against you can consider yourselves to be true InSomnias. Never stop until they reach the top!
the sad part is that DC's hopes of getting a first win is unfortunately with The Show. So even though The Show is garbage rigged shitshow, we still pretty much only have that to go on. as the other 5 music shows have different criteria and much bigger groups go to those shows. Also it bugs us that it had to be Everglow that was rigged infavor too, as Everglow are close with DC. There have been many cases of the industry sabotaging DC, but that incident with the show got attention from so many non-fans too. So many did the calculations with the numbers and system The Show displayed. Had there been computer errors, The Show would've rsponded. had the numbers been accurate, The Show would've responded, since the case was blown up so much. Since they didn't respond at all, it makes it clear it was rigged. Also a member from Everglow became the host on The Show not long after too, making it even more suspicious.

The fact that Everglow's managing company is a fairly big Chinese company (Yuehua) has nothing to do with any of this... that they are investing heavily in the Korean market is totally irrelevant as well, of course.
@@bishwithwifi4938 Everglow didn't know about it being rigged when the winner was announced. So when they accepted the award, they thought they had won. So they didn't put on a fake smile. How they felt after the fact is another thing.

you guys should really watch their series on their TH-cam channel called "between dreamcatcher and me" its a series of small clips where they sit each of the members down individually and ask them more personal questions, I think you guys would enjoy seeing the more personal side of them. They even touched base on how they were feeling and their thoughts on loosing their win. Also Gahyeon kinda breaks down to at one point which just hurts my heart. Anyway, I love your DC series and sad to see it end, I'll be waiting for more content in the future :)

The dodging disbandment video hits hard every time I watch it. Also tbh, it was after watching the video that I really felt like I should give my all to protect and support our girls. Not having a single win since debut really breaks my heart, especially when they're nearing the end of their contracts (thought I have no doubt they will renew). One of the things that makes me super proud though, despite all that they had to go through, they still continue to work hard and the fandom (and sales..) have been growing with each comeback. So I really hope with the next comeback, they'll get that win.
The Deja Vu robbery stings in the fandom. It would have been a struggle to get the win with Scream because the comeback was same day as IZ*ONE Fiesta after their hiatus due to the scandal so their comeback was a big deal so more tough luck. Then Boca this year was going to have a very strong chance to win on the Show because their main competitors Itzy don’t perform on the show, but Corona cases in SBS building made their week’s show canceled, so no win. Of course corona is important but just another dosage of bad luck but luckily they got way more attention with their 2020 releases.
Can I just clear up one thing. I have some issues with the way the video, you reacted to, spoke of Dreamcatcher's company. The moments where there was "radio silence" and "no news" are basically false. Dreamcatcher have always been active and there is an update from them everyday and has been since debut. They have barely had a break since debut and actually it only took till the quarantine period in 2020 for them to actually have some sort of rest. They love to work. Their company has been brilliant to them and for them. I just felt the video didn't portray them in the best light. I can assure you that the company they are under is great to the girls and there is never any silence. Your reaction was a good watch

I'm not a die hard Kpop fan, coz I'm kinda more to Rock & Metal music. Dreamcatcher might be the only Kpop Girl Group that I love to follow & listen to their music (as for now). I dunno why, but I think Dreamcatcher's story kinda inspiring. They teach us not to give up & never lose hope. Although they haven't win yet, DC never hold grudges at any other Kpop group in the industry. Instead they befriend with them all. They maybe a group of chaotic crackhead girls, but they really do have a genuine good heart.

So a bit of background on my history of the group. I started listening to their music a month after "Prequel" was released (the MV for "Fly High" was my introduction to the group), and I was so in love with their concept and music style. I wasn't a hardcore stan at this point since I wasn't familiar with all of the members, but I really enjoyed their music regardless. It wasn't until after "Deja Vu" came out and I started to deep dive more into Kpop that I really started to become an Insomnia, and learned more about the members as well as the group's history thanks to this video. It made me come to appreciate them a lot more, and I got to see their 2nd online concert this year after Handong came back from China and the whole experience just made me so incredibly happy! Yes, it's disappointing that they haven't gotten a music show win, but what matters is that the girls are doing what they love, making music for their fans who support them. Really enjoyed watching this series of you girls getting to know them and I cannot wait for your LOONA series next year! :D

I got into Dreamcatcher in 2020 and listened to all their discography on October 2020. I voted for them for the Bonsang, betraying Blackpink. Dreamcatcher had a better chance of winning and they deserve it so bad. I'm happy to see we were learning about our girls around the same time. Love to yall, this was fun!!

(G)-Idle are a brilliant girl group. The leader and rapper writes the songs and is also part of the game girl group K/DA too.
I know watching this video makes all of us mad at the industry and all, but 2020 has been such a successful year for Dreamcatcher!! So much growth for the fandom, for DC appearing on more variety shows, getting more recognitions for their success (even if no music show wins, but I can feel that coming with the next comeback 🙏), and just so much content that Dreamcatcher have been putting out, so the worries of looming disbandment and stuff are gone 😌 They are growing and so are we, and things will just get better in 2021!
This video came out very shortly before the trailer and MV for Scream dropped. The Japanese comeback in March I believe was Endless Night. Rose Blue came later as part of a game partnership.
And about King's Raid, they just released the second opening to the animation OST, IT'S DREAMCATCHER! It's not really a surprise for the fans, but well...
The song is called "Eclipse" and we only got the 1:30 minute version so far (for the Anime), full song will be released early 2021. It sounds amazing!

Just wanna comment about the first win that was robbed from Dreamcatcher:
It's just sad, I love both Dreamcatcher and Everglow (loved them even more when I got to know that Mia and Gahyeon are cousins uwu) and it's just something that makes me so angry. ClC, Everglow and Dreamcatcher deserve their wins. Dreamcatcher could have had their first one, and I feel so sad by the fact that they didn't.
Also, as a forever, it's just sad to look at Everglow's first win and majority of people telling us that they cheated or didn't deserved it when they also worked hard. They literally screwed two groups up.
I'm really glad Insomnia wasn't attacking us forevers though, it would have been awful for me to see my two favorite fandom groups fighting.
