To answer your questions in this vid:
1. No. DC is the only group that re-debuted with the same company also, the only group that redebuted without any memebers leaving the group.
2. Translation for you on 34:57 -> 1st row: song + album score, 3rd row: votes durnig the on air time. Also, fans later figured out that video score was accurate but not the expert prefernce.
3. Dreamcatcher's popularity - DC is kind of well known group in the industry but for the "normal" Korean fans, they are still unpopular group.
Lastly (not) fun fact: It took 1924 days for DC to win their first win. For the members who debuted as Minx, it took them 2771 days. DC still holds THE LONGEST date after debut for a group to win record for kpop group.
For the minx members, kind of? Not really tho. For Dreamcatcher, definitely not. NU'EST took the longest, whether you count the subunit as the first win (NU'EST W was 2,046 days from NU'EST's debut) or the main group, 2,610 days from debut.
There's also Brave Girls which is... also weird. Technically Brave Girls took the longest, 3,627 days. But they also had no members of the original 2011 group.
Dreamcatcher actually has 2 wins for maison and 2 for bonvoyage

Yeah Mixnine was a pretty big thing with both boy groups and girl groups and they were going to debut either the winning boy group or the winning girl group. The boy group won and was chosen to debut (which never happened)
But yeah there were some pretty big names, The 4 Dreamcatcher girls, ITZY's Ryujin (who was one of the fan favourites in the show), Loona's Heejin and Hyunjin, some members of ACE, Treasure and Ateez too. A lot of them didn't get big until after the show, but it's crazy how many people you can recognize when going back to it

anyone who knows more about the kpop industry over the years can correct me but i don't think any other group i know has ever redebuted as a whole group with a different concept under the same company. only individual artists or sub-units who redebut in a different group and/or under a different label.

You are very correct - this had never been done before. You've had individual people being redebuted, but never an entire group.
The only one I know is 3YE, which started as a girl pop/mid 2010s concept 5 member Apple.B, but they lost two members and redebuted as a 3 member girl crush concept. Both groups are under GH Ent. My favorite song from 3YE is Out of My Mind.
@@808nemesis6 that was in 2019 though, 2 years after Dreamcatcher and that was also with having lost members of the previous group, not the entire group as a whole with the addition of members. (Queen is my jam tbh but oomm is also a really good track. GH needs to get some cash for them to come back already grr.)
@@aislin2989 I don't think time frame matters here, but yeah, I didn't see the "whole group" specification. DC is prolly the only group then, but even so, redebuts are so rare that if we're just looking at groups, it's prolly just these two.
@@808nemesis6 The only reason I specified the year is that once someone has done a redebut of a group, then others can see it as an option, kind of the same way that large groups (8+ members) weren't a thing pre-Super Junior, and same with subunits. Redebuts had been done ofc, but those were usually individuals, or a duo at most. An entire group was unheard of pre-Dreamcatcher, especially as a redebut - other groups have lost members and changed concepts but they generally just promoted under the same name. But you're also correct - it's so rare that I can only think of Dreamcatcher and 3YE as actual redebuts.

re: MAMAs - that'll never be happening, not unless Dreamcatcher has a massive blowup hit where it's impossible for Mnet to ignore. They already made the mistake of letting Ateez on stage. Two groups with the same production team from smaller companies, both known for their intense performances and stage presence? I knew that when Chase Me or Dreamcatcher weren't nominated in 2017 that it would be an absolute miracle for Dreamcatcher to ever be allowed to perform at awards or end of year shows. (But oh do I *WANT* DC and Ateez to collab for a stage. Everyone is always like "but omg scandals!!" like honey there is no room for a scandal when EVERYONE IS LOOKING FOR THE NEAREST PRIEST TO PERFORM AN EXORCISM OR EXCUSING THEMSELVES TO GO CLEAN THEMSELVES UP BECAUSE IT WILL BE ONE OF THE MOST TERRIFYING STAGES OF ALL TIME. ahem. Give me Singnie and Jongho making audio engineers cry tears of blood with those high notes ffs. Give me my demonic children and my murder babies on one stage where I can be absolutely terrified for five minutes thank you.)
A real expert will have some criteria to subtract points from the 'maximum 500' they are allowed to give. They just manipulated the result with this 0 - 500pt.
It's great that no one of these Music Shows are using anything similar to "Expert Preferences" anymore.
Now are all based in album sales, streamings, views, and broadcasting counts (Music shows are from TV channels).
Dude, when they got their first win I only followed them for 3 1/2 months and I was balling my eyes out.
Probably because I breathed DC content for the first 1 - 2 months after I got into them, all the guides, there history, variety... After them, I got into other groups as well but never nearly so hard. They will always be my number 1.
I feel u on catching a new group early. I still wish i was into kpop for the 2nd gen groups but i did find dc before fly high. Watching them grow has been the best experience ever.

The only other group that I know of that has redebuted and are still around is 3YE. They had 5 members as Apple.B but then lost two members and redebuted as 3YE. However, the trajectory of that group isn't looking too good in recent years, which is a shame cause I do think that they have some good songs. This is all under the same company and Apple.B had more of a girl pop/mid 2010s concept while 3YE is girl crush.

Those thoughts about being a new K-pop fan in 2023 is what I felt like in 2012. I wished I had been around for things, and even now I wish I had paid attention to some groups earlier. But to quote Siwon of SJ - "it doesn't matter when you entered, it only matters that you're there until the end."
But man... I dead ass wish that I could rehear things for the first time or that I wasn't *so fucking jaded* about new groups. I don't want to get attached to new groups only to have their companies scrap them - especially those with underaged members because I don't trust those lineups. Even still, companies will drop underaged members when they get tired of girl crush or innocent/cute concepts or decide it isn't profitable and they want to tackle a slightly (or overtly) sexier concept. (See: Cube dropping 2 Lightsum members last year.) I also don't completely trust the sexier concepts and that the members of a group weren't forced into it like 2nd Gen girl groups were. (the only idol group I trust with sexier content is Kard because of things the members have said and BTS vlogs where the female members were saying that they had the ideas for the outfits themselves. And that Matthew is usually more naked than Somin or Jiwoo 😂)

46:02 Yes, before Dreamcatcher..there was a girl group called 'Pritz' back in 2014. Their sound much more heavier because their music style lean more to Metal & they have an actual band behind them. Quite similar to Babymetal concept. Pritz more like Korean 'Kawaii Metal' (Cute Metal) girl group while Dreamcatcher is more to Pop Rock girl group with Electronic music influence & without a band with them. I think Pritz already disbanded after the controversy about their costume that resemble N@zi uniform. Both Pritz & Dreamcatcher concept & music almost similar but different at the same time. If Pritz still around today, they will be a great rival group for Dreamcatcher. Metal vs Rock. :P
